A well managed property, it was clean and services was in order. Room was comfortable, there was a nice rooftop great to sit and have a drink or snack. The pool was good and clean. Not so much option for breakfast, but it was good considering the reasonable price. Staff all were polite and happy to help. Information provided in the booking page was totally accurate and updated. I recommend an stay.
Adjusting the water temperature when taking a shower was nightmare! Also, water direction from the shower head was towards the bathroom door making outside wet! Other than everything was good.

I really liked our stay in The Opium and definitely I would like to return there some day. The hotel has a good vibe: it's quiet and you can relax there, it's stylish and has cosy rooms. The staff is great, really helpful. Also rooms were cleaned every day. Breakfast was plentiful, and there was a large selection to choose. The opium is located quite far away from the city centre, and we had some issues with catching a transport. On the other hand, there were a lot of useful businesses around: laundries, restaurants, shops, street food stalls etc. Oh, I almost forgot to mention a really nice terrace with beautiful view! We really enjoyed staying in The Opium. Highly recommended!
The bathroom was a little bit smelly

The property was welcoming and also tucked away from the main road, which meant it was quiet and peaceful at night. We stayed in an apartment and it was very spacious. The apartment was cleaned every day and to a good standard. Staff were always friendly and super welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Sometimes when we ran the tapwater, it came out black, but I assume it’s just a bit of dirt from the tank which is common in Asia. Just make sure to run the tap before getting in the shower! The sofa wasn’t as comfortable as we would’ve liked, but for the price it was brilliant. There was a TV in both the living room and the bedroom which is great for separate viewing.

Room: we were actually so surprised about the size of our room 😂 it felt like we got a whole apartment. It was huge, clean, super nice to have a couch and we just loved it! Staff: very friendly, helpful, thoughtful and really good in their jobs Pool area: the pool is really nice. You have different levels of how deep you want to go in, things to play with (balls, worms,..) and the hotel provided towels what was great. They had many chairs around it but it did not feel packed. You could have your private space and the chairs we had were much more comfortable than most beach chairs. Gym: best gym in a hotel that I have been to (room for interpretation). It is devided in two rooms for cardio and strength. Towels provided again. Variety of tools and machines. Rooftop: simple but nice! Beautiful view of the mountain and peaceful :) Breakfast: you have many options and should chose the day before what you want and around what time you want to eat. We loved to have breakfast there as it was really tasty and easy. Location: it seems to be a bit outside as everyone is hyping the old town but we loved the area. Everything is close (7 11, smoothie place, local food - go to the older man 3 mins walk from the hotel. Yummy food) and if you want to go somewhere grab is cheap and quick One last thing I was really surprised with.. Guests: everyone was really nice and even that you saw them for the first time most of the people greeted and you felt the happiness and relaxing vibe

The hotel was located outside the Old City walls, ideal for a quieter location and easily accessed by walking or tuktuk. Hotel was clean, had free water everyday, breakfast was available. The room was large and had a fridge and microwave. The pool was ideal for cooling off after a morning of sightseeing. The staff were all extremely professional and friendly. They went above what would be expected to assist with enquiries or help book tours.
Some of the guests 'reserved' the sunbeds around the pool, even if they had left the hotel. This was no fault of the hotel but merely the selfishness of a small number of people.

The size of the room is excellent and the bed is fabulous. The walk in shower is great and I love that there are fly wires which allows me to keep the windows open continually as I never use air conditioning. Chiang Mai is a very busy city with lots of traffic and the quietness at The Opium is wonderful. The pool is lovely and the roof top is a great asset. The staff is amazing, from the manager, to the reception, to those serving breakfast and the lovely young ladies cleaning my room each day, they are all wonderful and I love them all! 🙏🙏🙏 OPIUM
The location is not totally ideal as it is a little far from the centre but the rest makes up for that. I feel very much at home at The Opium and I want to thank everyone and hope to see you again.

The layout of the hotel is wonderful with open plan reception overlooking the pool and gym which is a great way to interact with other guests. Gym has a lot of equipment (treadmill doesn’t really work, but all machines are fine). Reception has drinks and snacks in fridges, perfect for lounging by the lovely pool after a hot day of temple hopping. Pool is surrounded but a very tall tropical garden which provides total escapism from the bustling town. Breakfast room has been renovated and is a lovely air conditioned space overlooking the ponds. It is not buffet, you need to order each time but is limits wastage I guess. Reception team were all super friendly and helpful. There hotel has its own mini bus, they can pickup from airport and train station for free or low fare depending. Hotel isn’t walking distance to old town. But you can a ride from the hotel or call a very cheap MAXIM cab.
The hotel is undergoing renovation. The work noise is only taking place between 11am-5pm so it affected us the first day when we were trying to rest after that wee were out during the day so it was fine. The bedroom and bathroom were really dated.

We loved our stay the Opium chaing mai. It was a bit outside of the old town but it wasn't a much of problem as they excursions we had booked could pick up from the hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful throughout the stay. We had booked a massage on the last day through the hotel and it was literally the best one I had. The massage was arranged in our room so it was very comfortable and relaxing. Me and my boyfriend had a couple massage. They also have a small pool as well as top floor deck for sub bathing. The best part about this stay was the room was massive and the bed was the big and comfy. We loved our stay here

We had an amazing 4 night's stay at The Opium Chiang mai From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality and excellent service. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep after a day of exploring. Housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping everything fresh and tidy throughout our stay. A special shout-out to the staff, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend The Opium Chiang mai to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. We can’t wait to come back!

I stayed first one night before my old parents arrived to check their accomodation and then I have stayed about more than a week. I feel so thankful to every each staffs who work there.I felt at home and my parents loved the hotel with full of beautiful and colourful plants and wonderful northern Thai decoration. Hotel was booked out easily so I had to booked multiple times almost each day but staffs were very helpful organising our accomodation so that we didn't have to moved to another room too much.. All the rooms that myself and my parents stayed together were big. One room with a living space with a kitchen facility. Each bed sheets were 100 percent cotton( I feel an allergic if it's synthetic) and clean and also they clean everyday if you put out the sign at the door. Although Chiangmai is so hectic, inside of hotel, you feel a paradise with a beautiful swimming pool, gym, and 4th floor terrace with an amazing view. An amazing location which are all short walking distance with fantastic local markets, restaurants, laundromats, massage center, second hands clothing shops in case if you need any extra warm clothing before you head out to North). Plus I had to take my dad who is 89 who had an emergency situation to Chiangmai Hospital which is within 5 min by car. A dentist is right next to hotel too which I have not visited yet. Before I leave Chiangmai, I also book again to stay. Ps. Also they got a weight measurer at the right next to elevator in case you do too much shopping in Chiangmai.😅 And also they provide a luggage storage which I left my bag before I head out to North. Thank you very much to Opium Chiangmai.🙏💞☮️
