the mattress was to soft for us, we would recommend to choose a medium-hard mattress so it’s not super soft and not super hard - knowing that mattress tastes can be very individual :)

Comfortable and spacious room at a great price. We had the window room with lots of natural light - the rooms without windows might have felt a little dark and cavernous. The bed was comfortable, the shower and bathroom were great, and we had everything we needed. It was nice they had a shared kitchen and laundry available for use in the lobby area - we didn’t use them but appreciate these kinds of facilities being available.

The hotel is down a quiet street - nice for sleeping, but within the building you hear the clanging of doors open and closing. The room was clean, fresh and modern, but could have benefitted from a bit more artfulness.

The receptionists were very helpful and friendly. We had a 3 am check in and Alex helped us check in very fast and smoothly. Its just a 10 min walk from icon siam. This hotel was the perfect stop before our krabi/ phuket trip. The bathroom was spacious and had good water pressure. There was a dryer & washer available for use as well.

Hallway noises from other guests can be easily heard from your room. I wish the rooms were more soundproof. Since there were a lot of late night check-ins, i wouldn't recommend this to people who are light sleepers. Or make sure you bring some ear plugs

The hotel was beautiful inside, exceeding my expectations. It was also close to everything, literally walking distance, like the Iconsiam, BTS and nearby MRT/train stations, the Chao Phraya river, close to convenience stores and other shops, etc. It is accessible as well The building was clean with a minimalist look but aesthetically designed. Good value for money, too. There was an effective elevator that actually performed like a 5-star hotel kind of elevator. It wasn't slow nor too tiny compared to the other hotels we've been to. The room was spacious enough for the amount we paid and despite being a small hotel than other big hotel chains, and the toilet was also big and shower had a nice hot water. The bed was big enough for us and it was so comfortable, we slept soundly and the staff would routinely clean the place very well. One great feature as we liked was the fact that there was a laundry machine at no extra cost, with free powdered soap and they allowed guests to use it and hang the clothes at the rooftop. We also had the chance to chill at the rooftop at night. And the main treasure of the hotel are simply the staff, specifically the beautiful Alex, who was so accommodating to us and made us feel like family. She was great managing the place and attending to the needs and enquiries of the guests. It felt like home away from home. I will definitely recommend this place and would come back to this hotel on my future trips to Bangkok! =)

Currently they don't serve breakfast but they do have a dining area to eat your takeaways/orders. Grab Eats would easily find the place and also there are nearby shops/restaurants and the popular Iconsiam just a few minutes walk, where we usually went to every time we were hungry.

Very spacious, clean, stylish main room and connecting room with two great ensuite bathrooms, good wifi, and coffee, quiet property (& great to recover from jetlag) in a busy lively neighborhood, walking distance to IconSiam (interesting modern shopping mall with food court ), plenty of restaurants around, very helpful staff at check-in

The connecting (just a double-bed size) room had no windows, ideal for 2 children but might be problematic for some grown-ups, to see main Bangkok attraction you need to accept that there is THB100-150 cab ride involved, and no 24hr reception (not even during the day, I believe only when guests are expected) which might make ad-hoc help/information request cumbersome - however, you can always reach and ask per phone... Management tried to contact me via email to arrange payment before check out (which I did not like) and I was also not reading my emails or going into the app

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Loved the location of the hotel which was on a side street and away from the main road. Bedding is comfortable, service is warm and rooms are quiet. There is a row of stalls located on the same side street (just as you exit the main road to walk to the hotel) that are actually very good. The first stall sells drinks and we only realised almost to the end of our stay that they do good drinks. The stall owner even speaks decent English. There is also a fruit stall vendor on a motorbike that sets up in the mornings if you ever need fresh fruit. Love the Thai tangerines. There is a 24 hour convenience store at the entrance of the side street that's well stocked and with an ATM for cash. Many more food options on the side street directly opposite (across the main road). Icon Siam is an easy 5 minute walk away but the ground floor food court is too expensive and crowded. Food offerings are better in other shopping malls. Shopping is great though.

Deeper knowledge of the local area for sharing would be appreciated - where to get great local food at various odd hours of the day, which nearby stalls are good, etc.

For the price the location and facilities of this hotel are exceptional. The room and bathroom size, bed and quality of the linen are excellent. The hotel is located off the main street within about 500m of Icon Siam and is very quiet, staff are fantastic and there is a rooftop terrace with great night views over Bangkok for a quiet beer. The hop on hop off boat is available at icon Siam which is a nice easy way to get around the city. Absolutely couldn't fault this hotel

Loved the location, only 10min walk to ICONSIAM where you have great shopping, souk, cinema, restaurants and bars. From the pier you can catch the Hop on Hop off boat and explore Chao Phraya River. The staff at VARMTEL are friendly and helpful. The hotel has a bohemian boutique vibe to it and it was clean. If you need to wash there is a laundry machine in the building and you can hang out and dry your clothes on the rooftop terrace. Bed is comfy and the water pressure in the shower is good too.

I liked everything but it would be great if there was soap and a towel next to the basin that is located outside of the bathroom. I wanted to use my VISA card as payment but was advised that the machine was broken so I had to pay cash. Later in the evening when I got back to the hotel a new staff member was on duty so asked if the machine was working so I could pay with my cc the following day and he said that it's not a problem. I ended up paying with my cc although the hotel seems to prefer cash. Still very happy with my stay and would happily come back.

Great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the laundry and shared-kitchen facilities. Small property but cosy and did not feel cramped. Great natural lighting as well. The rooms were very spacious. Well designed and furnished. Bathrooms were clean. Block out curtains were great, too, especially for our jetlag and after our long-haul flight. After travelling throughout Europe for 5 weeks with plumbing or hot water issues in almost 90% of the properties we stayed in, it was heavenly to finally have a shower with hot water and good pressure, at more than less than half the cost also. Great service, food, and hospitality. It had a very homely feel when you entered the premises, with the informal and casual seating areas, communal kitchen, and friendly staff welcoming you on entry. Really nice vibe. Thanks for the lovely stay. I would definitely recommend it. Do not hesitate to book!
