Excellent breakfast., staff v Friendly & Courteous, bed comfortable...good wi fi & an excellent location

BUT....air con is poor....the room was incredibly hot & sleep VERY difficult...we ended up cutting our stay short by 3 nights becouse of this, the cost of parking at 29 Euros a night seems excesive to say the least

In the middle of the centre of Cologne. Everything is reachable by walking. At the border of the river Rhine. Excellent and rich breakfast. Parking places below the hotel. Will fore sure come back.

Excellent room but very poor view. Just facing a wall. I have asked for a view on the Dom of Cologne and indeed, with some leaning to the left, the top of the two bell towers could be seen. I presume due to the Christmas markets, there were a lot of guests during breakfast hours. On Christmas Eve a renounce to have breakfast as it was almost a struggle to obtain some food. I presume management cannot do much about it but maybe extending the hours for breakfast could help. Be informed that parking can only be paid at the reception with credit card. The machines on the different parking floors only accept cash money. A bit very old fashioned !

Very nice hotel with a clear view over the square with a Christmas market and also the Cathedral behind this. Perfect for local shops and cafes & restaurants, and transport links. Great choices for breakfast with cooked food, pastries, breads,fruits,juices, teas etc. also had welcoming, helpful staff. Reception staff welcoming and helpful. Bottled water in the bedroom for the first night. Coffee machine with pods but we didn't use this. A kettle was provided on request. Teabags bought from a local shop. Fridge in the room a decent size. Swimming pool small but nice for a relaxing end of day swim after walking the streets of Köln. The Cathedral is beautiful and impressive both inside and out, so try to find time to visit here. Sample the local kolsch. The Kolsch bar in the hotel does food but not a huge choice. However what we had was tasty. Lots of eateries close by but note some places only take cash. Lovely clean city. Lots of Christmas markets close to each other. Spoilt for choice with places to eat and drink. We had a lovely walk by the Rhine and walked across one bridge and back across another. Use the ' back door' of the hotel to get there. Enjoy!

Our room was cold and the air con/ heating didnt work. I got an extra duvet on the second time of asking. Small heater in the bathroom but not enough to heat the room with bathroom door left open. Not enough lifts at times for the amount of people there, especially at the weekend when it got busier.

A beautiful place to stay at in Cologne! This hotel is massive, so many beautiful restaurants to have meals in. My mum even got her hair done at the hairdressers inside the hotel.

During our stay we had 2 occasions when the fire alarms went off. My family and I evacuated, thankfully both were false alarms. Heaps of people remained inside the building though (around the foyer/reception area) some were still sitting at the restaurants having cups of tea and staff were doing nothing to have them evacuate to the assembly area outside. Regardless if it is a drill, a false alarm or an actual fire I think it is important that all staff are doing their job at making sure everyone is out of the building for the safety of everyone.

Room and some communal areas a little dated. Swimming pool and gym very small, but this wasn’t a big issue for us.

Parking was easy to find and conveniently attached to the hotel. Check-in was smooth, and the staff was very friendly. We were given two adjoining rooms, though accessing them as connected rooms required a key, which we didn’t bother with since it was just a one-night stay. The elevators and pool also required key access. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast buffet was large and very good. Location was ideal with a very short walk to the Cathedral, restaurants, souvenir shops, and the chocolate museum.

We were hoping for a room with a king bed for my husband and me, but were given two twin beds instead. It wasn’t ideal, but it worked fine for a one-night stay. Also, while the parking garage was attached and convenient, it is not free for guests at 29 euros per day.

Such a lovely hotel and accommodated our stay during our visit to watch England play in the Euros. Despite check in being 3pm, our room was ready at our 12pm arrival. The staff were extremely friendly from the reception to the restaurants within the hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the restaurants had great food. Hotel is in an ideal location, right in the city centre, with the cathedral and many bars and restaurants in very close proximity.

Parking costs $29 per 24hrs and is not free for residents at the hotel. Nonetheless, not an awful price for city centre parking.

Maritim hotel is very well situated, within easy reach of Cologne city centre, the railway station, restaurants and the river Rhine. Very comfortable, well equipped room/bathroom and excellent breakfast catering for all tastes.

The lifts in this hotel are extremely slow, made worse by the fact they appear to be programmed to automatically stop at every floor, regardless of whether or not the lift has been called to a particular floor. We opted to use the staircase on more than one occasion. Finding the staircase was a challenge though !

Location: 5/5: Perfect spot, right across from the Christmas markets and easy access to transportation. Room: 5/5: We had a regular room, spacious enough for two. It was clean and had a coffee machine and fridge. The bathroom was clean too, with all the basic toiletries. Service: 4/5: The staff were polite and super helpful, especially with directions to the Christmas market nearby. Food: 4/5: Breakfast had plenty of options and kept us full. Ambience: 4/5: The hotel has a grand feel. The lobby is huge with lots of comfy sofas to relax on. Behind the reception, there's a dining area with a few restaurants open late.

Honestly, not much to say. We were hoping for a city view but ended up with an inner room that overlooked the dining area. Next time, we'll definitely ask for a city view.
