Very nice rooms, excellent breakfast buffee with multiple different kind of food options. Good pool close to the beach. Good service to rent snorkeling equipments and kayaks. Good service and food at the restaurant, but we lightly missed more happiness and smile from staff. Atmosphere is a bit sad and not welcoming.

We missed trash pins around area. We also wanted to pick up trash from the sea and put it somewhere to collect it. Sometimes we felt that we are not welcome, because staff is not smiling or shown any happiness, maybe it’s cultural thing or they are just too over worked. Also trafic and noice from long tail boats is terrible!

Pleasantly surprised by this resort of which I had some doubts at first. The shining star for us was the restaurant (The Cove Bistro) - eat to your hearts delight (or until you drop) with so much variety in addition to amazing seafood options and affordability. Also, if you spend over some amounts at the restaurant, you get discounts at the Starbucks counter. The resort is well situated with a small island right in front of it. You can swim, snorkel or kayak to this island with ease or just chill on the beach which is clean and sandy. There are two large pools, one with a bar. The room was so spacious and modern, had a massive bathtub and a shower. The rooms walks out onto a balcony that is directly connected to the upper pool, and has lounge chairs and a hanging nest to swing around in. The staff really are the spirit of Thailand: kind, friendly, helpful and engaging. Also, if you're an animal lover, there are also doggos and cats to welcome you.

Aircon in the room started coming apart but luckily did not completely, as the heat on the island is insane. Few things around the property started needing maintenance too. However all this said, the resort is aware seemingly of these and during our stay there were teams fixing things and especially the aircons, so they are actively working on them.

Great and modern hotel, at beach front. Guess we were lucky to get a room close to the beach and main pool so this is plus to the team! Great variety on the breakfast, and prices on the pool and restaurant are a bit on high side but ok. Happy hour have good deals though!! Hotel is located in the southern part of sunset beach, which is a more private area, so best way to reach is tuk-tuk. Nice organized pickup and drop-off from the pier.

The main downside is the several boats in front of the hotel, which create not the best views, and water gets with some gasoline smell. They offer 1hr kayak for guests, but could also do snorkeling (which you need to pay for)

We’ve stayed here before and loved it so was looking forward to returning. Wasn’t disappointed, if anything it has slightly improved since our visit five years ago. Great location, great breakfast, comfortable rooms and very clean. Perfect really.

The only disappointing thing was nothing to do with the hotel. People reserved the sun beds really early, if you got to the beach after 9am they were all taken with towels, books etc, a lot of the time people didn’t arrive to the reserved beds until the afternoon. Felt sorry for the staff who had to put the chairs and umbrellas up, they literally couldn’t work fast enough to please the waiting chair huggers!

After staying at various hotels in East Asia, Idyllic Concept was by far the best. The beach was powdery white sand, sea was clear and blue. Local restaurants and bars were plentiful and excellent. The Idyllic Hotel provided fantastic facilities, a full and varied breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms and the staff were simply outstanding. The Beach team were headed by the very professional lady called On. She was cheerful, friendly and extremely efficient. Her team was incredibly dedicated and were always mega helpful, Tam, Yaseen and Chareef were superb. The Restaurant team was consistently on the ball and provided terrific customer service. This was undoubtedly due to a "Force of Nature," a lovely lady called Nan. She lead from the front and was a wonderful influence on her very able team. The hotel provided great transportation by way of shuttle to / from Walking Street. Min was so polite and friendly as was Pong. The hotel had a happy hour and the staff were top notch, particularly a young man called Sky. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Lastly, the Reception staff were always so kind and helpful. However, the very best customer service came from a gentleman called Lai. He was exceptional. The cleaning staff and gardeners were amazing, so dedicated they made the hotel beautiful.

Wonderful staff, always going the extra mile to make us happy. For example, we booked a private boat trip but forgot to buy seasickness pills. A very nice lady by the swimming pool area arranged for some to be brought to us within a few minutes. Also the place is just in front of a beautiful beach. We stayed on a Deluxe Premium Garden View on high floor, and the room was very nice, spacious, and with a balcony and nice seaview.

I strongly disliked being forced to install the hotel's application on my phone (The staff refused complete the check-in without it). The hotel should just put a QR code that you can scan and access in your browser instead. Check-in process also takes a long time (which probably can't be helped because many guests arrive at the same time on the same boat). Hand shower in the room did not stay in place (but we could use the roof shower instead). Finally, the taste and quality of pastries (croissants, waffles, pancaques) could be improved.

The hotel is beautiful, with a charming decor and two excellent pools. Our room was clean and full of thoughtful touches—like a straw beach bag and hats for us to use, which added a lovely touch. The front desk staff, however, could have been more welcoming and helpful. In contrast, the restaurant staff were truly kind and attentive, making our dining experiences very pleasant. The breakfast was good, though not particularly remarkable, but the à la carte menu for other meals was excellent—everything we ordered was delicious. On the beach, there were plenty of comfortable sunbeds with umbrellas, which we really appreciated. Overall, a very comfortable stay in a stunning setting.

Staff were all great. Lovely pool areas, comfy sunbeds. Free use of the kayaks is great. Nice big rooms, filled with all the required amenities. The free shuttle to the town centre in the evenings and to/from the ferry is really helpful. The gym is huge and has a very impressive selection of equipment.

It’s showing signs of age a little, but they are in the process of making updates throughout the property and the rooms. They battle the elements with regular rain and humidity so natural wear is expected, but there also seemed to be a lot of damage to surfaces, particularly in the bathrooms, where the wrong cleaning products had been used (eg bleach stains on wooden doors) or things hadn’t been cleaned properly (barnacles on the bottom of the taps). Sometimes it felt there was too many staff and it actually made things less efficient - the beach bar especially.

Location is paradise. No beach vendors almost private beach. Quiet. Nice. Beautiful. Snorkeling just in front of the beach. Take care of the strong currents during low tide.

The resorts need a floor manager to inspire staff to do something: clean the astray from the chinese on the floor, clear the floor, try to remember what we ordered (6 out of 10 they forgot something) try to maintain the weeds and outside. Do something about rotten outside of the beautiful buildings) etc

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and loved every moment of it. The resort's backyard beach, located on Sunrise Beach, was stunning – a real highlight of our visit. Its location couldn't be more perfect. The breakfast was not only delicious but also set the right tone for the day. While the on-site restaurant offered great dining experiences, it was a bit pricey. However, for those looking for more budget-friendly yet equally delightful options, there are several restaurants within walking distance (just a quick Google search away). The staff were the epitome of hospitality – friendly, helpful, and incredibly respectful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this resort and have no complaints whatsoever. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
