We just completed a trip with 5 families, occupying 7 rooms at the Prevot. We booked randomly without knowing the property and it was a highlight of the entire trip. We were made to feel comfortable every moment of our visit. There were times when our group would occupy a large portion of the patio, instead of trying to move us along they would bring chairs and tables to make us more comfortable. Some of my best memories of our entire trip to Europe were friends and family sitting on the Prevot patio, eating, drinking and laughing - often along with the staff. The staff at the hotel was beyond exceptional. Every single member of the team over-delivered. From the moment we checked in, the owner (who worked the front desk), was expecting us and had things read. The bar and restaurant staff work their butts off and are friendly beyond belief. Not one member of our party spoke German and that was never remotely a hindrance. We ate breakfast most of our 6 days at the hotel and it was great. The yogurt parfait was particularly popular. During the day we ate their escargot multiple times/day every day. - delicious. As for the German food, we found their currywurst to be the best we ate during our entire time in Germany.

I can't really think of any complaints. Maybe offering still water for the rooms vs just sparkling but this is beyond a trivial, American nit. The place is great - I feel bad even typing in this box.

Bedroom was great, very clean and fresh towels every day. It was very central, very close to train station. Lovely promanade along the river. Would stay there again.

Didn't like the Breakfast. Just had it there 1 morning.

Location was perfect for our three night stay! In heart of old town, riverside, cathedral just behind. Surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes. Loved the modern decor. Comfortable beds (including sofa bed that was plenty big enough for our 14 and 12 year old). Spacious bathroom with bath that both the kids enjoyed. Seperate shower and seperate toilet. Loved that they provided coffee machine and replaced capsules each day. Staff were super friendly. We drove to Cologne and there were plenty of paid car parking options nearby at a reasonable price.

The hotel was very close to the train station and the Dom, making exploring easy. The rooms were comfortable and overlooked the Rhine.

The rooms got very hot and it was difficult to adjust temperature. The hotel team were also pretty uninterested - both at check in and check out. We’d read that the breakfasts were outstanding - one of the reasons we booked. We had to place an a la carte order the night before, rather than a buffet, and what was provided was adequate.

Location - large room - great shower. Hotel was quiet (not busy & restaurant closed during our stay). Were not concerned about the restaurant - there are plenty in the area. We picked this hotel for its location near to Christmas markets and cathedral . Proximity to the train station was also a bonus - (on departure just walked to the station for a train to the airport).

We left our bags for a couple of hours before check in was actually available to us (we were early). So surprised when the final bill had a charge for this - especially when the facility was offered and no mention made of there being a charge.

The room was lovely, comfortable, and with a beautiful view toward the river Rhine. The staff were fantastic, polite, interactive with us, and helpful. The food was delicious, both breakfast and dinners. Location was brilliant. I strongly recommend this lovely hotel and restaurant.

The dinner service was not as busy as other hotels next door, and I feel that with staff training on how to confidently attract customers for dinner service, amid competition will hugely benefit the sustainability of thus lovely hotel and restaurant

Location was excellent. Two minutes from banks of Rhine and restaurants & bars. Quality of room was excellent. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Good air con but locked and limited to no lower than 19C. Great service. Friendly staff.

Water charged at excessive prices. A JUG OF TAP WATER CHARGED AT C. €7.50 !!!!! No one mentioned this when we ordered water for our room or breakfast. Rip-off pricing.

Very good location close to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space.

Upon arrival we were given a menu to order breakfast for the next morning however, we did not get the same menu given to us on the second day and hence when we came for breakfast we had to wait a long time - lesson learned for next time. On both evenings we returned to the hotel around 9:30pm and no staff were on site and the bar was closed.

Great location if you're in Cologne to explore the Christmas markets. It's quite close to the train station. Friendly staff, room is very spacious & bed is comfortable.

Wish there was a sliding curtain or some type of divider in front of the shower stall. Can get a little noisy in the early morning hours if you happen to have a room that faces the backside of the building across the way, as it seems early morning deliveries are made to their backside.

The hotel is super central, close to public transport and the river side as well as shopping. There are quite many pubs, restaurants and bars around, however, I would recommend to ask the hotel staff or people around of the same age group for advice. We found ourselves a little lost between relatively old tourists and locals in the pubs. Caution: If you are coming for the weekend, shops are closed on Sundays!! The breakfast is a la carte and the hotel asks to kindly mark your breakfast options on the menu and put it in front of your room door before 6:30AM. I personally found it really worth the money. Because we were three persons on the room, we made a little mistake while marking our breakfast on the menu, so it was not prepared, however, the kitchen was super fast in correcting the mistake. We really liked how quiet the hotel was and that we had everything in walking distance. The facilities were very clean and tidy.

We reserved a junior suite for 3 adults which meant that one had to sleep on the large sofa bed. It is a really big sofa bed, but the mattress was horrible. It was so soft and denned in the middle that in the second night the one sleeping on the sofa bed decided to completely sleep at the better supported end of the bed which was the headpiece and about 25% of the space. Additionally, it was impossible to turn off the A/C in the room. It was always on heating or cooling, except for when the windows were (both!) opened. The person sleeping on the sofa bed was also sleeping in the ventilation of this A/C. Because it is carnival season and there is a karaoke pub located opposite the hotel, we could not open the windows at night, because it was too noisy outside.
