I’ve just spent 8 nights at Mira Mare and was totally BLOWN AWAY. It far surpassed my expectations. From the seamless communications during the booking process, arranging airport transfers and the eventual warm welcome on arrival. If you’re looking for a flashy, commercial resort with the often unnecessary “bells and whistles” (as one would get with the bigger brands) then this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for a relaxed stay in a wonderful, homely environment right on the beach with stunning views and ambience, casual yet amazing service and really great food (both Thai and Western) at very reasonable prices, then this is DEFINITELY the place for you. It’s close enough to the action if that’s your thing but far enough to allow for seclusion and an immersive local experience. From the hands-on owner who works tirelessly alongside the friendly staff, nothing was ever too much to ask. The rooms aren’t the most modern and in my opinion it only adds to the charm, but they are clean, comfortable, fit for purpose, the air conditioning works well with the outside seating area by each room being a wonderful plus. As a current travel industry professional and hotelier of many years with both, leading global brands and independent boutique ones, I couldn’t find anything to fault and will definitely be back.

Only disappointment would be that the restaurant closes at 7pm (perfectly understandable as guests go out in the evenings and keeping the restaurant open wouldn’t be viable).

The individual wooden properties were lovely, really quaint! Very clean. On the beach the sunbeds were very old, dirty and not many of them. We were told that we could take plastic chairs down to the beach with us if we wanted. The resort is located a 2 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Lamai town, we stayed for 8 days and tried so many different street food options (which is what we came to Thailand for) we were not disappointed. Mira was very helpful and gave us some good recommendations. There is also a ‘tour shop’ on the corner just as you leave the report. ‘Kohsamui.tours’ the lady in here was very helpful, we booked 3 excursions with her while we were there.

Nothing to dislike, the sunbeds are just an observation that could perhaps be looked at sometime.

Mira and her staff were amazing. Being right at the beach is superb. Rooms have small balcony which was nice and you can dry your beach towels etc there. You get beach towels from the staff, just ask for them. Thai rice soup for breakfast was delicious.

Pillow was very big and hard. I used decorative pillow instead. Toilet could use a squeegee to dry the floors.

In the centre of Lamai, good location, right on the beach, basic room but all the essentials and necessities are there and provided, breakfast on property was delicious, staff were friendly. Lamai night market (15 min walk) is a must for good food and vibes. I can’t comment on the nightlife because that wasn’t the purpose of our stay but from what I could see there were plenty of places for it in town. A few beach bars nearby do fire shows which were spectacular!

Mira Mare is a calm place on the Lamai Beach. The personnel is just amazing, its a very lovely family that is helpful and very friendly. They can help you to rent a scooter, take a trip and give you useful tips. They are always smiling and welcoming. The location is great, beach is very pretty and clean, water very refreshing. There are sunbeds and lots of shadow from palms and trees on the beach. There is so much nature that you hear birds and you can fully relax. There is a massage place right at the beach, and it's very good! The restaurant is very nice as well, tasty and good! I highly recommend Mira Mare, it's a hidden gem!

Excellent location, on the beach, in a quiet area yet close to shops and restaurants. The owners are very kind and helpful. The restaurant serves tasty cheap food.

The place could do with extra tlc, but after 2 years of pandemic, we understand this may not be the priority for a family run business.

Amazing stay at Mira Mare! This resort is exceptional. The location is great with the beach just a few steps away and not too busy. The bungalows have everything you need and are clean. The restaurant serves excellent food with good variety and for a good price. The staff are really nice and helpful.

Some cushions for the sun loungers on the beach would be a great addition. There was also no hot water in our bathroom for the shower, which due to the heat wasn’t a big issue for us.

A beautiful location, right on the sea front. Free access to sun loungers if you want them. Short walk into the business of the town if you want it but also far enough away to be quiet. The lady who runs the place is lovely, she will go out of her way to organise anything for you, taxis, moped etc. and for a fair price. She took time to ask how we were all the time and greeted us with a smile.

Nothing to complain about from us!

The resort is too cute to describe it with words. It is on amazing location, few minutes walk from the bars and restaurants, few steps away from the one of the most beautiful beach on the island. Room was as desribed in info. The staff is amazing; helpul and always with smile, even if is busy. The breakfast was also really nice and the coffee was 10+ every morning.

Mira and her staff were exceptional, made me feel right at home, I loved the cabin I stayed in, it was exactly how Thailand should be. The restaurant and food was outstanding and good value for money, right on the beach front and walking distance to some lovely restaurants and bars! I'm planning a trip again next year and will definitely stay there again! Thanks again Mira for making my holiday! 🙏
