Absolutely brilliant place to stay, so much color to the place with little sayings that just make you feel good. Off the main road, you cant hear anything, except nature. Varinda is nestled in native and has all these little paths to places, explore this place its an adventure. The owners and workers are the most hospitable, friendly and nicest people you will meet, always there if you need or want something. you can get almost anything from massage to scooters. The pools are cool and we loved them, actually loved them more than the beach lol the food is so nice at the restaurant, the room has air con so thats great, you have your own little deck to chill. Varinda Resort is quirky, private, quiet, and if your looking for somewhere different then this is the place to go. Not far from anything, if ever we go back this place is where we will go again.

My western back wasnt quite used to the harder mattress, but I just asked for a topper and wallah nice n comfy. In the kitchen area was a little fridge and table. Probably could have used another bench or table, had I asked I probably would have gotten one, but didnt really need it. There really isnt anything you need here, as its all supplied, Brilliant !!

A Magical, Enchanted Stay at Varinda Resort – A Perfect Family Retreat! We stayed at Varinda Resort on Lamai Beach as part of our family adventure in Thailand, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip! Travelling as a family of six with children aged 17, 16, 9, and 5, we needed somewhere that could cater to different ages while offering a unique and memorable experience – Varinda did exactly that and more. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the happiest, friendliest staff who made us feel at home instantly. The whole place has such a chilled-out, magical energy, and my children immediately described it as having a Disney Encanto vibe—and they weren’t wrong! The resort is bursting with colour, character, and charm, with positive affirmations and inspiring quotes dotted around, adding to its uplifting atmosphere. Everywhere you turn, there’s something new to discover—quirky decorations, vibrant murals, hidden seating areas, and winding paths that make it feel like an enchanted jungle retreat. Even when it rained, it felt like we were in a hidden tropical paradise, with the lush greenery coming alive. I genuinely couldn’t stop taking pictures; every corner of the resort is beautifully unique and full of character. The villas are authentic, comfortable, and beautifully in tune with the natural surroundings. They’re not your standard hotel rooms, but that’s exactly what makes them so special—they have a rustic, welcoming charm that made us feel connected to the place rather than just visiting. Breakfast each morning was simple but delicious, with fresh ingredients and a relaxed setting that suited the whole family. The communal areas, from the pool to the lounge spaces, are equally inviting, making it easy to relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Overall, Varinda Resort is a hidden gem. It’s a place where families can truly unwind, embrace nature, and enjoy something completely unique.

Nothing - wonderful hotel.

It's very beautiful, tranquil and unique. Also the waterslide is a huge plus for children and grown ups 😃. The staff is also super friendly. The breakfast is basic but good. Our bungalow had even a sink in the kitchen. The fans are also a plus

Everything is great. But you have to know, mosquitos can get into the room. Just take care to close the room and check them out before sleeping,then everything is good. With the roof sealing fan anyway it's no problem then. Thebeds could have mattress protection and cotton linen, but this is an extra and not Thai style 😜

Amusingly quirky establishment, with very attentive staff requiring a reasonable level of fitness from hotel guests, as there are a fair amount of steps to access the property, if walking up from the village

Couldn't really understand the need to remove our footwear before entering the breakfast room, especially with there being "open" wooden planks on the floor. Also, not all hotel guests are comfortable with the hotel dog wandering about the breakfast room, during meal service.

Varinda is just an amazing place. Real wonder land for vacation with kids! Great 3 level pool with water slide. Nice and authentic restaurant on the territory. Really kind, helpful, and polite personnel. Perfect quiet location near Lamai beach, however close to busy street with markets and cafes near Lamai beach.

Would be great to have shower curtain in the bathroom however this was really the only one issue to mention about.

The complex has character giving it the potential to be better than it is currently.. It served our needs, it's close to the beach and the unit was clean. Wi-Fi worked after some effort to get it set up. There is hot water for showers

The complex needs some renovation because it shows its age and its obvious minimum maintenance is being done to keep the complex running. There are many hills and stairs within the complex which could be an issue for people with mobility problems or have alot of luggage

It’s quirky bohemian design on different layers and levels, it’s like a cool maze of rooms. And the colours and the view from the restaurant whilst having breakfast was stunning.

Personally we were ok but if your elderly or not very mobile it is on a steep hill which ever way you come from. But with a moped it’s easy to get in and out of, plus the views at the top make it worthwhile. Also the birds and bats etc are so beautiful and cool!

We enjoyed the atmosphere which this place has thanks to it's owner. The colours and patterns are everywhere.it is not steril white. It is visible it was created by love and empathy and creativity. The staff is always very kind,smiling and helpfull ,similar as owner Olive and her mom. Loved the pool and the view. We also enjoyed painting the coconut with teacher for the kids,who was very patient and encouraging.

We struggled with the locking system a bit,

It's such a beautiful place to be, I've never been anywhere like it. All of the positive messages everywhere, all of the artwork. The grounds are stunning. I'll return to koh samui just for this resort it's that spectacular. I'd highly recommend getting breakfast included. This has the best breakfast I've had by a long way. Also the staff are absolutely brilliant, such lovely people .

I haven't got a bad word to say about it. You can't find a bad word to say.

A good price for a choice for family as they have mini houses with enough space. Kinda quiet!

- Facilities are in poor condition. Speciallt is swimmimg pool, in photos it looks great for kids bit the slide is crackes and rotten. When you slide down, your skin will be scratched. The restaurant has not many ppl working so service is slow and they are not good with English - My studio designed a bit weird with toilet and bath room is between 2 rooms, if you want ro go to another room need to walk through toilet. The bath tub has no curtain so water will be everywhere. Toilet water is not strong for flushing. - A lot of mosquitos in the room. No matter that they have bed cover or anything other ways that we tried. - Airconditions are so slow to be cool up - wifi is very weak - i really not recommend
