They have very nice and cosy rooms and lovely breakfast. The staff will always help you even its 3 am at night. They are very hospitable people. Hotel is also at the best location. Tram station is just 2 to 3 mints walk away. All the restaurants and shops are also close by.

Taxi cannot go at the hotel door because there are tram lines. It’s just 2 mints walk from the door and staff comes and picks all the luggage from the road and bring it to your room so no worries at all.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Black Pearl, we felt truly welcomed. It wasn’t just the warm hospitality or the spotless, cozy room—or its perfect location in Fatih that made exploring Istanbul a breeze—but the unforgettable gestures that elevated our stay. On my niece’s second birthday, the staff surprised us with a beautifully decorated cake and played the “Happy Birthday” song. Watching her eyes light up—and seeing the smiles of everyone around—made us all feel so happy and truly cherished. The team also went out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs. As I’m lactose intolerant, my father asked if they could prepare something dairy-free for me, and they kindly made me a fresh omelette. That thoughtful gesture made me feel cared for and shows the level of attention they give every guest. Every morning, breakfast was fresh, delicious, and varied. The staff’s kindness and attention to detail made our first family holiday together so special. Charming place, great location close to the most popular attractions and landmarks of Istanbul, and all are reachable on foot. Just by staying at this hotel, you are already saving on transport. The tram line is also on the same street, and if you want to go further, just buy the Istanbul Card near the Gülhane tram stop. Plenty of shops and restaurants around with delicious food to match any taste. The staff cleaned the room and provided new towels daily. We also booked a transfer to and from the airport through the hotel, and the service was excellent. The reception staff were very helpful, but Aslan stood out as very attentive, kind, and answered all our questions well. Moreover, the delicious breakfast was another significant benefit of saving money. I highly recommend this hotel, and we will return one day.

We highly recommand the hotel which is well located. We had a very nice time in Istanbul for our first time here to visit this beautiful city with family. We already plan to come back and for sure we will return to the black tulip hotel. We would like to thank all the staff and especially Efe and Aslan. They are very helpful and kind. It is very appréciable. They are full of nice attention, and always ready to help. Our flight back was very early on the morning and they offer us sandwiches. It was a really lovely attention. The hôtel is very clean, well maintained and the room is very spacious.

Superb location, Gulhane Park right around the corner, and many other popular tourist attractions. Laundry is behind the corner, money exchange is in the same building. Tons of cafes nearby with delicious food. Also we would like to recognise Aslan, who works at the reception for his politeness, willingness to help and kindness. He gave us a lot of good recommendations where to go and what to see. So, if you want to go to Istanbul and looking for a good hotel, look no further and stay in Black Tulip. Excellent Stay in the Heart of Istanbul! We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to major attractions like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern, with many other historical sites nearby. The tram station is conveniently right in front of the hotel, and the metro is just 250 meters away, making it very easy to explore the city. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Special thanks to Mr. Furkan, Arslan, and Numan, who went out of their way to assist us with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality truly made a difference. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Istanbul!

The staircase to the first floor is quite steep, which might be a concern for those with mobility issues.

We couldn't have chosen a better hotel for our family vacation in Istanbul. The room was perfect for our family of five: spacious, clean, bright, with comfortable beds and a fridge. The service was excellent. Special thanks to Aslan and Ertan at the front desk, they were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us with tour bookings, airport transfers and explaining how to use public transport. The hotel is small, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly. Even though the tram runs in front of the building, we were never disturbed. There's a tram station right on the corner and the Blue Mosque is just a 10-minute walk away. Plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops nearby. The location is perfect!

This is my second time in Istanbul and my 3rd hotel in Sultanahmet. It is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in in this area. The room and bathroom are nice and clean. The rooms and reception are are exactly like in the picture, and the staff are probably one of the main highlights of this hotel. They’re so kind, friendly and extremely helpful and thoughtful especially Ilham and Anwar. The breakfast is by far the best out of the 3 hotels we stayed at. They had a range of cheeses, olives, salami and other Turkish breakfast items. Tea and coffee was available and they had cakes and sweets everyday, fruits, jams, cornflakes and a new honeycomb everyday. And everyday they had 4 different hot items which mainly included boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried onions rings or potato/hash browns, and some other sausy hot dish with sausages or something else. They tried to change up the hot food and cheeses and Turkish items every 1-2 days to keep the breakfast varied. They also didn’t mind making omelettes on request if really needed but honestly the breakfast is good enough without personal requests. It was something me and my husband looked forward to every morning as there was just so much choice. Location of the hotel is also great. It’s just a 2 minute walk to the tram station. Aya Sophia, The grand bazaar, spice bazaar and blue mosque are all within walking distance. So is the pier where you can get a Bosphorus ride or grab a ferry to the Asian side or Princess Island. Bare in mind it’s one hotel but with 2 different wings, so on Booking you will find it as Hotel Black Pearl and Hotel Black Tulip. We stayed in Hotel Black Pearl which had the pink interior. I assume Black Tulip is the brownish interior. The only other difference is that Black Pearl has steps up to the elevator that takes you to the rooms whereas Black Tulip has an elevator directly from reception and is therefore step free.

So welcoming staff, nice big room, with perfect location to the main sights. We extended our stay to 8 nights and we lovede it!
