This hotel is just great! The location is 10 out of 10 - on İstiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue) with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, and Galata tower is 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. We had a room with a balcony on a 3rd floor (Golden Horn) with cute table and two chairs to enjoy the delicious Turkish coffee. Right from the balcony we were able to see the old-fashioned Istanbul nostalgic tramways going back and forth. It was a total immersion into the atmosphere of vacation and relax. With all that the sound proofing was of a high quality, as it was quiet and calm with windows closed. The room itself was really nice and well-equipped, we had all that we needed. There is a kettle, toaster, two caps, two spoons; coffee, tea and water for free (2 bottles of vine for additional price, we did not take it as do not drink alcohol at all). One slight detail - there was no plates and cutlery, though we did not need them. Plus we bought a Turkish cezve and made coffee every morning. Bathroom was great as well, towels are really good. Cleaning lady (and all staff btw) was really nice, smiling and always eager to help. We had a welcoming coffee at our first morning, so nice and strong) Note that that there is no elevator to reach the reception, but it was not problem for us. There is an elevator on the reception floor though. We had no sea-view in our room, but there is a roof-top bar on 5 floor with an amazing view on Bosphorus, not-to-miss one! Overall, it was great, so highly recommended!

The hotel is located on Istiklal Street, which is one of the main thoroughfares of Istanbul. There is public transportation nearby, and a lot of places are either within walking distance or easy to reach through metro, tram or bus. My suite was very spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful, especially Ismail, who was always eager to help.

My main issue was the fact that you had to walk up one floor to get to the elevator. It was problematic when I arrived, as I had made no arrangements regarding getting help with my luggage. In the end, the staff helped me both upon check-in and check-out, so all was fine.

The location is quite literally perfect- we had no issue with noises coming from İstiklal (we were on the first floor). In fact, we had an amazing view of the Bosphorus. It literally takes about 20 mins to get to the Karaköy ferry terminals and there are plenty of great breakfast, dinner and dessert options in the neighbourhoods closeby. Plus the personnel is so helpful and kind.

My only remark would be about the bed. Its frame is pretty outdated, so it makes a lot of noise, even if you just turn around. It is also true that taxis cannot drop you off in front of the hotel (unless you are picked up or dropped off before 8:30ish in the morning) so you will need to pass by an alley that is steep. Keep this in mind when booking transfers!

Really beautiful hotel in the city centre (Taksim). Amazing view, large room, cooperative staff. The issue some comments mention about the stairs to the first floor - I am not sure if it was different before, but for me the employer carried my huge suitcase up when I arrived and down when I was leaving, so I had no problem with that Also as a solo female traveler I felt really safe here. I arrived late at night so I was worried a bit, I took an airport shuttle to Taksim and walked around 15 min to the hotel. The whole path was very well lit, many people outside and police patrols everywhere so one feels very safe. It was a little bit hard to spot the hotel as the entrance is pretty narrow but over some days I’ve made some markers for myself to find it better. It has a green mini roof, right next to it is a ‘carol’ clothing shop and on the opposite side is the scam captain candy shop. The room was cleaned every day and there was 2 bottles of water put for me, I was always looking forward to it. They did some reconstruction during the day so I believe new visitors will be enjoying renewed rooms. Nice smell in the room and in the common areas. Great value for money. I loved my stay here

Very quiet, clean, large apartment style rooms tucked away in an unassuming building right on Istiklal street. Relatively central to public transport options, but be prepared for plenty of walking up steep hills. Some decent cafes, restaurants and bars are hidden around the various side streets in the area to avoid the tourist traps.

Some areas could use a little freshening up. New paint to cover water damage on bathroom walls and ceiling etc. but otherwise a wonderful place to stay.

Everything about our stay was great The staff was welcoming check-in was smooth and the apartment was spotless Housekeeping was available daily and they did an impeccable job refreshing the room The location is unbeatable near Galata Tower a fantastic area full of restaurants shops and a lively atmosphere both day and night It felt safe and the metro was just a short walk away making it easy to get around The view from our apartment was beautiful overlooking the city and the main street The soundproofing was excellent so even with noise outside we slept perfectly The apartment was spacious and well-maintained in a historic building with staff ready to assist with luggage if needed

A few things to note The kitchen had no dishes cookware or utensils so it was only useful for the sink and fridge If you plan to cook check in advance The balcony was small with a low railing so not ideal if you want to sit outside The apartment had a kettle and toaster but no espresso or pod coffee machine only a filter coffee maker If an espresso coffee machine is important for you it’s worth asking the reception Overall it was a fantastic stay and I would definitely recommend it

The location is perfect to get to anywhere you need to go in Istanbul. It is on Istiklal street but there is no noise from the street. I have stayed in 3 different rooms here and each one is more beautiful than the next. The sea view rooms have the most gorgeous view of the Bosphorous and the other rooms have the best of view of Istiklal Street. It is completely private and you feel like you’re in your own apartment. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Emre, he went above and beyond to accommodate my request for a room change. also was able to answer any questions I had about the area and was just all around extremely helpful. The cleaning staff is so friendly and helpful also. This place is run very efficiently and I can’t say enough good things about it..

there’s not one thing I didn’t like about this property.

Great location in the main pedestrian shopping street of Istanbul. Good soundproof windows, very little noise from the street below. Huge room, good and large bed (180 cm wide), excellent shower, small kitchen. There is a kettle, a fridge and a toaster and one can ask the reception for plates and other things.

The property is potentially a 10 if it was not for some issues of careful maintenance. E.g. loose toilet seat, loose tap for the kitchen sink, duvet too small for the large bed. Although the previous guests left some drinks in the fridge which has not been cleaned before our arrival, the reception kindly offered us a free bottle of wine in compensation for this lack of cleaning. One has to walk up from the street level to the 1st floor reception on a narrow staircase (we knew that), but there is a smell of cats there - this seems to be a general issue in the city.

The location is perfect, and even though you are in the heart of the most famous street in Istabul, which is extremely busy, you hear nothing and can sleep peacefully.

It wasn't evident when I booked that there was no lift service until the first floor. This is fine for us as we are not old nor have any aliments, but if this was not the case, it could have been an issue. I also was disappointed that the kitchenette was not functionable; there were no plates or pots to allow independence to make breakfast or a small meal, so the functionality is limited. We did ask if these could be supplied and was told no.

My partner, dad, and I had an incredible stay at Ravouna 1906. The hotel is stunning, and its location is very convenient—right on İstiklal Caddesi, just a few minutes' walk from the Şişhane metro station. My dad particularly loved his spacious balcony with a view of the bustling street below. My partner and I only regret not spending more time in our room to fully enjoy our cozy balcony, which had a lovely view of the water. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and took excellent care of me when I got sick. We also really loved the cat who was often in the hotel's doorway. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
