Brilliant hotel…we come for short 3-4 night breaks when there is availability in summer….super staff in all departments and the room cleanliness is excellent….the free car parking is excellent as we won’t park and probably can’t park anywhere else for 4 days..if it didn’t offer free parking we couldn’t go

I think the daily room prices are getting a bit steep..I understand pay/ NI contributions have increased but the rooms are still pretty standard, well appointed but standard. We have to book through Booking.com as we can’t join a coach trip for the whole journey … ( they DO seem to be excellent value though, especially if your travelling from the north of UK) …we are only an hour a way and no pick up point…we were quoted £160 for 1 night for a twin basic no sea view room..no breakfast..!!!…. We did pick another date which was slightly less in the end as we enjoy staying there so much, so we we’re happy with our stay.

It's an attractive, historic building in a great location overlooking the sea, you just cross the road and you're on the beach. Very friendly staff with a personal touch that made it a totally different experience to the usual modern chain hotels. Great breakfast and evening meals - very traditional and old-fashioned, in a good way! There's a nice lounge and bar area where we joined other guests to watch the final of the Euros. Reasonable drinks prices. We paid a bit extra for a seaview, which we felt was worth it. Everything about the room was fine. Easy, free parking. A short stroll to the pier and town centre.

The sound of people taking and watching TV in the neighbouring rooms was quite loud. Lots of coach parties use the hotel which we didn't mind at all and gave it a good atmosphere, but their evening entertainment (bingo and a singer) was very loud in our room on the second floor. The entertainment was over by 10.30-11ish though so that was OK.

Very nice hotel and an excellent location on the sea front.The room was very big with a 3 piece suite and 4 large windows.The room was at the end of the corridor with its own porch so it was separated from the rest of the rooms with added privacy and you couldn’t hear the usual slamming door idiots early hours of the morning.

2 of the windows in the room were nailed shut so couldn’t get enough fresh air especially in the hot weather.

The exterior looks very posh. The inside felt like a country manor hotel. The bedroom we had was very spacious and clean with a double wardrobe and coathangers! The double bed was very comfortable. Loved the very high ceilings. The breakfast we had was excellent value for money and cooked perfectly. The location is amazing, right on the seafront, with a carpark attached.

Safe free car parking..the location by the beach and easy walking distance to the town/ shops/ sea front/ bars and restaurants should you need them. Friendly service in the hotel

We have stayed 5 times in the last 2 years which has been really good but the room sizes vary tremendously from a small to a roomy double. The small should come at a significant lower price. I appreciate it’s an older establishment with different room configurations but the room sizes should be priced accordingly

Superb location Excellent seaside view from our bedroom Comfortable bed Clean room Good breakfast - efficient and friendly waitress. (Table 3) Staff were good, efficient, polite and and helpful. The hotel seems to be aimed at older group tours, but we still enjoyed the bingo and live music and dancing and the company of the other guests.

We were not informed in advance that we needed to make a booking for the restaurant on our first day, but it was not an issue as there were local alternatives. Slightly dated decor and musty feeling in corridors, but this was a minor issue as everything was clean.

Very efficient breakfast service and attentive staff. Room was basic but comfortable and clean and the bed was very comfortable so we slept well.

It was a little unfortunate that our room was directly next to the lift so we had other guests outside our bedroom door having very loud conversations. We had a shower over bath arrangement and the water was too hot to have a shower safely. This didn't worry us for just one night but would have been a problem if we were staying longer.

Friendly, helpful staff. Maria, the lady looking after us in the dining area was lovely, attentive, nothing was too much trouble, good sense of humour. Our cleaning lady was also lovely, nothing too much trouble.

We thought we’d ordered breakfast with the booking, only to find we hadn’t. We feel breakfast should have been charged at the price it would have been, included in the booking, not extra.

The dinner menu could have benefited from more options on the menu ideally. I appreciate they are catering for a large number of people but our evening meal was cold which was a shame. However, we didn't raise this as an issue, so I'm sure if we had done it would possibly have been rectified.

Location, price, cleanliness.

My only complaint was that upon ordering only 2 hashbrowns and a vegan sausage for breakfast, I got instead a full plate with beans, fried bread, half a tomato, 2 hash browns, sausage, and a fried EGG )it looked great if that's the sort of breakfast you like) but egg is not vegan so that made me doubt the whether sausage was vegan or just vegetarian. Also rather wasteful to deliver so much breakfast to a person who only ordered a fraction of that.
