The Hotel am Museum Koeln is almost immediately adjacent to the Cologne Cathedral, the Ludwig Museum and the train station. We took a taxi to the hotel upon arrival because we did not know where to go, but coming back, we realized we could reach the station by foot in only five minutes despite wheeling our suitcases at the same time. The Rhine River is just two blocks in another direction, with an almost endless choice of waterfront dining options. And in a third direction, the hotel is right at the beginning of an extensive shopping district that rivals anywhere we've ever seen for high-end retail, fashion, luxury goods, and electronics. It goes on for block after block. So, the location is perfect. The hotel itself is small but very personal. The proprietor prepared excellent breakfasts for us - so abundant we literally could not eat all the food. Well worth the per diem price if you want to start the day well fed. The room was comfortable with lots of space to spread out.

The junior suite on the top floor was excellent for a family with two children during the colder months. We were spending some time indoors in the hotel room, and we had plenty of space and comfort to do so. The beds were very comfortable, and the hotel's location cannot be beaten. I would also like to highlight the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff.

The only minor issue is that because the hotel is small, it is not staffed 24 hours per day. Communication proceeds via email and the booking.com app, which I did not know. The sent me the access code only on the day of departure, this could have been done a little bit earlier. Make sure you have access to email during your travel, just to be sure. Or have the booking.com app on your phone.

It was lovely having windows that open to let in some air. They open right up which was wonderful. The room wasn't huge but was comfortable. It was nicely decorated. From the window, you can see a portion of the Dom cathedral! The bed was comfortable. The shower worked well. There is a lift. You would not want to carry cases up the stairs.

The light on the stairs doesn't have a movement sensor and sometimes goes off when you are halfway up/down leaving you in darkness. The bed sheet was polyester or similar material and very hot, no top sheet. No tea/coffee facilities in the room.

The location was great for proximity to Cologne Central Statioin - less than ten minutes walk (with a heavy suitcase). The cathedral spires were easily visible from our room which was at the front of the hotel and it was unbelievably quiet. The double glazed windows (which could be opened) were super-efficient when closed. The shower was great, with plenty of hot water. The bed was softer than we would choose but it was comfortable. Our room was larger than expected, and very clean, although a little bit dated. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we could leave our luggage for several hours at the hotel after checking out. We cannot comment on breakfast there as we did not have it.

The pillows on our bed were really lumpy.

The Hotel is at a very central location, close to the station, city center and public transport. The room was fairly big, with more than enough room for three people, and the beds were very comfortable. Everything seemed very clean.

When we wanted to check in, no one was at the door and we did not know whether it was possible to leave our bags or anything. However, when we called the phone number on the door the host arrived very quickly and was very nice. If this happens to you, do not hesitate to call the host :)

Location and cost were really good, the main reason I booked. Bathroom clean with a good shower. Bed comfortable.

Irregular staff hours, unsure when there would be someone on the desk to assist. Room temperature was controlled by window open or window closed. You need it closed unless you want to be woken by the bells at 6am!

Great value, clean, spacious, nice view of the cathedral, and near everything we needed. Staff was kind and check in was easy (in German). Cool bed lights and nice little decorations around the room.

Only thing is the stairs can be a bit dark which was not a problem for us because we used my iPhone flashlight. Don't really have any complaints.

The location is excellent. Right on the old square. 5 mins from the river. It's less than ten mins walk from the train station with the cathedral in between!! A lovely little street. Excellent variety of rooms for all size groups. Ideal for our family of 4. Really happy.

You'll hear the church bells early in the morning...... but that's what the cities about! So no problem.

The location is excellent. It is very close to the central station and the cathedral. In fact, the room we got had an amazing window view with the cathedral. The room is quite spacious and our stay was comfortable

Luggage storage not available. The central station has a really good luggage storage service (paid though) so not a huge trouble.

The location was perfect. So close to the Cathedral, shopping, restaurants and squares! In the centre of everything. wiFi is non existent in rooms only works in lobby. Towels are old but clean and no place to hang towels if you are planning on using them again. Everything else was good.
