Great location (on the river Rhine and a short walk to the cathedral) and good for money. I read some of the comments before I arrived and was unsure what to expect. It is a quiant hotel/restaurant with polite and helpful staff. The room I was given was clean, and the bed was really comfortable ( the room wasn't huge but good enough for me). The lamp by the bed did not work and there was a crack in the shower hose (i reported both to reception, and they were fixed the same day). Every day the staff offered to clean the room. Breakfast was included and was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel with my mum for a quick city break at the beginning of March 2025. On the outside, the hotel does not look unique or eye catching. It was not until we walked up the stairs into our rooms that we were blown away. The view overlooking the River Rhine was superb. The hotel room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The receptionist (Thomas) was friendly and professional, as well as the restaurant staff downstairs. Breakfast consisted of the classic scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, ham, etc. the 9 yards. The hotel is about a 7 minute walk from Cologne Cathedral and other landmarks. When I return to Cologne, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

If you are someone that prefers silence outside, this may not be the hotel for you. Another thing of note is that there are no elevators, just stairs! If you are someone with mobility issues, I would advise that you reconsider.

Location is amazing. The staff are fantastic and lovely. Air conditioning worked and was needed in this heat. Breakfast had perfect scrambled eggs the way I like, not moist or sloppy. Good sausages and bacon.

Shower cubicle was small but we did have a twin room, so maybe that was the reason for this. Not sure if double rooms have larger facilities than we had. Our room didn’t have great views but the windows opened which was lovely and there was no fridge in the room to store water for kettle or hydration. No pastries at breakfast and options were limited.

The location is fantastic - on the Rhine and very close to both the train station and main places to visit. Staff are lovely - friendly, helpful. I was able to leave my case there after checking out. Breakfast was good. I didn't eat a main meal in the restaurant but it smelt and looked very good when walking through. Room was clean and had everything I needed.

I'd booked a single room which was - fair enough - absolutely tiny. It was also several flights of stairs up so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Luckily I only had a small case so was fine. The restaurant was very dark so eating breakfast I wasn't actually able to read the paper I had with me!

What a great location! Over looking the Rhine River where people are out until 10 o’clock at night! The room was large and the breakfast is very good. It’s also close to old town where you can spend a lot of hours looking at shops and there are many restaurants to choose from. We will definitely be back!

There are a few flights of stairs to get to the rooms, but that is pretty common for Europe. Just not something we are used to in the United States.

The location is ideal: directly on the Rhein, near shops and restaurants, close to the train station, and near attractions like the Kölner Dom. I appreciated the bathtub and spacious bathroom and bedroom. Finally, the breakfast the next morning was a pleasant experience and a good value.

There is no elevator, which usually doesn’t bother me in the least as I take the stairs whenever possible, yet my travels this time involved more luggage than usual. Carrying things up and down the stairs would have required two or more trips. However, the staff were very friendly and helped me.

Air conditioning during the heatwave was amazing. My favourite thing was the location. Well worth the upgrade for a room with a view. Breakfast was great. Proper coffee! Staff were very very friendly. Room was a great size. Plenty of mirrors to get ready at so I didn’t annoy my partner by taking up the bathrooms. Made my birthday trip fantastic thank you!

Bath looked well used, but wasn’t dirty. Couldn’t probably just use a refresh.

Great little hotel located along the banks of the Rhine. Very close to main tourist attractions and the city centre for shopping. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast was buffet style with a good range of foods. The single room was a perfect size for 1 person and was clean and warm. There's no lift (which personally didn't bother me) just in case you have a lot of luggage, though i did see members of staff helping with luggage upstairs. Overall a great experience and would definitely stay here again if in Cologne

The location is very good, very central, and the staff friendly and kind. The room is small but I was fine, the bed is comfortable. It can be noisy because of the bars or restaurants around, but the window had such an effective insulation system that I heard nothing and slept like a baby with the air conditioning. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet while listening to relaxing and good blues music as a background.

The bathroom was very small and smelled a little bit.

Great place to stay in Köln for New Year's! The hotel and restaurant have a unique charm, with great service and friendly staff. The bedroom is spacious, with a lounge, extra bedroom, and two bathrooms, plus fantastic river views. Breakfast has plenty of options. The location is perfect, close to bars and restaurants. Just note, there are stairs to the rooms.
