The thing I most liked is the staff and the location. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. The property is centred next ( walkable distance) to most popular attractions like the blue mosque, hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace. There is nothing that I disliked, the only thing I could say as a drawback is the breakfast menu is complete English breakfast. I am a UK resident, obviously I am eating English breakfast every day and when I came here it was the same. I wanted to try something Turkish ( maybe this feels only for me) otherwise I highly recommend it to everyone who is going to come to Istanbul.

My boyfriend and I had an awesome stay at Avicena Hotel! The location is perfect—literally a stone’s throw from all the major sites in Istanbul. For the price, it’s hands down one of the best budget hotels we’ve stayed in. Our room was cozy, clean, functional, and comfortable—basically everything we needed to crash after a full day of walking and eating (mostly eating). The breakfast was great, and the staff? Wow. Nejdet and Ibrahim at the front desk were so friendly and helpful, they really made our short stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even gave great recommendations for things to do around the city. We’ll definitely be staying here again next time we’re in Istanbul. No question about it. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a cozy, affordable spot with amazing service :)

Wow, what an incredible stay at Avicenna. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff (Kazim, Cengiz, Muhammed, Ismail, and Elif) went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a peaceful sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. Avicenna's location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and shopping. We were able to explore the city with ease and return to the comfort of the hotel in no time. The concierge was extremely helpful in providing recommendations and arranging transportation, making our experience truly seamless. The attention to detail throughout the entire hotel was truly exceptional. Every interaction with the staff, every moment spent in the common areas, and every aspect of our room exuded a sense of care and dedication to guest satisfaction. Traditional style building with character and charm. Ideally located within yards of Ag Sophia and Blue Mosque making it very convenient to visit main sites.. Clean and comfortable beds. Breakfast served in lovely basement restaurant with courtyard garden seating area Staff helpful friendly and polite. Good value for money, worthwhile upgrading to superior room if staying more than a night.

Wouldn't reccomend if you have mobility issues as steep marble spiral steps to second and third floors so if this is an issue be sure to book ground floor courtyard area room.

The hotel could not be any more central in term of location. We were within walking distance from all the main attractions. The rooms were spacious with comfortable bed and furniture. The following staff were really amazing, they made our stay really enjoyable and warm. We would like to thank Kazim, Cengiz, Sadik, Ece and Hamza. They were so friendly, helpful and really made us felt welcome. We would definitely go back to see them. Thank you for being such wonderful people.

Whilst there are a good selection of foods for breakfast, The warm dishes takes getting use to. However this being said the staff at breakfast was really lovely. They were always available and on hand to help. Thank you Ece for being so lovely and helpful

Apart from the excellent view ( though originally we were given the wrong room), the room was relatively quiet ( apart from one night when they have singing in the rooftop restaurant). The location is also very convenient. The breakfast was good, but fresh juices would have been appreciated.

Unfortunately there is a stong smell of drainage in the room This needs to be seen to. Also it was very difficult to regulate the temperature of the water in the shower.

We stayed for a week in this very nice hotel near the Sultan Ahmet and Aya Sophia mosque. The location is so perfect. The tramway, metro and bus stations are very near. The hotel was clean and the staff was always kind and very happy to help, give recommendations etc😊 we will definetly come back to this place! Thanks for making our first stay in Istanbul very nice!!

A charming boutique hotel in the heart of the city, close to all the attractions in Sultanahmet. But the highlight were the staff who deserve special mention and our heartfelt thanks. The day the booking was confirmed, Cengiz from the front desk department connected with us in India on whatsapp to enquire if we had any requirements etc, which we found extremely professional. Kazim kept us very well entertained and was very helpful. Would also like to thank Elif and Muhammed for making our stay very pleasant. The views from the rooftop restaurant were stunning. Breakfast was very good. Would highly recommend this property.

The hotel is excellently located and perfect for all the historical places in the city.

The staff are extremely helpful and during our 6 days stay at the hotel, it felt like home. We knew staff by name. Elif stands out as a star. She helped us around for all our bookings and advised us on places to dine, places to see and also was conscious to advise us of the most economical way to get around. Orhan, at the reception was helpful and ensured that we had a good stay. Sadek and Hamza, assisted us immensely with our daily routine work. The weather was pretty hot, so the location helped. We had the Metro close by so we made it to other areas of Istanbul very easily.

Great location, surrounded by bars and restaurants, a short walk to the tourist attractions (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace) or to the Bosphorus where you can enjoy a stroll along the shore away from most of the intense traffic. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, especially Cengiz and Dilik who went above the expected level of service. Also, specials praise to Jan in the restaurant, a real credit to the hotel due to his charm and professionalism.

The hotel is old and in need of renovation. The room was clean but shabby with paint flaking off the walls and electrical sockets hanging off their fastenings. The restaurant is inexpensive with a wonderful view of the sea, however, most guests smoked and the cigarette fumes were very off putting.
