What a wonderful place to spend a few days in Zanzibar! Arriving at the airport at 0830, the car that the hotel had booked was waiting for me. At the hotel, I was warmly welcomed and offered a drink which I took on the terrace that looks directly over to the Indian Ocean - palm trees gently swaying, the banana plantation below. Although I'd arrived ridiculously early, by 1030 my room was ready for me which was very welcome after a long flight. I made use of the access to the beach which is reached down steps through the banana trees, and was greeted warmly by the occasional local person walking to and fro. Extremely peaceful, and very pretty. Food in the hotel was reasonably priced and very tasty - I had lunch, dinner and breakfast at different points during my brief stay. Comfortable bed, ample hot water, mosquito prevention measures every evening.

Would have welcomed a comfy chair in the room, but that's all I can think of!

Staff was very kind and helpful and the hotel is located at beautiful spot, with great view and very peaceful. We even when down to the small beach strip to swim. There's some rubbish on the beach sadly, but we found a clear spot. Breakfast was also very good.

We booked a superior double room with garden view and for the first night were given a room that was definitely a lower standard. It was small, right by the hallway, under the stairs and no really option to open the window because there was a breakfast table right outside the window so no garden view either. We could hear everyone coming in late and waking up early at 6am. Bathroom was also outdated. However, the staff were very kin. For the second night they organised us a bigger and quieter room (still not sure what the superior room should have looked like) and didn't charge for the extra guest.

Rooms are nice, good aircon, good bed, very nice breakfast, beautiful colonial building, magnificent views from the terrace, excellent and caring staff. All in all, a good place

Due to constant power cuts, the staff just waits until things are back to normal, and do not bother to check if the problem is in their own place. It happened at the middle of the night - an electricity cut the caused the aircon and ventilator to stop functioning and soon after - the temperatures started to rise. After some time , we had to wake up the hotel staff who were sound asleep to find out that there was a problem with the hotel system and not a general power cut. Not even a regret or apology - it seemed oh so natural to them. This attitude is the reason I gave the hotel only 8.

Excellent value for the pricetag! While it was slightly outside of the town, the property was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was large with hot water, and the grounds were beautifully lush with greenery. The breakfast was delicious, and we also enjoyed a great meal from one of their partner restaurants. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely stay here again when visiting Zanzibar.

Beach was very far from the property but still a walking distance.

Our flight landed very early in the morning, so we picked this hotel as it was close to the airport. It was about 10-15min in the taxi. Security guard greeted us, gave room key, provided all the information and let us rest. We didn't go for breakfast as we wanted to sleep as long as possible before moving to another location, but hotel staff were very friendly and offered us coffee with some toast. Room was clean, just bathroom needs to be refreshed, but it was also clean!

The Hotel is located on a hill with a great view surrounded by greenery. It is a small green oasis with a beautiful terrace where you can relax very well. My room had a large comfortable bed and everything I needed. The breakfast could be put together from a manu card and it was very tasty. The fresh juices are incredibly delicious. I can also highly recommend the dinner menu. But the best thing is the friendliness of the staff! A big thank you from the bottom of my heart 💖 goes especially to Diana, Richard and Sada! Property has incredible views! The staff was exceptional and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable.

They moved us to another hotel on the first day as it had rained the previous day and they told us that tour room had flooded. They took us to another hotel which was green turaco. We were not happy with the options given to us but had to go with this as we did not want to travel again looking for hotels. Never ever goto Green Turaco ! Super dirty hotel.

The house is really beautiful and with a nice sea view. Perfect location 10min in car to Stone Town and 7 min to the Airport. Super friendly staff, especially Richard helped us out of difficult situation. Good value for money.

The house is huge, the room is not small neither, however they put a very big bed on it make it has limited space for luggages, the breakfast can be improved a bit.

The property gives you majestic feel since floor is from marble, ceiling is very high and the impression is similar to one after you visit a castle or a mansion. Exquisite sunset views from lying beds in the garden. Abundant breakfasts. Slept best there in 14 days-trip.

At low-tide, the sea below the property turns to swamp. The feel of property appears to be cold and distant due to marble and high ceiling. But, staff gives their best to make you feel welcomed!
