The rooftop pool area is not big enough to cater for the number of guests. The breakfast quality and variety is below par given the presentation of the hotel and the regular rates charged.

3rd time staying. The location is great. Lots to do around the area. Restaurant across the street on the corner was my fav. The housekeeper was super friendly. The front desk staff was nice. The tall lady with the nice smile was super friendly.

They dont offer late checkout. My hotel in Bangkok offered us a few hours longer before our flight, and we only asked for 2 hours, plus they were busy. We will definitely stay there again. You would think after staying 3 times, they would check guest history and offer some sort of late checkout. That's only downside complaint. Would be nice if the gym was open 24 hours.

The Amethyst Hotel is amazing. From the moment you arrive, the porter helps you with your baggage and you enter the cool air conditioned hotel lobby. You are greeted with lots of Sawadee Ka’s and Bowing and a wonderful refreshing purple colour drink on arrival. The hotel room is huge with 2 double beds, beautiful sheets and the mattress is so comfortable. The bathroom is equipped with all the little extras from cotton buds to dental kits. The walk in shower is enormous and there is shampoo conditioner and shower gel provided and refreshed everyday. The room doesn’t have much hanging space for clothes but has lots of room for bags and luggage. There are a set of drawers by the bed and options for lighting including night lights that illuminate the floor. There are USB ports and plugs for all your devices too. The balcony is small but enough to stand on and take in the surroundings. No chairs or table. There is a kettle, teabags and coffee are refreshed every day. There is a fridge and for 2 people you are given 2 bottles of water pp per day. The TV provides entertainment in most languages Thai, German, Chinese and English. Films and news channels are the norm. But what makes the hotel is the staff. From the minutes you see any hotel employees, you are greeted with a big smile and Hello’s! The reception staff are fluent in English as are the restaurant and rooftop bar staff. The restaurant is bright and airy and the food choice at breakfast is huge and varied. There are cereals, fruit, salad, toast, croissants on offer. You can have small pastries. There is a hot drink machine for tea coffee cappuccino etc. water and juices are available. The juice is not fresh orange more a juice drink, but still nice. There is a self serve buffet of Asian food: rice, noodles, meat of some kind, seafood, soup, spring rolls etc. you can also order a variety of eggs at the egg station where your choice is made to order.

Location of the hotel was exceptional for all things going on in the area. Lots of taxi and Bhat bus running both directions to and from Walking Street.

The hotel is new but could have been doing with a bigger balcony to sit on after a day at the beach just to unwind and watch the sunset. Also the in-room safety deposit box could have at least been nailed or screwed to the wall, although the room was safe in it's self these were just my opinions. One other gripe was that the whole road was being dug up to replace new water pipes and the road was blocked off for the duration of our stay. Although im sure this will be finished some time soon........ I hope.

Excellent location. The rooftop pool was a highlight. Everything is clean and in good condition - walking in the door feels like entering an oasis of calm after the heat and chaos of the streets of Pattaya. Staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good for Thai standards and a good value.

A few minor points: - They need to play a greater variety of music on the rooftop. It was the same 20 - 30 songs on repeat for my entire stay while using the pool and gym. By the second day it started to drive me a little crazy. - The gym was pretty good for a smallish hotel, but it was lacking towels and a clock, which are pretty standard in hotel gyms, and would have made the gym experience much better.

The location was amazing and the facilities around the hotel too The staff were fabulous and as good as staff you will find anywhere in the world The cleaners were great too

In the room and especially the sink area in the bathroom, there were always ants running about and also on some occasions on the desktop under the tv The pillows were either too high or too low and putting them together didnt work as they became too high, so i had to use a large towel folded up under a pillow to get the correct height The beds were ok but a little bit lumpy

the staff is very friendly and helpfull , special thanks to Alice at the top floor pool bar and 5th floor cleaning staff. location is perfect and top side pool is great

few negatives also : -Soundproofing at rooms is not very good , you can hear just normal conversations from other rooms. And if you are unlucky with next door neighbors , you can hear them fighting too from morning till night :) -Maeby worst dissapointment was restaurant , tryed many dishes but all of them were dissapointing. Salmon was allways overcooked to dry and even thai food lacked flavour and spice -for me water at the pool was so freezing so no chance to swim. Did not see many others swim either so I guess i'm not the only one feeling like this

The location is lovely. The hotel is new and fantastic. Even though the rooms are a little smaller, the cleanliness and location make it more than worth it. The hotel is one I'd recommend. It is in the middle of the action but exceptionally quiet.

They refused to give extra creamer and coffee. Even worse, they said not more than two bottles per day. This doesn't happen at many hotels. At night, when I called for extra coffee, even willing to pay, I was told no housekeeping staff was available. While all this inconvenience is regrettable, I will still stay in the hotel if I ever revisit the city. Also, restaurant and coffee shop close pretty early.

In fact this 4 Star hotel is much better than many 5 star hotels in Pattaya. With my experience I could grant Amethyst as a 5 Star. Next time I will have no doubt to stay again. Restaurant open all day with good options for lunch and dinner. Facilities and amenities. Security for customers put in place.

The noise from the neighbourhood. But this is not a fault of the hotel as everyone staying in the area should expect it. Breakfast is only Thai oriented. The Westerners who are used to continental breakfast maybe disappointed.
