The property, rooms and beach were all immaculate. Beach was private and shared only with the Amanpuri hotel ($$$$), staff kept the beach clean and well tended. There are not tons of beach chairs but as a group of 7 we were able to get beach chairs daily. Staff is very kind and attentive, assists with activity bookings, and will escort you by golf cart to the Main Street. The grounds and walkways to the cottages were all pristine. There are a lot of stairs to and from in all directions, but manageable, just move at your own pace.

I felt that the alcoholic beverages were pricey ($10-15 USD for cocktails, $60+ bottles of wine). They do have daily happy hour at the pool from 5-6. Food was more reasonably priced at the pool bar and room service. The Beach restaurant was also quite pricey, but beautiful set up and feels more elevated than a “hotel restaurant” so we felt this was justified for a nice birthday dinner.

Great location: The resort is located in a very tranquil location and has a private beach. We have enjoyed both golden and rainy day sunsets. Staff: The staff is accommodating & responsive - booking tours via the concierge and dinner at the beach restaurant were delightful.

Esp breakfast: the local foods provided were OK, yet many of the non-local ones were frozen foods and cooked in a rather amateur way. My suggestion is to read at least the manual of the frozen foods you purchased or consult your peers to ensure you're procuring the right food and cooking them in an acceptable way.

the room was fantastic - though we did notice the first room we got had this smell of damp but the second upgraded room does not have it - so if you are lucky you get a perfect room. the upgraded delux room was just the perfect holiday stay for us, super clean and comfortable, facing the sea from the room and from the balcony.

location and food... location we find it is far from most resorts but it is a good trade off for this price breakfast I have to say is really poor--- definitely not the star hotel level - more like a air bnb level. we had breakfast included but after one try we just skipped and found something outside the hotel.

The staff were exceptional, even for Thailand. The beach is beautiful and the reservation system for seats/umbrellas took the stress out of finding a seat in the morning.

Lots and lots of steps but we knew this in advance.

The long ‘private’ beach is what makes this hotel. It is well laid out so that the loungers are set back from the beach and you’re assigned your own location for your entire stay. The rooms are also very well appointed and super comfortable. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, none more so than Book, Nut and Pooh who were exceptional in their service! The dining options were excellent too as including a very nice breakfast buffet.

The a la carte options at breakfast were a bit slow to come out. One morning we waited 15 minutes for our poached egg on avocado toast when they only brought one for my wife instead of the two we ordered. When we reminded them of this our second one apparently had to go to the back of the order queue so it was another 20 minutes when mine finally arrived. I would have just cancelled it and gone to the egg station for an omelette if I’d known but they kept reassuring me it was coming straightaway! A bit frustrating but otherwise breakfast service was also very good. The only other negative is the dark tiles in the pool. It doesn’t make the pool as inviting as lighter coloured tiles would be although nobody really used the pool much so it didn’t really matter.

The best hotel we've ever stayed in, without a doubt! The best aspect about Surin is undoubtedly the staff. We stayed for seven days, and the service was consistently outstanding. The cottages are lovely and the location is ideal! It's the perfect place to relax and refuel. The breakfast was excellent, and we also enjoyed the happy hour at the beach bar during sunset. A visit to the spa is also highly recommended. We'll be back, for sure!

Honestly, I cannot think of any disadvantages of Surin. If I have to name one, it would be the stairs leading to our cottage. We didn't mind, but if you don't like climbing stairs, you should book a room below the lobby level.

Beautiful beach (be aware of sea lices). Great breakfast, a la carte meniu available as well.

In general is a very nice hotel. Just not worth the price.

Overall is ok

During check in it was asked 2000 THB per day of deposit which is around 900 us$ if you stay 2 weeks !!! When trying to pay this deposit with 3 différents credit cards the staff said that our card was with insufficient balance which was absolutely not true . Their machine was just not working . This is very embarrassing to hear that from the staff of a 5 stars hotel.

beautiful setting, great pool and beach. excellent staff all very friendly.

The menu is a little limited although the food is very good. Privacy between rooms is not good .

The Surin made our stay unforgettable. The staff is lovely, the rooms are wonderful and clean, the bed was cozy and the view just breathtaking. We even extended our stay. The cottages allow enough privacy and they have everything you need in it (unlimited water, tea selection, daily freshly baked cookies in the evening (which I miss the most), beach bags, even aloe Vera cream if you enjoyed the sun too much).The beach bar offers a daily Happy Hour (try the pineapple daiquiri) with a wonderful view. The breakfast selection is really good and the staff is lovely. Thanks to the Surin we had a wonderful time and we will defiantly come back!
