The room was very cozy and spacious, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The staff was really kind and helpful, they supported us in organizing some tours and were always friendly and attentive. The swimming pool inside the property is also a great bonus, very enjoyable for a quick dip after exploring the city. The location is excellent: right at the entrance of the old town and just a short walk from the night market, ideal for discovering the area on foot.

The only thing that could be improved is the sweet breakfast, which had limited variety. The savory options were more complete and satisfying.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect stay – highly recommended! We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Golden Bell. The name “Golden Bell” is thoughtfully reflected in many design elements throughout the hotel, creating a harmonious and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a very comfortable bed, which gave us an excellent night’s sleep. The breakfast was good – you can clearly see that the hotel puts in great effort to offer something suitable for guests from all over the world. That’s not an easy task, but they manage it in a very thoughtful and friendly way. We would especially like to highlight the friendly and accommodating staff, who were always open to requests. Close to the hotel, there is a small market with a variety of food stalls, which added even more charm to our stay. We would definitely book this hotel again – if only it weren’t so far away. Truly recommended!

The location is perfect, very close to the centre and everything you might want, yet tucked away in a little cul-de-sac so very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast had a good selection with both Asian and Western options. All the staff had enough English to communicate and do their jobs well, and they were all very helpful. The pool is great and big enough to swim properly.

Now i am being very fussy: as with most hotels, the room key needs to be in a slot to use the lights and a/c in the room. This slot is hidden behind the sliding bathroom door. Just a little confusing at first as i couldn't find it. Also, i would love to have had a USB charging point in the room. A few hotels have these now and they are very useful when traveling internationally.

We've stayed at this hotel the very first time we were in Chiang Mai and just fell in love with it. Eight years later we are back in Chiang Mai and were thrilled to see that Golden Bell still existed (especially after the pandemic) and still had the same charm. Located just outside the old city wall (by Chiang Mai's gate) it offers you a relaxing place where to rest after a whole day of temple hopping. Should you visit Chiang Mai over a weekend you will find that the Saturday night market is just a couple of streets away! We had a room upgrade and our room was amazing! Spacious and very quiet. Staff was super friendly and attentive and the breakfast was perfect! We will definitely be coming back (hopefully in less than 8 years time)

Honestly, there's nothing I would change

I stayed, on two separate occasions, in one of the larger rooms that overlook the pool and couldn't be more happy with my stay. The hotel is at the end of an alley, far enough away from the main road that there is no traffic noise. Breakfast was good, the pool was great for cooling down on hot days and they have parking available right next to the hotel. Would happily stay here again.

The location is perfect, in a quiet area close to shops and food stalls. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was nice and decent. Laundry service available. All the Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Olivia at the reception. Would recommend this hotel. Value for money.

The breakfast had a lot of variety. Very satisfying! The location was central and easy to explore on foot. Close to the Chiang Mai Gate and the old city. Only a short 12 minute taxi ride to the airport. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Really liked the warm, helpful and friendly receptionist! She made us feel very welcome!

Unfortunately we arrived in the afternoon with construction workers busy below making a lot of noise. Of course this was completely out of the hotel's control. There was nothing we were unhappy with in relation to the staff and facilities.

-The location, this hotel is really well situated. Easy access to the restaurants’ area and the night markets. - Access to free water bottles all day long, which is really useful in Thailand. - The staff of the hotel was great. - The access 24h/24h to free water bottle especially when you are traveling with babies.

-The swimming pool wasn’t that clean. At some corners of the pool there was green mold. - The baby cot was an old one and the blankets weren’t washed properly. Finally we had the baby sleeping with us in the king size bed.

The best feature of the hotel is the close proximity to a small night market with lots of street food. It’s a small hotel with some charm but it provides everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate

Despite being in a small cul de sac there was a lot noise from outside into the early hours of the morning. There was some construction work nearby that didn’t start till midnight!! To be fair this finished the last day of my stay.

Location was perfect at the end of a quiet soi and super close to the Chiang Mai gate and all Old City activities. Staff were lovely, ccommodating, and friendly.

Beds were a little hard which is pretty standard in Thailand. Breakfast was just ok.
