We stayed at this hotel because of a concert we were attending at the Westergasfabriek. Being located close to the concert venue and in Amsterdam, we knew it would be expensive. We were pleasantly welcomed by staff and given a glass of prosecco. It was a nice touch. The room itself was what we expected and matched the photos on Booking. The bed was very comfy. The hotel itself offers a nice 24-hour shop with drinks and snacks. They also make great coffee for you. You can take it with you on a pleasant stroll through the park. Breakfast was varied enough to satisfy any traveler. The nearby Q-Park parking lot offers good daily deals if you travel by car.

The windows (4 in total) had most likely not been washed in months and were filthy, ruining the view outside. 1 of the 4 electric shades/curtains was not working. Not a major faux pas since it was an attic room, so difficult to look into from the outside, but still an oversight.

The hotel itself was excellent. All the staff were polite and helpful and the food was excellent. The location is perfect, set in a lovely park and relatively close to the centre.

We stayed over during and either side of Kings Day and unfortunately were not made aware of a music venue at the rear of the hotel. The music finished at 1:00am on the first night and 2:45am the second. This didn't ruin our visit to this beautiful city however, it did result in us not getting a decent night's sleep for the duration of our stay. We were aware we were visiting during Kings Day and potentially what that meant but finding a music venue right next to the hotel was unexpected and disappointing.

Location was in a quiet area about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Amsterdam. The room overlooked a nice park and we enjoyed a bit of bird spotting on a morning with binoculars that were provided in the room. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room, the only downside of that being that they didn't provide any milk pods for those that don't like drinking black tea / coffee.

The restaurant attached to the hotel was disappointing as the menu was very limited. On the one occasion that we ate in there, the staff got a simple drinks order wrong and looked as though they would rather be somewhere else instead of at work. They were openly yawning in front of customers and the service was very slow - there were only 12 customers in the restaurant including us two.

Beautiful building in an amazing setting. A buzzy atmosphere without being in the thick of the crowds right in the centre. The rooms were really well designed in preserving the natural layout of space and felt spacious. there was a great welcome drink and everything else you needed. They also plant a tree if you choose not to wash your towels for a day, which is a brilliant trade off. Felt safe and secure and most of the staff were friendly and upbeat

There was some loud repetitive music the first two nights, think the music from a club kind of bounces off all the buildings. Only woke me once though and if you’re having busy days out you’d probably be tired enough to sleep through it. Experience of a couple of staff we encountered was a bit negative and rude with us and other guests, with none of the queries/requests being anything demanding or delivered in a bad way. That was a bit of a shame.

The room was great, lovely and clean and the bed was huge. The shower worked very well and the standard of fittings in the room was high. The on site cafe was great and the staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with

The restaurant next door was in my opinion not very good. I went in to sample the breakfast menu. It took three members of staff to finally get my order correct, the menu choice also seemed very limited, in my opinion. The food arrived after 25 minutes (eggs benedict) and it was barely luke warm. The eggs tasted like they had been cooked in too much vinegar and overall it was not a particularly pleasant experience.

Very good location, very clean and confortable.

I asked for early check-in, they didn't guarantee it but told me I that I can leave the luggage and that was OK for me. When I reached the hotel I was informed that my rooms are ready and I can check-in and, surprise, the early check-in was 15 euro per room!!! We had no slippers even if in the rooms were no carpets on the floor (the slippers were sold at the reception store), no ironing and no cofee machine as in the property description. Maybe thes3 aren't big issues, but for me it was (the accomodation was not cheap at all and I expected to have all that I read on the description).

Nice, clean, quite trendy hotel which is a good choice if you're happy to be on the west side of the city. It's about 20 mins walk from the centre, which is fine to do if you're only there for a day or two, but might start to wear a bit thin if you're there for longer.

I didn't see LOADS of consciousness from them. The reception includes a shop selling products in single use, disposable packaging and the room seemed to have aircon that we couldn't turn off (although we might just have not looked hard enough). None of these things is any worse than most hotels, but my expectations were raised by the name of the place.

Bicycle hire was excellent, easy to use, reasonable price. Staff were very helpful, got me extra pillows when needed Room was excellent, balcony and a view of the park.

Loved the location of the hotel and the historical building. The park area is beautiful and a good escape from the busy city. We enjoyed the Sunday market and Fabriek des Luminaries (the hotel staff should recommend these!) which are in the area. Also easy parking at Q Park a short walk away. Easy walk to the city and close enough to bars and restaurants. The hotel is an eclectic mix of old and new which we like. Check in is easy and the staff are friendly. Rooms are comfortable yet could do with a bit more character.

The bike rentals are a bit expensive, but given how many are stolen, understandable. I wouldn't upgrade to the bigger room knowing how similar it is to the normal double room.
