Fabulous location in the middle of all the tourist attractions and in the beautiful old town area. Great views over the Rhine (worth booking a river side room) and the massive railway bridge. Next to the Philharmonic hall. Lots of restaurants and cafe bars along the front of the hotel. Great chill out space in the tree lined riverside park. Safe and fun locality. It was a heatwave during our visit and the hotel provided bottles of water and a fan in our room. Great room service kept us comfortable all our stay.

Nothing not to like

The room was clean, adequately furnished, had kettle and coffee facilities, beds very comfy, great view of river from our room ( paid small supplement).bedding and towels of good quality. Very good selection from buffet breakfast and staff pleasant and helpful. Despite us speaking no German. We also had 2 evening meals at the hotel which were very pleasant. Hotel is central to train station and all the attractions. Easy walk along promenade to zoo and aquarium.( about 20mins) The information regarding access to the key for the room was easy to follow.

The television only offered 1 English speaking channel which was DM news so no real choice for viewing on a winters evening.

The location was GREAT. Close to the Hbf train station and just close to everything! Rooms and bathrooms are a bit small, but typical for Europe. Shower stall is quite small. We are smaller people so it wasn’t a problem. The bed was very comfortable, a nice soft but firm mattress. Staff was very nice and helpful. Some rooms have windows facing the Meuse River. We left before breakfast was open, so we can’t comment on that.

I couldn’t get the Nespresso machine to work, even after I watched a YouTube tutorial. Also the floor lamp didn’t work.

Easy to find from Train station. River view. Proximity to restaurants and activities. Easy check in even after hours. There is a breakfast which we did not take.

We did find that it was somewhat noisy. This can be attributed to the location along the promenade at night as well as to there being no noise absorbing material (carpets) throughout. The bathroom is quite small and if you were a larger person, this would be a challenge. There was good water pressure and plenty of hot water for showers. Toiletries were supplied. There is a small elevator which is sufficient..There is a kettle and coffee maker, but only glasses in the room. I had to request a couple of mugs. Those should be automatic for hot drinks. I was appreciative of the kettle and coffee.

A lovely room with a small balcony and a view directly over the riverside park and outdoor eateries. Facilities in the room were good, and the bed comfy. The location was easy walking distance from the Hauptbahnhof, the cathedral, many local restaurants and the Kolner Philharmonie.

The lack of reception staff was perplexing, since even during the advertised hours in the morning, there was usually no-one there. Friendly staff are usually the icing on the cake to make visitors feel welcomed. But we had no trouble getting into the building and when we needed extra room supplies, we were able to get them from the restaurant.

Hotel has a restaurant attached - we ate there one night and the food was good. The Position of the hotel in Cologne as brilliant, near to everything that you’d want to visit and in the attractive old town with river views. Room was comfortable and very clean- bathroom was small, but with an excellent shower and plenty of hot water. Stairwells could do with some TLC. Breakfast was plentiful and very good - scrambled eggs were excellent.

A small hotel on the waterfront and very close to the cathedral and the main station with a wonderful view of the river and the bridge. Everything clean, well equipped and comfortable. Due to a late arrival and early departure we completely missed the staff but it was not a problem, check-in was possible thanks to a code and check-out and payment was managed through a phone arrangement. We didn't try the breakfast, but greatly appreciated the kettle. The room was on the fourth floor, so the view was really great and luckily the noise from the football fanzone down on the seafront didn't get in too much. Germany was playing and you could see everyone was having a great time.

The bathroom was clean and well equipped, but still very small considering the size of the room itself.

Great location near the Christmas Markets and train station. The room was clean and large Europe. The free bottles water was nice and good selection of teas.

The shower is small. We were in the back side rooms, and it got a little noisy around 5-6am due to trash pickup and deliveries to the hotel across the street. Reception closed at 2pm, so there was no one to greet us upon arrival. This wasn’t communicated until the day before because online it says reception is open til midnight. We couldn’t get the TV to work.

Hotel is located near Rhine and train station. It is also close by all important places like Dom Cathedral, Mudwig Museum and bars&restaurants.

The pillows could have been a bit firmer. Also, since the hotel is very close to the train station, you can hear train noises late at night or very early in the morning. Of course, there is nothing the hotel can do about this.

The location is so convenient on the riverside very close to the old town, station and cathedral. The attached restaurant is good and the adjoining premises are mainly restaurants and bars so there is plenty of choice for a relaxing evening.

I guess the noise of trains on the nearby bridge over the river might be an issue for some people. The nearby restaurants have outdoor seating so there is a buzz in the evening that might be unwelcome to some people. It is not a late night area. We didn't have a problem with either of these potential issues.
