This is one of the most lovely places we have ever stayed at. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and this warmth continued throughout our stay. The room was incredible; huge, high end and the views from our room (7) were of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. It's a peaceful location, birds and sheep were all we heard. The accommodation gardens are very pretty. Everything in the room was spotless, and we had all we needed for our stay. The food was excellent, comparable to a top class restaurant. The homemade desserts were delicious and the omelettes at breakfast perfect. It's a good base for exploring The Peak District.
We liked everything 😊

This was our fourth stay and everything was just perfect again. I’m a wheelchair user and my wife and I just relax at the room and have room service for our evening meal. The weather was kind to us so we were able sit outside on the lovely deck and enjoy the sunshine. The evening meal of fish and chips was delicious and the full English breakfast the next morning was fantastic. The room is excellent for me as I’m able to move around in my wheelchair. The staff are very friendly and polite and welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate any extra requests you may have if they can. I’ve already booked to go back again in a few weeks.
Nothing everything in my opinion is perfect

Wow! What an exceptional find! From the warm welcome onwards, everything was superb. The owners are both welcoming and have instilled a warm atmosphere not only in the whole place, but also with their staff too. Our room was very clean, comfortable and warm, with lovely views and a nice seating area too. Even more exceptional was the way my wife's requirement for gluten free vegetarian food was not just accommodated, but welcomed with the chef designing several options for starter, main and dessert. As the owner said, as they create all their food from the raw ingedients, it is easy to produce the options (some allegedly "better" establishments should take note!). All meals, both breakfasts and dinners, were delicious and extremely well cooked, no soggy veg! There were plenty of options, including some interesting specials. Thank you for a lovely stay, and we will be back!
We really cannot think of anything!

Wow! You walk from the upper car park (not knowing that there’s a lower one right by the rooms if it’s your first stay) then have to walk back again and down to the lower car park with your bags….but Melanie in reception said ‘you won’t be disappointed!’ She was not wrong!!!! What a fabulous room!! We could seriously have lived there!! The view is gorgeous - utterly tranquil, with sheep going in and out of the fields just over the wall! The bed was huge and very comfortable, the sitting area also extremely comfortable and generous in size, and the bathroom (we asked for one that would definitely have a walk in shower rather than over/bath) was as large as our kitchen! All fittings and furnishings were of the highest quality. There’s a ‘drinks area’ which has a fridge, in which there was still and sparkling water and fresh milk. Plenty of teabags and coffee. We only wish we could have stayed another night! The food in the White Horse is good. We don’t eat red meat and were able to eat quite easily. Definitely recommend this place and would love to come back.
Leaving!

Exceptionally clean and comfortable, everything was in first class condition, no scuffed paintwork or stained carpets , both of which we have experienced in many hotels across the country. Every need was catered for, it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into providing everything a guest would need to be comfortable. The staff were really lovely and friendly and the food was excellent. We will certainly be going back in the future, thank you to everyone.
There was nothing to dislike, everything was spot on.

Second stay Lovely area not far from home. Great room, clean, tidy, great food in the pub
I would let these comments stop me staying here again but i prefer the lower block of rooms as feel more private. Room can get very warm due to south facing aspect with alot of windows, roof is a living roof so retains the heat well. Stayed here early spring and room temp was perfect. Stayed late spring with alot of sun and the room was very hot on returning. There is a fan and opening door and window does alleviate the heat

Staff are all excellent: friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. Very welcoming. The view over the hills and dales from the bedrooms is wonderful. Food is top notch and plenty of it. Would definitely recommend eating there even if not staying. Sunday lunch is marvelous and both the steak and fish are wonderful. The rooms have plenty of space and good storage although we would recommend taking a few clothes hangers yourself.
The sofa was a little soft/low for my personal taste (bit of a bad back) and the pillows are never like they are at home, but nothing was worn out or old.

The space was incredible, lots of room to move around & the view was peaceful. We had a standard room which was in the bottom block which we felt would be more private as the terrace wasn’t overlooked at all. We loved the little comfort touches of toiletries and real milk!
When I booked I struggled to see the difference between the standard & deluxe options so settled for the standard. The views are similar and both great. The only downside for me was the over the bath shower. I’m quite clumsy & climbing in & out wasn’t good for me so next time it’ll be a room with a walk in shower!

Tucked away in a breathtaking location, this hotel offers an unparalleled view of the surrounding natural beauty, providing a serene and picturesque escape for its guests. The Family Suite stands out for its spaciousness and immaculate cleanliness, ensuring a comfortable stay for families or groups. The comfort is further enhanced by the beds, which feature sparkling clean sheets, promising a restful night’s sleep. The suite’s bathroom is notably luxurious, boasting double sinks and spaciousness that one might expect to find in high-end American homes, adding a touch of opulence to the experience. Dining at the hotel’s on-site restaurant is a culinary delight, with delicious dinner options that cater to a variety of tastes, ensuring a satisfying end to our day. The convenience of free, easy, and ample parking accommodates guests with any car size, removing any parking hassles from the equation and making the arrival and departure process as smooth as possible.
Our journey to this secluded paradise did come with its challenges. The rural road leading to the hotel has been neglected for some time, requiring us to navigate with care and patience. This aspect might deter those not prepared for a somewhat adventurous drive. Additionally, while the hotel excels in providing a tranquil getaway, it falls short in meeting the needs of business travelers when it comes to connectivity. The slow WiFi connection is not conducive to quality online meetings, which could be a significant drawback for those needing to stay connected for work purposes like me.

Location was about 20 mins from Chatsworth house in the middle of countryside with good views. The bedrooms are only 10 years old with two sofas coffee table small dining table and two chairs and chairs on little patio to sit out. Large bathroom with double sinks. Very warm and tea coffee and kettle with mini fridge in room. Breakfast was exceptional. Cereals fresh fruit toast eggs sausage bacon avocado smoked salmon grilled tomatoes fresh fruit juice and teas and coffee. Very good value for money. It’s a small Inn with newly built bedrooms a few minutes walk on the land. Not the place to book for dinner but excellent for breakfast.
The pillows were too hard
