Loved the attention from the staff and the facilities. The place is beautiful. Spoke to me as an old soul honestly. Loved the food, the calming environment, the drinks. I truly relaxed.
The room service cleaning could be improved. We had dinner in the balcony and it took them two days to clean up the utensils. Other than this I enjoyed the amenities. I also think they could put in a bit of effort in the maintenance of the place, some spaces were run down like the spa. I love an old aesthetic but the place needs and deserves a spruce up or upgrade in some areas. The place is magical and aside from the few comments I really did enjoy every bit of my stay here.

This is my second stay and Chuini and it won’t be my last. I love everything about this hotel. The rooms are all bungalows and spaced out. It’s boutique size so you never feel on top of any other guests. I had one of the pools to myself every single day. I was looking for R&R on this holiday and I got it. It’s only 35 minutes from Stone Town if you want some nightlife and restaurant action. The team, led by GM Suhaila, are brilliant. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. I felt so at home and welcome, which was lovely as a solo traveller. The food in the restaurant is delicious. There is a lovely spa for a great massage and other treatments. At low tide you can go for walks along the beach and at high tide it’s a few steps down into the water. I love the style and the decor - all white/sun bleached wood vibes.

We recently stayed at this wonderful hotel in Zanzibar as a family of six, and it exceeded all our expectations. Each pair in our group had their own individual lodge, which gave us the perfect balance of privacy and comfort. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed — a real home away from home. What really made our stay special was the staff. Every single member of the team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our experience exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was another highlight — fresh, delicious, and full of local flavor. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was a delight. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar, whether you're traveling as a couple, with friends, or as a family. We can’t wait to come back!
Nothing.

The hotel is very private, a small number of guests and set right on the coast with a beautiful 180 view of the sea. The grounds are very picturesque and well maintained, with all of the hotel staff very friendly and hospitable. It was the perfect hotel and setting to truly relax and slow down for a week.
It’s a little bit far from any of the tourist areas so transfers can be on the pricey side, for example stone town was 30 minutes in a car (up to 1hr when traffic was bad). This didn’t bother us to much as the peace and serenity at the location was lovely, however just a consideration if you want to be closer to town.

Excelent breakfast, pool and nice view, togheter with an amezing team also the bar has some signature drinks and nice options for lunch and dinner around 45 minutes of Stone Town
The room was somehow dark, maybe they could improve lighting inside. The shower could have better waterforce, and also some regulatiry on hot/cold water during shower times So, the lodge is on a nearby village around 45 minutes of Stone Town, but don't go expecting beach access. If you wanna go to beach, better drive to another place. Chuini Lodge is perfect for relaxing but the beach is not the best one, althought you can have a very nice pool and deck Also, the last 1,5km is on dirt road, very bad conditions, but manageagle (as many roads in Zanzibar)

The staff were so lovely and friendly. We received a nice welcome drink and when we arrived at our room it was spotlessly clean and they had used palm leaves to write 'enjoy your honeymoon on the floor.' They turn down your bed every night ready for you and the bed and pillows were super comfy. The food was delicious. The set menus were particularly nice and always different. We asked for a private dining experience and the staff decorated a secluded area really beautifully with flowers and palms shaped as hearts and candles. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. The setting is pretty, it has character with the ruins of the palace around. It was very quiet and peaceful and had very good views of the sunsets! The room was so lovely looking out onto the sea and boatyard. It was very spacious and decorated nicely. There is the option of two different pools that you can choose to lounge by, and many varieties of seating for however you're feeling. They let us try some cocktails that they were thinking of putting on the menu which were very nice. There is a massage facility that is good value.
A few finishing touches need to be addressed. Shower pressure was on and off, occasionally really good and occasionally not. Towel quality in our room was hit and miss. There were two bedside lights in our room and one of them would not plug in. We were not shown around when we arrived so had to figure most things out for ourselves which in some respect is nice but a little more information would be useful. Excursions through the hotel are ridiculously expensive so we did not use them and organised ourselves, this was the same for the taxi service.

We liked that there was different areas of seating for guests, so that there was space to sit and relax. The views of a day were exceptional and even better of a night with a sunset view. The private beach was amazing and the room was clean, spacious and smelt amazing !! The spa facilities a highlight of our stay. The staff at chuini lodge went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met at all times. They were so welcoming, friendly and smiley which was really nice to see everyday during our stay. Spa facilities were calm and relaxing and staff there were also lovely.
There was nothing to dislike !

The breakfast was excellent. The lunch and dinner were a bit on the expensive side, but overall, they were delicious. The staff was very kind to us, and the manager did an amazing job communicating with the guests. The manager even gave us an after-sun cream and a hat for safari. Overall our stay was amazing we recommend it if you ever travel to Zanzibar.
Transportation is challenging because the nearest town or restaurant requires a taxi.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lodge has a nice rustic look and feel to it including the well-manicured gardens which are beautifully. Food is very good, and that area is very scenic. Staff had access to other facilities which were not on their premises, they simply phone ahead and made arrangements i.e. gym, horse riding, deep-sea trip, trips to the islands, etc.
No hot water in my room for 2 days. Beaches in that area were not so great for swimming.

Gorgeous location, view and atmosphere. The perfect place to relax, with lovely welcoming and attentive staff
The hotel is secluded (which is great) but no other places to eat/ get snacks unless you’re going out on day trips - Not a problem for us as we are staying at other locations on the island and this was our relax and do nothing stop, but if you stayed here for 7days+ something to bare in mind
