I stayed in this hotel with my mum for a quick city break at the beginning of March 2025. On the outside, the hotel does not look unique or eye catching. It was not until we walked up the stairs into our rooms that we were blown away. The view overlooking the River Rhine was superb. The hotel room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The receptionist (Thomas) was friendly and professional, as well as the restaurant staff downstairs. Breakfast consisted of the classic scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, ham, etc. the 9 yards. The hotel is about a 7 minute walk from Cologne Cathedral and other landmarks. When I return to Cologne, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

If you are someone that prefers silence outside, this may not be the hotel for you. Another thing of note is that there are no elevators, just stairs! If you are someone with mobility issues, I would advise that you reconsider.

The location is fantastic - on the Rhine and very close to both the train station and main places to visit. Staff are lovely - friendly, helpful. I was able to leave my case there after checking out. Breakfast was good. I didn't eat a main meal in the restaurant but it smelt and looked very good when walking through. Room was clean and had everything I needed.

I'd booked a single room which was - fair enough - absolutely tiny. It was also several flights of stairs up so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Luckily I only had a small case so was fine. The restaurant was very dark so eating breakfast I wasn't actually able to read the paper I had with me!

The location is ideal: directly on the Rhein, near shops and restaurants, close to the train station, and near attractions like the Kölner Dom. I appreciated the bathtub and spacious bathroom and bedroom. Finally, the breakfast the next morning was a pleasant experience and a good value.

There is no elevator, which usually doesn’t bother me in the least as I take the stairs whenever possible, yet my travels this time involved more luggage than usual. Carrying things up and down the stairs would have required two or more trips. However, the staff were very friendly and helped me.

Great little hotel located along the banks of the Rhine. Very close to main tourist attractions and the city centre for shopping. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast was buffet style with a good range of foods. The single room was a perfect size for 1 person and was clean and warm. There's no lift (which personally didn't bother me) just in case you have a lot of luggage, though i did see members of staff helping with luggage upstairs. Overall a great experience and would definitely stay here again if in Cologne

The location is very good, very central, and the staff friendly and kind. The room is small but I was fine, the bed is comfortable. It can be noisy because of the bars or restaurants around, but the window had such an effective insulation system that I heard nothing and slept like a baby with the air conditioning. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet while listening to relaxing and good blues music as a background.

The bathroom was very small and smelled a little bit.

Great place to stay in Köln for New Year's! The hotel and restaurant have a unique charm, with great service and friendly staff. The bedroom is spacious, with a lounge, extra bedroom, and two bathrooms, plus fantastic river views. Breakfast has plenty of options. The location is perfect, close to bars and restaurants. Just note, there are stairs to the rooms.

Perfect locarion, nice breakfast buffet, friendly staff, the normal room is absolutely comfortable and stylish, view to river Rhein, fantastic! The small rooms are real...well, small. The price difference is peanuts, so book the bigger room if available. The restaurant is decorated with hundreds of paintings, candles and has a strong historic atmosphere. We loved it! Thanks for everything!

Perfectly placed for the train station and all the main sights, and right on the river. We were lucky and got a room at the front with a great view. Like the restaurant the room was also traditionally decorated with 'antique' light fittings and paintings.

Not a problem for us as we only had small bags and were on the first floor, but the steep stairs up to the rooms could be difficult if you're less mobile, on the higher floors or have lots of baggage.

The location is great within a walking distance from the main tourist attractions, lots of bars around. The hotel is very atmospheric. The breakfast in the restrant was fairly good, and I really enjoyed the look of the dining hall itself.

There is no lift, but I knew about it when I booked. Fortunately my room was on the first floor. It's quite noisy outside till 1 a.m. but was also expected since there are tons of bars around. All in all good it is a very nice place.

Loved everything. Majestic room. Downstairs: Blues music playing softly; framed art reminiscent of the old masters against the walls; cute German sayings; soft lighting; all creating a warm, welcoming ambience. Staff assisted with luggage up and down the stairs. Lovely views of the Rhine.

The double bed consists of two single beds, with a clear divide.
