We loved the pirate themed room. It made my son SO happy - so that gets a 10/10. Location is bang on, if only Gullivers world was open when we went ! The play area was cute, the decor was fab , there is a small lego /play room just off the restaurant and a tv in the dining room.

The smell of the room wasn't great although not overwhelming. There was the remnants of a number 2 in the toilet when we got there but again not the worst thing to ever happen, just a tiny bit more care when cleaning. The breakfast menu that we saw the night before didn't match up with what was for breakfast on the morning so i was a little disappointed.

Everything. The location of this stay was truly wonderful, less than a couple of minutes down to the high street. The young lady in reception was very cheery, pleasant & helpful, explaining all about the stay, accommodation and facilities very well

Nothing. On arrival to the location the postcode, (sat nav), directed me slightly past the accommodation, on Booking.com it would probably be more helpful to state it's in the grounds of the theme park. Anyhow after making a quick call, whereby the lady answered immediately i was advised it was at Gullivers Kingdom, around 100yards back down the road

Friendly staff, great location, gorgeous view, good facilities. Had a microwave and fridge so kids had quick ready meals for tea before having a mooch around Matlock town on the evening. Beds are extremely comfortable.

Just a little dated in room and tired, by no means anything major and room itself clean. Just stains on surfaces etc. Also the lighting in the kids bunk bed bit is extremely dim, and as its in the corner with no windows etc it seems even darker. Also only 2 towels (1 hand 1 bath) and 4 people staying so perhaps mention before u go into room when staying.

We have stayed here for a weekend 4 Christmases in a row and each time it is a delight. The themed rooms are fantastic and very cosy. The location is right in Matlock Bath and the walk into Matlock itself is not unreasonably far. The staff have become increasingly more welcoming and helpful each year, this year they were outstanding. If you are staying in the castle looking block (wizard theme) on the first floor the views are spectacular, unfortunately the pirate looking block doesn't have the best view due to it being blocked by trees.

This is a little niggle - but two years in a row we have stayed in the same room and last year there was an issue with the TV that some one has programmed a whole bunch of reminders that change the channel on you, but much worse than that, someone has programmed the TV to turn on at around 1 or 2 AM on Sunday Morning. Which is quite a surprising way to be woke up. We were a little disappointed that after we raised this in 2023 it happened to us again in 2024 in the same room. Also something to bare in mind, the accommodation is made from something that resembles shipping containers. So if it is busy with kids, like it was this year, you will get a lot of noise from other quests.

What a lovely little place. As soon as I walked in all the kids were there playing in their Christmas PJ's with cartoons on in the background. My room was like being on the promenade so cute and exceptionally clean. I'll have to try the princess room or the pirate room next time. We had to leave early due to Grandson being sick but were informed we could get a refund which I really didn't expect. The receptionist couldn't have been any nicer if she tried. I'll be back in the summer with the whole family. This place is a credit to Matlock Baths.

My grandson was sick so I had to leave early I was gutted.

Lovely rooms, great entertainment and a fab location. Made improvements to menus since we last came which was a bonus and went on rides at the park that we'd not been on before. We've been here a few times now and each time it's been great and the kids have loved it.

The theme park entry, the computers to purchase tickets on the day went down and it was really busy as peak season. But went on my phone and bought tickets online so managed to get through the gates after a bit of a wait.

Mole was fabulous for me and my 6 year old and 2 year old. It was clean and comfortable and had a the facilities I needed. It had its own parking right outside which was valuable to me as it meant I could sort the luggage alone while being able to see the children at the same time. The location was wonderful with approx 100m walk to the entrance to gullivers kingdom and probably 200m into Matlock Bath high street. My children were able to walk the distance. The staff were super friendly and helpful which was so nice and kind and appreciated as this was the first time away on my own so I was a little uncertain if I could do it. The children’s evening entertainment was great as the staff were very friendly and it was included in the price which is good as I wasn’t sure what we would do that evening but all I had to do was turn up and there was a disco, ghost walk, marshmallows, spooky story at the camp fire etc. Fantastic view of the fireworks to end the night.

Nothing bad at all about the property. Mile was perfect and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. The restaurant lacked gluten free choices for children. The only option they had was hotdog sausage with chips. We had already had chips for lunch and he really wanted pizza so was in tears that there wasn’t anything to choose from.

The way they have made my son birthday special , the room was really nice decorated and very clean, the beds were comfortable , bedding very clean , towels very clean and soft. We stayed in the Pirate suite number 5 and it was just opposite the reception , we found a parking space nearby the stairs that went up to our room which was very convenient . It is very close to the Gulliver’s Kingdom . The shower was so powerful . The dinner was delicious and very reasonable priced. We was lucky enough to see the fireworks display as as part of Matlock Illuminations which it was amazing . My son had a very nice day at the park and sleeping over for his birthday.

It was a bit cold at night and there is no way you could put the radiator temperature up as it is locked to a certain temperature and during the night there were only 13 degrees in the room but once you warm up in the bed is ok .

Perfect location for a family break Great facilities for children and great day/evening entertainment on site for the family Staff all very helpful and friendly Food reasonably priced and of reasonable quality

Paid extra for the explorers themed room but think overall needed a deep clean and then it’s the little things like a plug for the kitchenette sink, kitchen roll for the kitchen roll holder, cleaner attending daily (don’t think they attended during 4 day stay), better stocked tea tray (only had two tea bags and two coffee sachets), more than one toilet roll, a toilet brush, a working fridge etc

The room itself was way above our expectations, was very clean and warm. Location is excellent and view from balcony (our room was cave 16) was amazing. Facilities were basic but very good, everything you could need. We arrived in middle of the worst thunder storm we have ever seen, but watching the lightning from our balcony was so cool. Childrens area in the room is very cool too with heavily themed bunk beds. Nice szed tv (which had hdmi port accessible for our firestick) and the facilities around lodge were very cool, and i imaginena really nice place to sit outside and have a beer or two in the summer... Already planning a return trip...

Few little things we thought could be improved were, signage to show access to resort was non existent, no signs on entrance road pointing to accomodation, you have to use keypad on gate for accomodation road entrance but there was no signage to this effect, only signage was for the park itself. It was dark when we arrived and lighting to lodge was a bit poor in places. Also there was a little bit of wear and tear to the room, ie carpet slightly worn and bathroom sink cracked slightly. Also room was large but only had std double size bed when they could have fit a larger one in. But overall would still massively recommend the accommodation.
