rooms are extremely big, with a very good shower and heating too. most of the staff could also communicate either in english or italian. the restaurant is a big plus when you don't feel like going far for dinner after a day exploring the city and the vicinities. the hotel is very central.

some channels in english would have been appreciated, just to keep it running as a background when in the room

Room was basic but clean with some interesting beer adverts on the wall. I found the bed pretty comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful when I asked if it was possible to switch rooms. Breakfast was good, plentiful and fresh, waiting staff were friendly. Superb location, right next to the Dom, five minutes walk from the station and everything else you could need or want!

Noisy due to construction work right outside but I was made aware in advance and fortunately able to switch rooms. It's a shame there is no fridge or kettle in the room but there is a free hot drinks machine in the lobby.

Very convenient central location.

As there was no air conditioning and as it was a very hot night we had to leave our bedroom windows open. Our stay coincided with a Turkish success in the Euros so there were celebrating fans in the small square below our room until 3am. The building site opposite got noisy about 6.30am and the cathedral bells (which are a joy) started seriously at 7am. Fortunately my wife and I can sleep through pretty well anything so we were not adversely affected but the flip side of a central location needs to be borne in mind by anyone who needs a quiet night.

Incredible location next to cathedral, a short walk to train station and a christmas market right outside the door! All the markets were within walking distance.

A very ill person in bed clothes was inhabiting the lobby one evening...coughing all over, moaning, came over to us rambling. I approached desk clerk suggested she shouldn't be in lobby. They just shrugged. Maybe she was a guest but someone that ill needed to be in a hospital or a room...not the small lobby. It was an odd situation but would not keep me from staying again.

The room was much larger than I expected, equipped with with basic essentials, clean and comfortable. Freshly renovated, in a modern style (just shelves, no wardrobe), with good desk space for work. It exceeded my expectations! The staff were very nice and the breakfast very good. Complimentary water in the room and a free coffee/tea machine available next to the reception - excellent idea!

There was a strong smell of food on my floor (not in the room, fortunately); could not determine the source. Construction work outside the hotel but quiet at night.

Very central location 100m from the cathedral. Currently (Sept 2024} there is major building work on 2 sides of the hotel and work starts at 6.30. This did not bother us too much as there is major construction work all over the city center. Staff were very friendly and efficient

Access to wi-fi was poor. No English language TV channels. I thought having a 2m high advert for Fruh beer in the room was cheap and in poor taste. There were no tea or coffee making faculties in the room. There was a machine in the lobby but if you are on the 5th floor and you want a cup of coffee before you get dressed. . . . Otherwise we were satisfied and would recommend it.

We arrived at the main Cologne railway station, so the hotel is only 5 minutes walk away. The breakfast had a good buffet breakfast, all very fresh and with something to suit all tastes. The room was bright and airy with tilt and turn windows which could be left open at night for ventilation. There were electric shutters and curtains at the windows to block out the early morning light.

The room does not have facilities for making a hot drink, nor does it have a mini fridge to store cold drinks. These items would be more useful that the tablet which is in each room. Most people use their own devices to connect to the internet.

Everything was excellent!!! Exceptional cleanliness! Excellent breakfast!!! Very central, in the midst of Cologne, parking lot close, relatively cheap. Very friendly staff!!! Good coffee types for free in the lobby and water for free!!! Hardly had it like this anywhere else...

Actually nothing. But there could be a good espresso machine in the breakfast room, too; I had the impression that mine (double espresso) was fetched by the machine in the lobby downstairs :-) but maybe I am wrong :-)

Everything was excellent. Location was only few meters away from the Cathedral, so in the heart of the city. Breakfast had plenty of choices, also breakfast room was very nice. Very good sound isolation. We did not hear any voices from outside of the hotel or from the inside (other rooms). Room was confortable and had every detail needed in a hotel room. Also proper size with good heating which is adjustable. And very pleasant and helpfull staff in all areas -reception, breakfast room.

First of all, the location is great, right across the Dom cathedral. I did not use any public transportation during my 2-night stay because it is 5 minutes walk from the train station and close to the touristic places. My room was clean and nice. There was no kettle in the room, so when I asked the reception for hot water, they brought a kettle to my room. Also the breakfast was very good.

There could have been a kettle, tea and coffee in the room. Although the waiters served every customer and brought coffee during breakfast, they looked away from me at breakfast on both days and did not bring service. I wondered if I was discriminated against and felt a little sad.
