Fantastic family run stay, with a very friendly and helpful host. We thoroughly enjoyed the time, we spent in Khao Sok at Las Orquideas. The room was big, super clean and very cozy. Bathroom was good with enough hot water for showers. The garden & pool area is just beautiful and makes you truly immerse in a jungle vibe. The breakfast ala cart is yummy & filling. We also definitely recommend eating here at least once for dinner, as the Thai dishes are super delicious! The best part is the laid-back and helpful host, who will make sure you enjoy your time at his place & in the area. You can book lots of different tours & trips to explore the surroundings and delve deeper into the jungle around you. He went on the tours himself, making the offers authentic and he can exactly tell you what to expect. You can lend all the necessary equipment for exploring, like head lamps, dry bags or shoes, for free. Thanks for the great (short) time!

The owners of Las Orquideas and the staff are fantastic. They booked our incoming and outgoing car transfers, all our tours with pickups from the hotel (full-day lake, elephant sanctuary, national park trek) and made great breakfast for us. We felt really well taken care off from start to finish and this alone made it the perfect spot for our stay in Khao Sok. The room we had with a double bed downstairs and two twin beds upstairs worked well for our family with 2 kids (age 3 and 6). There is a separate AC units for each level, so temperature and humidity were not a problem (remember to switch the AC to dry mode). Beds were comfortable. There is daily housekeeping and free drinking water. Across the road is a supermarket with ATM and express laundry service. Within short walking distance are some great restaurants (try Pawns and Thai Herb) and Thai massages. Great location.

If you don't like the jungle, you won't like Las Orquideas but then also Khao Sok in general is likely not the place for you. Las Orquideas has a well-kept garden jungle. On the way between the reception and our room, we encountered frogs, cicadas, geckos, caterpillars, snails, squirrels, many birds, bats, mosquitoes and a lot of different flowers, palms and trees. At night, you will hear a concert of animals. We actually loved all of this and the jungle experience, but it may not be for everyone. Also for the mosquitoes: There were quite some outside. They made using the pool infeasible for us. But we never encountered them in our room and they were not a problem with the fans in the reception area.

The gardens in the resort and the bungalows ate very beautiful and characteristic. The breakfast is simple but very delicious, really worth it. The beds were fantastic. The owners are very social and will help with everything. We needed a last minute transport with less than a day notice. They got all essential tours ready to book.

The resort and rooms are not very modern. This did not bother us at all to be honest. The water did not work when we arrived but the owners were available all the time, responded quick and fixed it quick. So actually also good. The only downside is that they only accept cash. The ATM is on the other side of the road. So, getting the cash is easy but the fee on the ATM makes everything more expensive. If we could pay with creditcard instead it would save us.

This is the best hotel you can stay in when coming to Khao Sok, I’m telling you. It’s within walking distance to the entrance of Khao Sok national park and all the nice restaurants. The resort is beautiful with all the bungalows on different terraces. The bungalow has actual brick walls so no uninvited crawler friends walking in and out. The rooms are very nicely decorated, traditional but also modern, just like the reception/breakfast area. Fridge, ventilator and air conditioning are all present. The beds were really nice. I love that this resort is trying to reduce all the plastic waste by giving you two glass bottles that you can refill whenever you want. You are literally staying on the edge of the jungle, so we did hear the monkeys on the roof during the early mornings, but never got to see them, unfortunately. At night the frogs will make sure you hear that they’re there. There are a lot of exotic plants in the garden of this resort and it also has a small pool. When you do go there, try the banana pancakes for breakfast with a cup of black coffee. Haven’t had a better breakfast during my stay in Thailand. And then there is the American owner of the resort. He’s there 24/7 to help you with whatever it is you want. It’s nice to see someone putting his heart into the place. So don’t look any further. Just go and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Anya, the staff, she was so nice and funny. The garden where the rooms are in, is very beautifull and tropical. It was a very atmospheric accommodation and booking tours was really easy. We arrived around 14:30 and still managed to visit the elephants and tubing the same afternoon. The one day tour to the Lake was fantastic! We could also borrow special watershoes from Anya which were very usefull.

The watertap in our house (nr 2) had very very low waterpressure (the shower was okay though).

Everything was perfect from the first moment! Starting with the transfer to the hotel (best driver = Nong!), the warm welcome from Hunnie & Mike, the super cute and well-maintained bungalow in a dreamlike jungle environment (at the last morning I was woken up by monkeys playing on the roof of my bungalow 🤩) , the delicious breakfast (I recommend the Jok Kai!) , the great arranged tours and the top organised onward transfer to the west (again with Nong👍) . It is great how much effort and passion is put into this! I felt almost at home the whole time and Mike and the lovely staff are mainly responsible for that! It was really exceptional and I wish I had spent more time at La Orquideas! Hope to see you again!

Wonderful landscaping (jungle). Friendly, young, new owners (US/Canadian couple). Quiet location. The owners can arrange/book various tours/excursions for guests. It's just a short walk to the National Park, via a street full of nice shops and restaurants. Not a big issue, but be aware that the decor in the rooms is a little basic/frugal -- like all accommodations in this location. From this location, it's possible to directly do hiking / night safari in the National Park. For boating, one must first do a 1-hour car journey by road to reach a boat jetty -- this is included in lake excursion packages.

Lovely surroundings and good location, friendly and helpfull people, nice looking rooms. Bed was comfy too, which is nice for a change :) You are minutes away from some nice restaurants and beautiful surroundings to explore by feet. Assistance at the hotel is great.

It would have been nice if there were some matresses on the lounge beds at the pool, if the rooms were a bit more aired before arrival to avoid damp sheets and towels, and if some items were renewed, but that's really more a suggestion than an complaint because value for money is great and those things don't affect the 'jungle experience'.

We were a group of 6 people staying in 3 bungalows. + clean bungalows + clean linen and towels + beautiful garden and well-maintained area + hot water in the shower + electric kettle, fridge in each house + free drinking water supplies every day + nice pool + delicious breakfast (4 options to choose including delicious jok kai, coffee, tea) + very friendly and helpful staff + welcome drink (coconut water) + our bags were taken uphill by the staff + possibility to organize tours and transport

Better bungalows were located uphill so bear it in mind if you have any health issues :)
