A lovely small boutique hotel. I loved that you could get breakfast any time - no rushing down before buffet closes as in larger hotels. The restaurant is open 7am-5pm so no evening meals but if you turn right out of hotel and walk about 400 metres there is a very good beach front restaurant. Jerome and Amy are so helpful. The first morning my wife was feeling unwell. I asked Jerome where nearest pharmacy was and he took me down there on his motorbike. It is a bit out of town so if you like the hustle and bustle outside your door it wont be for you but a taxi into town was easy to organise with Jerome or Amy. There is free coffee and snacks for residents in the reception area.

Nothing really - it is out of town but we knew that before we booked and only 20 mins in taxi if you want to go to busier areas.

The Villa was even better than the photos. We stayed in the three bedroom villa with lots of different areas to relax and socialise. Everything was very clean and the pool was beautiful. The service was exceptional and the owners and staff went above and beyond, even delivering fresh banana cake one morning. We had access to our Netflix and restaurants and the main beach were walking distance. A real highlight is the view of the ocean and famous rocks of Lamai from the roof deck.

The construction work was loud at times but couldn’t be helped. This was not very relaxing as was right next to our private pool. More shade and more comfortable furniture on the roof deck we would suggest. The location means that you need to walk along the main road from Lamai Beach, there is no connection through.

I loved everything about this place. I stayed in the studio just by the sea. The most fantastic view! There's a private terrasse and a private kitchen. Everything is very clean, the style is simple and cosy at the same time. All staff was very helpfull and kind. Especially Jerome, who was a great help, when my connecting flight was so delayed, that I couldn't get there in time. He rescheduled and made it all work out. Such a helpful og loving person. If you look for a place with a lot of restaurants, clubs and shops around the corner, this might not be the right place. For me - looking for some quiet time - this was the absolute best place I stayed in Koh Samui.

We loved The Rock Samui! The room was great. We were on the upper balcony and had an amazing view. The beach wasn’t deep enough for swimming when we were there but we made use of the pools. Both were great. We were able to use the villa pool which had amazing views. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was great. They have terrific coffee. It was quiet. It was near some good restaurants and close to the beach towns. We used a motor bike to get around. We also got massages everyday across the street, which was the spa the hotel recommended and the staff there did a great job.

They are still working on a few areas of the hotel so it’s not full service yet (no bar at the beach). But on the other hand we had the beach to ourselves for the most part and it was a very nice beach.

The courteous nature of Jerome and the rest of the staff was amazing. The view from the room was exceptional and the swimming pool by the beach is worth mentioning. We got our breakfast made free because we booked the private room which felt like a kind gesture. The Room in itself is aesthetic and Very thoughtful.

Some few minute points like the Tea kettle needs to be cleaned thoroughly and the tea bags and coffee to be changed everyday. The pillow was huge so a better option would help.

A fantastic find. Nice rooms, fantastic view, small but nice pool, secluded beach, kayaks to borrow, great food & coffee in the cafe/restaurant co-located with reception.

the water is very shallow at the beach so not really possible to swim. There is not much in the immediate vicinity - about 10 min walk to the grandfather & grandmother rocks (over-touristed!), another 10 min to get to the 'center' of Lamai. Recommend to arrange a scooter to make getting around easier.

•There were some construction going on around the beach pool and villa. But we had a chance to use Villa pools which made our stay excellent! Even had a jacuzzi. Kid absolutely loved the pools. •Room quite small. •Bed was a little too hard. •Air-conditioner just beside bed. Even with 27degrees was too cold. Got a sore throat after first night. Later used a ventilation mode, but it was a little too hot in the morning because of the sun. •Would love to have some cotton buds and pads etc. Otherwise totally recommend staying at this amazing beautiful place.

The perfect paradise, at the moment at a great budget as some of it is still in the making. Very friendly staff and smart management. And everything really is as beautiful, if not even more, as in the pictures. Also great location to chill I. Lamai, I was there for 3 nights and didn't even get a scooter

Best hotel I stayed at ! I can not described how grateful I am of my experience at The Rock Samui. I have been upgraded to the room in front of the sea and never felt better. Everything was amazing : the room, the sea, the swimming pool, the guy at the reception is the sweetest !

Outstanding hospitality, Jerome and his team are professional, helpful, kind and most welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel has a beautiful beach that is to be used only by the hotel guests and cleaned twice a day. Kayaks are available to explore the bay. Both the pool at the beach and the ones (incl jacuzzi) at the Villa have beautiful views. A small complimentary breakfast was provided free of charge with delicious smoothie options each morning and we also enjoyed the dinner that was delivered at our terrace every evening. Overall the whole hotel has a nice & peaceful vibe. We had an amazing time, thanks to the whole staff for making our stay memorable.

The bed we found to be too firm but Jerome has provided us with some mattress toppers to make it better. We also would have been happy with some mosquito nets installed to be able to leave the windows open for the night as an alternative to running the aircon. And indeed, as others also mentioned, some construction work is going on at the beachfront (they are building a beach side restaurant and adding some more family rooms) but it was not too disturbing especially if you are out exploring the island during the day, the pool can still be used all day. Construction of the restaurant is expected to be finalised by April 2023.
