Comfortable, very accessible to the city and only 6 minutes from the train station. Staff lovely and helpful

I arrived at the hotel after check-in hours, and the hosts were really helpful and provided instructions on how to access my hotel room after the hotel reception was closed. The hotel is located right in the city center, excellent for visiting the city without having to use any means of transportation. The hotel room was pleasant, clean, aesthetically pleasing and has a good view of the city, including the Cologne Cathedral. The Bürgerhof hotel is a great choice for those who want to visit Cologne in just a couple of days.

Had to make a last-minute booking, but I'm really glad I chose this hotel for it. It's really central. It takes no more than 5 minutes to walk from the dome there, which is by the central station. So it's really easy to get to/from the airport with public transportation. The only negative thing I could say is that you really hear everything outside. And there are many tourists passing by, guides, and you can often hear the church bell ringing - even in the middle of the night. So if you're a light sleeper, I don't recommend staying here. There's also no elevator, so it is not recommended if you have a problem walking in stairs, or with heavy luggage. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

Without doubt, the most important thing about this property is the location. Close to the Cathedral, the City Center (shopping), two fabulous squares for eating and drinking (transform into Xmas Markets I think), the River Rhine a very short walk for access to river tours and more dining options, plus Hohenzollernbrucke bridge is mere minutes away. Museum Ludwig is over the road It is approx just a quick 5 minute walk to the main train station. You really don’t need other forms of transport staying here. Be prepared for the bells of The Old Town Hall to be your alarm each morning. We enjoyed this wake up call. Location is super close. We stayed in the 3 person top floor (Room 33) duplex room. More than enough room for the three of us. Felt safe and secure, and very little noise from other guests. Plenty of toilet rolls, shower wash, towels daily and fresh water.

No lift to upper floors. Not an issue for us, but could be for others. Reception appears to only be open 2-6pm each day. Could be hit and miss too. We didn’t need them during our stay, and I think there is a contact number. Hosts were not impressive on arrival unfortunately (something that appears an issue for a number of years). The top floor (duplex part) of our room was very tired. The lounge chairs (only 2, but room is for 3 people) were tired and old and uncomfortable. Must be better ways to use this incredible space as feels quite wasted. Keys for front door and room doors. Feels quite an old way to deal with access in 2024. And you have to carry around whilst out and about.

The location was perfect; it is within walking distance of the train station, the Cathedral and the main square where many of the bars, cafes and restaurants are located. It is located on a side street too, so it was nice and quiet at night.

There is no 24/7 open reception and the check-in window is only until 6 pm every day, meaning that to get into the hotel after this time, we had to enter using a side door with a code.

The best thing about this hotel is that it’s close to the train station and walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit while in cologne. The rooms are spacious and clean.

If I had to be picky! The room has 2 single beds and it made no sense to push them closer together because they would have still left a gap between us. The church bells can be heard however these 2 minor things will not stop us from staying here again if we had to return to cologne.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable, amazing location very very central. Very easy to get everywhere from there PERFECT!! Its a small hotel and I didn:t see any other guests while I was there. I loved listening to the church bells, but be prepared they are loud.

I believe Reception is only open between 2-6pm not 24 hrs was not a issue for me but just a heads up. Also a heads up you are in the very centre of a large city so there can be some noise. (across the road is a lively Irish bar).

A happy accident. I fly out of Knock Cologne is a convenient jump off point on the continent. Yesterday was one of those days, but my old standbys were either booked out or not offering value for money, so I rolled the dice with the Burgerhof. It was phenomenal value, neat, tidy, and recently renovated. Good bed, good shower, close to the Action and the Bahnhof! ***Bonus*** no shortage of outlets!

Incredible location, short walk from the train station and 70meters from the famous Peter’s Brewhouse (and a lot of other pubs!!). Huge room as well!

The shower wasn’t the best, and would have been good if there was a bit more air, but it wasn’t hot when we stayed there so this didn’t phase us. The bells from the churches and noisy people outside the hotel at all hours, but not much you can do about that when you are staying right in the heart near the bars!

Location was excellent, 5 mins from the cathedral, 2 mins from the old town. Was clean, shower was excellent and bed really comfortable, slept well with no outside noise despite being in a busy area.

Nothing really springs to mind. However just to warn people the reception is only open for a limited time and if you have mobility problems there is no lift. Other than that I would happily stay there again.
