The location of the hotel was top-notch - absolutely next to the beach and in the quieter part of the town too. However, supermarkets and restaurants were just a 5-minute walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room had all the facilities needed for a short weekend stay.
I had opted for the Free Breakfast option. There were 4 choices - but the portions of food in one varied quite a bit from the other. They should look into this so that guests can get a proper value for their deal.

Clean, tidy, spacious sea view twin room with en suite facilities. Delightfully decorated. Tea and coffee making supplies, bottled water in a mini fridge. Free standing room fan. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Substantial English breakfast included in price. The hotel was better than expected, and the booking price was very reasonable. All the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Definitely recommended! ( note to the owner - you must post some photos of Room 3... it looks SO much better now you've updated it! )
It would have been useful to have a couple of clothes hooks on the back of the en suite door.

The room was sooo pretty. We loved it so much. Everything about it was perfect. The bed was so comfortable and the room design was also very nice. The seaview in the room made the room perfect. We even had a coffee machine of Nespresso. We also got cookies everyday with our coffee/tea in the room. The room was also cleaned every day. The staff were very very friendly. I’m definitely coming back!
The cleaning lady came everyday, but our bathroom wasn’t cleaned well. Also no clean towels every day. The cleaning lady also forgot to give us toiletpaper, but when we asked the staff, they were very nice about it and apologised so no problem at all. Breakfast was also very limited. They have four options.

Well positioned directly on the seafront and with an easy reach of all immunities and the town centre The rooms were very comfortable and had all of us required and these are now also in the process of being modernised The main restaurant and bar area again was lovely and clean and is also in the process of being modernised but even so is still a lovely place to stay and an improvement on how it was previously The food was outstanding and great value for money
There was nothing that I did not like about this property I am looking forward to returning when it has been fully modernised

Very clean room, fresh bedlinen & nice complimentary toiletries. It was really helpful to be able to eat a delicious home cooked evening meal at The Navigator looking directly out to sea and a beautiful sunset sky.
Occupants of neighbouring rooms leaving doors to slam loudly notably when someone left their room about 6.30am; possibly due to slow closing mechanism attached to top of door for fire safety reasons. A polite notice asking residents to close doors quietly during sleeping hours might do the trick.

A lovely b&b, with very friendly staff. The seaview room was cosy and characterful, and kept us warm in chilly January. We really enjoyed the views from the enclosed balcony, absolutely stunning. The owners (from September 2024) were open and kind and attentive (as were all the staff we encountered). The owners are clearly committed to providing a great experience for guests and are dedicated to bringing the hotel up to their high standards, such as through updating bathrooms and rooms when they can. This will understandably take time, but we cannot recommend Navigator enough as it currently is (and it will only get better). We enjoyed good food (so wonderful to have such a nice onsite restaurant, and open fire), the lovely atmosphere, the thoughtful attention to needs and the generous sized room with beautiful views. We recommend a walk down the seaside promenade outside. We are very much looking forward to coming back for food and a further stay!
Anything that needs updating in rooms is already known and acknowledged by the owners, so nothing needs to be mentioned and they are evidently very dedicated. The downstairs which has been updated and sorted out, is great, as are hallways and cleanliness, so I can't wait to see what future renovation holds.

The staff was lovely and friendly and helpful. The locals who were having a drink in there was all really nice as well. Very welcoming x The bed was made up beautifully and very cosy. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room as well. There was a fridge in the hallway with water that u could take and put 50p in a jar which was a nice touch. The TV was set at a good height to watch comfortably.
Just a bit dated but they were having it painted whilst I was there. The on suite was really cold, the light pull was hard to get working also just cut and high. The toilet was seriously close to big plastic toilet roll holder and the seat didn't fit well. The shower cubicle was very small and you couldn't adjust the shower spray it just came out like a mist. Also the taps on the shower were broken and hard to adjust.

Hotel was nicely laid out with the reception, bar and dining area. You could eat and drink inside or outside of the hotel. The restaurant was open for breakfast and for afternoon/evening meals. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly. Any enquiries we had were dealt with promptly. Our room included the bedroom and an additional room which we enjoyed when reading or just looking out to the sea.
Honestly - we had nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Food good comfortable bed . WiFi not good strength very weak. The bedroom door difficult to open loose lock . Stair were very steep difficult to get case up the stairs. Very, Friendly staff and a great atmosphere within the hotel, rooms kept very clean each day. Extra tea, coffee and milk, provided on request. Meals in the restaurant including breakfast perfect, very well presented, the view the closeness of the sea was amazing. The seafront and beach were just across the road from the navigator hotel close to everything. We stayed 04 days there will book again for a holiday David and Kate Simpson.
The view and closeness of the sea and beach . The friendly staff and great food.

Laid-back, old-fashioned style of hotel that doubles up as pub & cafe for residents and locals. Location is brilliant - on the seafront (with great sea views from the bedroom) and close to the town centre & all its amenities.
Our room had a leaking window with a sign saying 'please do not open'. This meant we could only open a small side window which did not give sufficient ventilation (for us at least - but then we do like fresh air!) nor enable us to hear the crashing waves (which is one of the appeals of a seafront hotel!). So we were too hot at night, despite it being mid-October.
