What a fabulous find! A friendly boutique hotel right in the middle of Sultanahmet with so many major attractions within walking distance. If you want to explore more of the city, the tram is 100m up the road and the subway and ferry terminals a short walk away. It could not have been better located. Our room was at the top of the hotel, with a lovely balcony overlooking the park and a view of the river. It was very quiet, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were fantastic - always friendly, welcoming and very eager to help. The hotel offered a selection of free walking tours. We did the local food tour with Okay, the hotel manager. He was excellent, incredibly informative and introduced us to some amazing places with varied and tasty food. Breakfast in the hotel was buffet style - huge choice of home cooked foods which varied from day to day and excellent service. They also offered free afternoon tea with bagels. We were out most of the time so only took advantage of this once but it was delicious. The hotel also had a hamman, a sauna and a pool in the basement - we used them a couple of times after some long walks and had them to ourselves - perfect.

On first sight the room looked a bit ordinary, but we soon settled in. The location was great for many famous mosques and other landmarks, ( Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia are a ten minute walk , Topkapi Palace is even less) and also some good restaurants and shops are nearby. There is a tram station one minute away which is extremely useful for us travellers. The staff were exceptional. At the front desk, Okay and Enver were extremely helpful with our requests and helped us with planning our day more than once. Sircan was also very useful as was Fatime in the breakfast room. This is not a big hotel with a big brand name, that means you get a personal approach from all the staff who are polite, patient and helpful. We also used the Spa facilities in the basement which we thoroughly enjoyed. And no one asks you to put in a good review online, they don't need to, probably because they are getting most things right to start off with.

The breakfast would have been a bit better if there was a bit more choice in hot food. Nevertheless, it was acceptable as we had a good choice in salads, pastries, juices etc.

The location was amazing, and the staff was the most welcoming and nice we have ever experienced (and we travel a lot!). We arrived in the middle of the night with 2 kids (1 kids and a baby) and they made us access our room way earlier (right when we got there!) than planned so we could rest and enjoy the first day trip! The staff gave us amazing and valuable recommandation for food places, places to visit, things to see, where to buy gifts and products… We were finishing our days with a moment at the pool with the kids (with Turkish bath and sauna), that made our days even more fantastic. They helped us out a lot and we highly recommend this place! The only weak spot was the high temperature in the room, so we had to open the window all day long.

Great location, able to walk to major attractions and very close to a tram stop. Staff at the hotel are very kind and wanting to do extra things to make the stay enjoyable. A special thanks to Okey. Property offers a free Turkish cooking class twice per week, which my daughter and I enjoyed. They also have additional cultural programs a few times per week (included in room charges). Pool in the spa area is warm and clean. Depth is 150cm, so might think to bring floaties for small children. Breakfast buffet has nice local foods.

Rooms are small, especially connecting family rooms.

Great location, decent rooms, a very good breakfast and facilities including a small gym, pool and sauna. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The street is quiet with only the odd taxi which is a big plus in such a busy city. There are also no add on charges (such as for the safe and air con) that I have experienced elsewhere in Turkey.

Some have said the rooms may be slightly tired and the gym equipment could be improved. That is somewhat harsh given the location and price. My son and I really enjoyed our stay and have recommended the hotel to others intending to visit the city.

Great location, right in the middle of old town Istanbul. You step out of the hotel and literally everything is within walking distance: dining, shopping, all of the major tourist spots like the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia mosque, grand bazaar you name it!! The Gulhane Park is wonderful place to just get away from the hustle and bustle to go just take a walk and is within 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The staff are very good and attentive to your needs. Room rate includes breakfast which has a very nice selection of continental breakfast items. The room is spacious enough for two people to spread out two suitcases and the bathroom is modern and clean.

Not much really. You have to get very nit picky to not like something.

Fantastic location in the absolute centre, but still in a quiet street. Many main attractions nearby, the others easily accessible by the safe and efficient public transport (Tram T1 but also a Marmaray metro which covers a huge distance). The hotel is very nice, with a small swimming pool, sauna, turkish bath. The rooms were clean, cleaned every day, nothing to complain about. The staff was absolutely the best, really helped with everything, before the booking and also during our stay.

The insulation is not that great, so the room can get noisy from the neighbors and the outside world.

Gentlemen at reception extremely polite and helpful. Booked us into a wonderful Hammam - sorted out taxi to airport and helped my friend who landed late to airport and needed a taxi. Breakfast each morning was fabulous a huge choice of hot and cold dishes which varied. Cosy place to have a beer in the evening and complimentary afternoon tea on Sunday afternoon. Location also really convenient to the main sights A great choice

Everything great. Swimming pool wasn’t open as being refurbished but we were in the low season.

The hotel was in easy proximity to major attractions yet very quiet at night. The staff was so helpful in every way. I really appreciated being able to ask for more water bottles whenever we needed them. The breakfast was abundant and varied, set out in buffet style and the dining area was classy. Fatima was a lovely breakfast hostess and she and the team were very professional. The single beds in our smallish, yet well set up, room were very comfortable. The room is adequately set up to place your luggage. The hotel truly was a refuge to come home too after busy days in a buzzing and stimulating metropolis. The concierge services are excellent. I will be recommending Sirkeci Mansion to friends and if I ever have the opportunity to return to Istanbul I would not hesitate to return to this lovely hotel.

The bathroom is a bit of a squeeze but understandable in an older building. The shower had great pressure however and there was never a shortage of hot water.

Sirkeci Mansion is wonderfully placed in the heart of Istanbul, with lovely rooms and great staff. The manager , Okai , was very helpful and remembered me from my last visit! I feel it’s a very safe hotel if you are travelling alone or just a group of women. They were very accommodating and even let us stay a couple of hours longer as I was not feeling well. I think breakfast could be better esp as I am a vegetarian. Overall a lovely experience and I will be back!
