Absolutely everything! The hotel is charming and beautifully renovated whilst retaining its original 19th century charm. Our room was gorgeous and the bed very comfortable. We arrived during Eid and being on the street side on the first floor, it was very noisy for the first night in particular. But they provide ear plugs which I used. If you’re particularly noise sensitive I’d suggest noise cancelling ear buds. We loved the locale and immediate surrounds - fantastic vibe and good places to eat. Especially around the Galata Tower. The hotel is on the hill so if you’re not fit or not fond of walking you might find it a challenge. We loved it - walking down to the Galata Bridge and across to the Old City every day. The hotel restaurant is on the terrace on the 5th level with spectacular views over Galata Tower , the Bosphorus and the mosques - Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and many more. Stunning in the morning at breakfast. Spectacular at night when they are all lit up. Breakfast each day was a real treat. So many delicious options - fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juices, salads of all kinds, Turkish dishes and cheeses, omelettes cooked to order, and as much Turkish tea or coffee as you want. Heaven! We had dinner up there on our last night. Magic! The staff were absolutely delightful - warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They felt like family. We hated leaving. We’ll be back - soon!

Location (you won't get a better view of Galata Tower from anywhere else), Aesthetics and Interior Design (wall paint, use of marble etc), Value for Money. Staffs attention to details and friendly manner. Easily reachable with public transport from all the important sights and from airport (max 3€ per Person if you have Istanbul Card).

Double rooms are too small because there is no Almirah (wardrobe closet) to keep your stuff and hang your clothes if you're staying for more than 3 nights (like in our case). Each time we needed something from the suitcase we had to adjust furniture first so that we could open the suitcases. This is the only aspect in which the hotel facilities need improvement. Otherwise, in everything else the property was top-class

Fantastic location in bustling Beyoglu, very close to Galata Tower. The metro and ferries are also in easy reach so you're set up to visit many parts of the city. The hotel has charm, character and history and is beautifully presented. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was tasty and plentiful and all the staff were helpful and polite. We were in Istanbul to celebrate a big wedding anniversary and were surprised by a gorgeous cake and sweet message on the day - a really lovely touch. The rooftop terrace gives fantastic views, and we had a very tasty meal there - it's worth reserving as it gets pretty busy up there.

Very small wardrobe provided too little space for our clothing (we were staying a week). It didn't bother us, but be aware that the hotel is in a very busy area (and close to a mosque) so there's quite a bit of noise from passersby, music, and the call to prayer on the street-facing side of the hotel (we were in room 134 on the 3rd floor). They thoughtfully provided ear plugs and I definitely needed them to sleep!

The location of the hotel was great and at walking distance or short tram ride to all the major attractions. The area itself has all the major conveniences like supermarkets, money exchange and pharmacy nearby. The room was clean, spacious and well stocked. Bed was comfy and the style of the room gives old Istanbul vibes. The breakfast buffet was great and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Just one negative point, if you are a light sleeper then this centrally located hotel would be a bit noisy. For me it was perfect as after walking so much whole days, slept heavily 😁

I chose this hotel because I liked the Meroddi hotel chain's proposal to restore old buildings in the Galata area. The restoration is impeccable and every detail is beautiful. It's lovely to see an initiative that values the history of a place rather than simply destroying it, as unfortunately happens in many historic neighborhoods around the world. That said, the place is beautiful, in neoclassical style as it was in the 19th century, with the advantage of the comforts of our age (hot water, air conditioning, elevator and wifi). The terrace is lovely. The view of the city is impressive: almost at the same elevation as the Galata Tower with the advantage of seeing the Galata Tower itself. The restaurant is great with very kind staff who managed to get us a table even when it seemed impossible. The room is very comfortable. The breakfast is sensational. There was a choice of Turkish dishes, which was definitely a plus for us. There's something for everyone, so if you like continental breakfast, you can eat without fear. If you like to explore and discover new things, there's always something delicious to try. Very kind and attentive staff in the breakfast area and especially in the hotel. We would like to thank all the hotel staff who made our stay in the city absolutely unforgettable. I made a special request which was met beyond my expectations. In addition, we were given valuable tips on what to see and do in the city. The hotel's location is perfect. We did almost everything on foot and loved exploring the Beyoglu area and also crossing the Galata Bridge to Fatih. I've read reports that complain about noise but we didn't really hear anything extraordinary - apart from the call to prayer that woke us up every day at five in the morning of course, but that's something you hear absolutely everywhere else in the city - that's why there are so many minarets in Istanbul. In short: go and enjoy your stay.

I can't think of anything I didn't like. For my taste and style of travel, it was absolutely perfect.

I chose this hotel because I wanted to be conveniently located and wanted good roof views. I couldn’t have chosen better. Breakfast restaurant and dinner views are amazing. Location is great as close to galata, near galata bridge and the area is nice, arty alternative and full of nice little shops and restaurants. Also close to the main shopping street and on the other direction to the main sites.

My stay was brilliant if I have to choose something to improve perhaps the 2 step process to connect to the free Wi-Fi but honestly I was looked after really well. Would definitely recommend this hotel to solo female travellers

This hotel features an excellent location (right next to Galata Tower) in a traditional, classical building that has been carefully restored into the feeling as 100 years ago. I would like to point out Mehmet's very positive and friendly behaviour! The bed in the room is comfortable, while all the textile's touch and feel is gentle and high quality. The bathroom is enough big and very clean.

Maybe the variety of the breakfast could be improred as it was exactly the same for 4 nights. I fully accept that they don't provide products out of porc but other breakfast items could have been offered instead.

During my stay, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Samira, who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication. When an issue arose, she handled it promptly and efficiently, ensuring that my experience remained smooth and enjoyable. Her attentiveness and commitment to providing excellent service truly made a difference. Thanks to her swift resolution, I was able to continue my stay without any inconvenience. A big thank you to Samira and all the team that I've Encon toured during my stay for their outstanding service!

Nothing : all good

View from our room was fantastic, overlooking Galata tower and parts of the old city and the Bosphorus (view from rooftop restaurant was even more spectacular). The property is historic and fairly well restored. That’s charm. The location is very touristy but a one or two block walk generates more authenticity. Convenient 20-40 minute walk to most major tourist attractions for a fit person given the steep hills. Staff were generally very friendly and helpful.

Air conditioning did not work well even after two visits by maintenance. Breakfast, while beautifully presented, tried to cover too many cultures - would be better to narrow the offerings and focus more on Turkish as most guests seeking a historic accommodation will also seek local, authentic breakfast. Front desk will try to offer you a commercial Bosphorus tour. They fail to mention that the public ferry will run you the length of the Straight and back for $15 with a nice long lunch stop at the Black Sea end - check Rick Steves.

Incredible location, breakfast, rooftop view, historic building and outstanding staff. I left my cell phone in the taxi after arriving from the airport, they immediately watched the cameras outside the hotel, got the license plate number, made lots of calls and eventually got the police to contact the taxi and get my phone back. The staff were so helpful and amazing the entire trip. Thank you so much Mehmet and Ufuk for saving what could have been a very rough start to the holiday!

Old building so the walls are thin and you can hear creaks in the morning from the neighbours.
