The location is excellent & easy to access from the main road past Loch Lomond. A good base for either continuing on further into the Highlands or heading to the coast to the west. The view from the front of the hotel was very good (see the photo) & if you wanted a stroll (or hike) along Loch Long, then you just can't go wrong.

There were some minor issues that could do with addressing, mainly to do with the cleaning & state of repair of the room. I can't speak to other rooms or areas, but the shower room needed to be cleaned far more thoroughly. The taps on the hand basin had mismatching tops, which is indicative of short cuts. How much does a pair of taps cost? Not a lot, to be honest. And the chain to the plug was actually rusty; again, not a costly thing to fix.

The staff were so helpful and professional. I came here without much expectations as a solo traveller with just the desire to get some dinner, have a decent shower and a good nights sleep after a long day driving to Ben Nevis for the day. All my expectations for were exceeded for the price of this hotel. Functional room, clean & comfortable. I thought I’d take a look at the hotel menu instead of going straight out in search of an evening meal, the menu is decent and so I decided to give the hotel restaurant a try since it saved me driving to another restaurant or pub. Service was well and truly above and beyond expectations, I’ve been highly awarded restaurants that charge £50 for a dish and the table service by these guys is on par with that. Before I’d even ordered a drink or food they brought out a jug of water. Then, even better they brought out a basket of bread and butter which was very good quality I picked the Cajun chicken sizzler, a side of fries and a pint of lager, it was a good pint. The Chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the fries were cooked to perfection. Very simple dish but easy for lazy chefs to get it wrong and this chef clearly puts effort into his dishes.

Guests are a little noisy in the corridors but that’s not the hotels fault. With that in mind maybe they could try and soundproof the doors a little better though.

Perfect location, we wanted to break our journal home to Yorkshire having spent 8days in the Isle of Skye on a walking holiday. Our room had a fabulous view across the lock, wonderful scenery, the beds were comfy, good shower with the option of a bath, all the staff were happy, smiley and attentive, the restaurant staff ensured we were happy by checking all was ok and was there anything else they could get for us, which was appreciated thank you. We really enjoyed our evening meal of mussels for starters and fajitas for mains - delicious!

Not a problem but the breakfast buffet only had scrambled eggs, option of poached or fried would been nice, my partner was a little disappointed not to see porridge on the menu as he'd enjoyed lovely Scottish porridge every morning at the Hotels/B&Bs we'd stayed at on our tour round the Isle of Skye.

Location was fantastic, the lounge area was cosy and very relaxing for morning coffee, and evening drinks with ideal background music, the furniture matched the ambience and there was a good selection of different settings for coffee, working on a laptop, having a drink in a group or a bar meal. The evening meal was very good with both a menu of the the day and full dining menu. Carparking was also great as we had no difficulty parking during any of the 4 days despite the hotel being full.

The room would have benefitted from some sidelights or at least bedside lamps, and the TV channels would not work on the last 2 nights and just said no connection, although there was heavy rain on those evenings

I stayed at this hotel as it was conveniently located along my motorcycling route which made it a pretty practical stopover for the night. Despite reading some mixed reviews beforehand regarding the hotel's overall condition and service standards, but my experience was entirely good and I had no issues during my stay. I parked my motorcycle in the car park directly in front of the hotel and felt comfortable leaving it there overnight. All the staff I dealt with were pleasant and helpful. Instead of dining in the main restaurant, I opted to have my evening meal in the bar area. The food was very good, freshly prepared and piping hot. Breakfast the next morning was great value for money and more than 'set me up' for the day. In terms of style and atmosphere, I think t's fair to say the hotel has a dated feel - think late 1970s or early 1980s decor. That said, the retro feel didn’t detract from my stay. It may not be the ideal choice for a romantic getaway, given it has a sort of tired feel but for a practical, no-fuss stay, it absolutely delivers. One of the hotel's biggest advantages is its location right by the loch, so has great views. Overall, the accommodation ticked all the boxes for me: it was clean, well-managed, safe, and good value for money. I’d be more than happy to stay here again if I’m passing through the area.

My room was fine the onyl thing I would say is that there was a bit of road noise from passing traffic - which could be an ussue for some but wasnt enough to trouble me or prevent me sleeping after a tiring day on the bike

Location of Arrochar Hotel was amazing, overlooking Loch Long and the surrounding hillside. The room was ok, enough room for the two of us and the dog. The room included coffee and tea making facilities too. The evening meal was good and quickly served to us. Breakfast was very very good, buffet style so could go up as often as you wanted to. We had to sit in the bar area as the restaurant does not allow dogs in there, which was fine.

However, the hotel was very, very warm to the point it was uncomfortable at times. The shower in the room consistently dripped into the tray, but did not disturb us. As it was very very warm we had the window open which meant it was noisy during the night as it is a very busy road behind the hotel.

Loved, the situation and the staff, the atmosphere and the food and the relaxed feel. It's an unpretentious no frills hotel run by incredibly hard-working staff right on the shores of the loch. It welcomes dogs and it's a great base for walkers and for anyone visiting the area. However if you are expecting a hotel like holiday inn. This is not. I understand they are refurbishing some rooms I think I had an older one but it was clean and comfortable, It takes you back in time but that is part of the charm. The reviews are so varied but I would say this just shows if the right people come they will love it. The food was delicious and even the evening entertainment was good and a lot of fun not normally something I join in with. I will definitely be back with my dogs and my walking boots. They will do a packed lunch for walkers and there is a form to fill out if you go for a walk with contact details which I thought was really good.

You can hear noisy guests walking back to their rooms but that's not the fault of the hotel. Maybe a few signs to remind people that other people could be asleep. And I do like to see cruelty free shower gel and soap and I'm not sure this was the case but I could be wrong.

Stayed at Arrochar Hotel and had a unique experience! The hotel has a traditional Scottish charm, which really makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. It's located in a quiet village near Loch Ness, adding to the mystical atmosphere. The rooms were clean, but everything was quite old and could use some updates. The breakfast was a standard English breakfast, good enough to start the day. The journey to the hotel was also memorable—we spent the whole ride listening to Scottish fairy tales, which made the stay feel even more magical (and a little eerie!). Definitely a place with character and history. If you love authentic Scottish vibes, this hotel is worth a visit!
