We chose this hotel to visit the Christmas Markets and we couldn't have picked better. The main Heinzels Winter Fairytale market was right outside the hotel and the one at Cologne Cathedral was a few minutes walk away. All the other markets around Cologne were easy to visit due to great transport links. The public areas of the hotel were clean and comfortable and the restaurant for breakfast was spacious with enough choice to make it worthwhile to have breakfast included in the price. We were leaving really early on our last day so would miss the breakfast but the hotel was happy to make up a bag with rolls, fruit and a drink to take with us to the airport. The staff were lovely and really helpful when asking for information about the markets we wanted to visit. Our twin room was huge and I think it was for disabled visitors (which we weren't) and in a really quiet location on the 3rd floor. The beds were comfortable and I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending this hotel for people wishing to visit for the Christmas Markets.

We had just one tiny little niggle. The bathroom was enormous with what could possibly have been the biggest bath I have ever seen! There was also a huge shower which would be ideal for someone with mobility issues or in a wheelchair. There were also two sinks and this is where my niggle lies. There was only one soap dispenser attached to the wall next to the right-hand sink which meant that if someone was using the left sink at the same time, they had to walk around to get soap. Also, the dispenser was a squeezable bottle rather than a plunge which wasn't easy for my sister to use as she has arthritis in her hands. Individual hand soaps or a central plunge bottle would be so much easier. Apart from this, everything else was perfect.

Thank you to the receptionist for welcoming us with the biggest smile. Also thank you for the amazing room! It was super clean, very cosy, it had an amazing view and the beds were comfy. The rolling shutter (if that's the correct translation) was a nice extra. Overall it was very quiet in the room. Breakfast had everything you need and more, it was delicious and the charcuterie was served very pretty. Earlier this year I stayed at NH in Cologne, and I will never go there again. I will definitely come back here!

The only small thing for both me and my mother; the pillows were too "empty".

My partner and I stayed in the junior suite and I would definitely recommend for the view of the cathedral. The bed was very comfortable but let down by thin pillows and the room was clean. The hotel is in a great location for food and drinks throughout the day as well as the main attractions and staff were friendly and helpful.

Having read the other reviews it seems other rooms had a fridge and better coffee making facilities. Considering we were told by staff we had the best room in the hotel, you would think there would be milk included with our coffees! There is also only hand soap and no other toiletries provided, just little touches that would make the room better.

Very comfortable, very clean, gründlich and relaxed. Location is excellent.

The bedsheet was too small and slipped off the Mattressprotector making it necessary to readjust during the night. Remaking the bed so the Sheet didn’t slip meant the sheet was too Short. Only one pillow and very small bathtowels was a bit meagre but overall these were not a major issue. The Level of cleanliness and attention to Detail was much appreciated.

Very conveniently located with the main train station about 6 minutes walk. Room was compact but had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Very quiet and relaxing and we did not hear any noise either within the hotel or from outside. We did not eat here but plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy check in, lady in reception was very nice . Check out was good also . Great place for exploring Cologne.

There was nothing I did not like.

The location of the hotel is right on the Alter Markt in the old town of Cologne within walking distance of the Dom, many other historical buildings and museums and the main station. My room was a good size with a very comfortable bed, a desk, flat screen TV, safe, air conditioning and a well appointed ensuite with a large shower cabinet. The room was very clean, as were all public areas,and was serviced daily. Breakfast was included in my booking and was excellent with plenty of variety of cold and hot options. The staff were very friendly and helpful and luggage can be safely stored if needed.

My friend and I stayed here for Cologne Pride and it was located in the City Centre, we were close to a lot of sight seeing attractions. The staff were really welcoming and allowed us to leave our bags at reception before check-in and after check-out. The room was clean, comfortable and air conditioned, and was cleaned everyday. The bathroom was lovely and modern. Our room had a gorgeous view of the Cathedral too.

We didn’t go for the breakfast option as it was a bit expensive, but there is plenty of lovely cafes around to go for something to eat.

Clean, well-presented and well organised hotel. Good breakfast, some pleasant staff and an excellent location. Bed comfortable, bathroom clean and highly functional and room not large but sufficient. Not a hint of luxury anywhere but somehow I didn’t miss it because everything worked so well for us.

Air con didn’t seem to work. Reception couldn’t handle card payments for purchases put against the room (?!) and one member of reception staff (new?) did not speak English sufficiently confidently (although it was significantly better than my German!)

We had a great short break in Cologne staying at the hotel. Perfect location to walk to the Dom, shopping area and all other main attractions. We had a large room with comfortable bed and great shower and the hotel looked after our luggage when we arrived and before we left. We found the room cold one evening and two additional heaters were brought to us immediately. We wold stay there again and recommend the hotel.

The room was excellent and very spacious compared to other hotels we have tried in the area. The furniture was modern and it had all the facilities you needed. Location was great, just a short walk from the main station, cathedral, shopping district and restaurants. I would definitely recommend it and will be back next year...

We arrived in the morning and could not get a room until late afternoon, which was exhausting.
