The Manor and the surrounding gardens were beautiful. The staff and service were excellent along with the food.

I'm a dog lover and own one, but I really don't think it's appropriate for dogs to be dining with guests. Especially when the owners can't control them.

Very clean, modern and didn’t want for anything. Met with a warm welcome. Taken to our room and everything explained. The young staff are a credit to the hospitality industry. The evening meal was huge, brilliant value and delicious. The choice of breakfast is great and a 10.30 check out was a bonus. I also found the bar prices very reasonable, only £4.60 for a rum and coke. If you want a nice chill out as a couple I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the oak hill hotel. Enjoyed our stay without complaint

Great location with walks and village on the doorstep, set in very pretty gardens. We enjoyed sitting in these in the evening as it was a very hot day when we visited. Friendly, helpful staff, nice room with great shower. Restaurant was very good (better than we had expected); breakfast was very nicely prepared and offered good variety. We thought the hotel was good value for our overnight stay and we would happily stay again.

It was very hot in the room, even with a fan, but then you don’t get such high temperatures very often in Derbyshire! Some drinking water in the room would have been good but really very little to dislike here.

The location, the property itself, the staff - all were amazing and I would definitely come back again.

I couldn’t fault this property. It would be great if the windows in the family room opened a tad more but can understand that due to needing to keep to a certain style child safety windows can’t be put in and opened wider when adults are in the rooms. A fan was placed in the room so we were happy. One of my party was gluten free and the breakfast was a bit of a let down when not replaced with gf items. But small issues and still would give the place full star rating

We loved our stay at the hotel and the pictures really don’t do the hotel justice. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere as you come up the drive, with the beautiful gardens and seating areas outside. The building is stunning and feels like a real treat place to stay. We arrived early and couldn’t check in but were greeted by the lovely reception team who were very friendly and welcoming. We left our car and had a lovely walk over the tops to Matlock. The rooms are large and lovely with everything you need and beds very comfortable. We only had the breakfast but this was very tasty and the portion sizes were perfect. The location for us was perfect with walks along the canal or into Matlock Bath, Matlock, with various options up and over the tops looking down into the valley. Thank you everyone at the hotel, you were all so kind and helpful and we will be back.

I cannot fault this hotel. The room was beautiful, bed comfy, towels fluffy. Quiet at night and a great location. Having breakfast both mornings in the garden was an exceptional treat. What sets this apart from other places I have stayed is the staff - I felt like my comfort was th emost important thing in the world - I felt very cherished! I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area.

I suppose one word of warning to those of you that aren't mobile - there is no lift. Didn't bother me but may be a consideration for others.

The staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel building is beautiful, the bathrooms deco/fittings on the ground floor are spectacular and the menu choices and food served is very tasty. The location is fantastic, short walk from Cromford's shops, pubs and eateries.

Not a thing I didn't like but the only thing that would given a little extra value to our stay would to have provided a vanity set in the room. A little pack that usually contains a cotton wool pad, shower cap and emery board. It would have been useful as I had forgotten to bring these things with me. Apart from that everything was great.

Absolutely beautifully renovated period hotel with the most lovely and attentive staff imaginable. Our room was lovely, we had dinner there one night which was fantastic and felt very boutique/intimate and special! We also had a lovely breakfast. Every interaction with different staff was lovely including helpful descriptions of nearby walking routes - which we promptly followed! We are now home, feeling both refreshed from our stay at this lovely hotel, and knackered from two days of walking!

There was some noisy building works going on but it didn’t bother us as to renovate a beautiful old building like this - it has to be done sometime!

All the rooms(bedroom, dining room, lounge area and snug) were very tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, lovely shower and big fluffy towels, the grounds were very well kept and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Menus for breakfast, dinner and drinks were really good with lots of choice. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. Good location for exploring the area.

The only very small fault we could find was that there was were no suitable towel rails or hooks for the big fluffy towels in the bathroom.

Beautiful Grade II listed building, lovely well maintained grounds, period features, tasteful decor, room was described as small but we found it exceeded our expectations, comfortable bed with great pillows and crisp sheets, fluffy bath towels, nice toiletries, spotless bathroom, tv with all channels and no subscription only options, easy to find and park, professional friendly staff who deliver exceptional customer service and clearly enjoy their jobs, great dinner and breakfast, would definitely return! Great location to visit Matlock Bath.
