Was lovely and homely. Had all the facilities needed. Room was nice and big and a huge bathroom/shower. Was in a good location, only a 10 min walk into Bath town.

The outside of the property may put some people off but you get a lovely surprise when you go inside!

Great location, easy walk into town. Staff very helpful with recommending things to do & walks from the hotel. Room was nice & spacious, comfortable bed. Shower had a good pressure. Everything is nice & clean. The aircon was already turned on, great to walk into a cool room on a hot day. Parking was included, which was perfect for me as I was working in the town centre all day.

Sadly the room smelt of cigarette smoke, I know it's obviously from previous guests staying in the room, not the staff smoking & the smell is difficult to get rid of. Marked cleanliness down only for this reason.

An excellent stay. As ever the room was delightfully cosy and inviting with a very comfortable bed and lounge area. Fridge, coffee machine, air con (which kept things nice and cool on these hot summer nights) Excellent private bathroom. The entire premises are very well maintained and spotlessly clean with clear attention to detail. Free on-site parking which is one less thing to worry about. Staff incredibly polite and helpful. Quiet outdoor patio at rear. Had a delicious meal and a pint or two in the bar area on one of the evenings, and even a game of scrabble!

Can't be faulted in any way. My second stay here and this place is exceptional. Can confidently recommend to all.

The property was a nice pub , with parking behind . The room was lovely and large more like a suite. It had a living area overlooking the front street. The manager was lovely and helpful.

The only negative comment would be the location. It was situated about a 20 minute downhill walk to main Bath and Abbey, easy enough however coming back up the steep hill would have been about an hour even if you’re super fit . However there was an easy bus from town centre which too ypu to Bear flats and the stop was directly across the road from pub . There was also a handy convenience store across the road and a coffee shop nearby,

We stayed in room 3, really spacious room. Very comfortable bed. Coffee maker, kettle, and fridge, which was great. The room was very clean and although situated on the road it was really quiet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had already booked dinner and breakfast prior to booking the hotel, so we didn't eat there. The pub area had a really super atmosphere, lots of board games to play whilst having a glass of wine : ) Tom, the manager, was really welcoming when we arrived, and when I mislaid a ring, the team searched the room and went over and beyond to search for it. The hotel is located approximately 15 minutes to walk outside of the city centre. For my partner and I, we enjoyed the walk. However, there is a bus stop outside the hotel and a 5 minute drive to a car park in Bath if you want to drive. The refurbishment is great. Thank you for a super stay. We will see you again. After a birthday treat staying at the Bear, we would definitely recommend Bear decor was really pretty and well put together, pub, corridors and room have a lovely style :) Lovely warm en suite and great shower! Plenty of car parking for guests round back Location just a 10 min walk down hill to BATH, short taxi back ;) Bear staff were so friendly and helpful :) Bear veggie breakfast was the best I've had for ages!!

Bear decor was really pretty and well put together but could do with a little freshen up of paint here and there in room 5, that's all as it really was lovely :)

Our room (number 6) was amazing. It had a huge bathroom with a double shower and free-standing claw foot bath tub with double sinks, very modern. The room also had a sitting area with a settee, a chair, a coffee table, and a huge TV, beautifully decorated. The bar is great again, beautifully decorated which had live music from 8pm to 10pm. A huge bonus for us was free, private parking. Although the hotel is just outside of the city centre, the bus stops just outside and drops you off at the bus station in about 4min if you did not want to walk, we found it very easy. The breakfast is the biggest we have ever had. However, this did not take away from the quality of the produce. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff were friendly and attentive from the get-go, dinner and breakfast also exceeded expectations. The room was much bigger than the photos made out. Very happy that the bus stop into town was also right outside the inn too!

The only thing I wanted to mention was the strange smell in the stairway/hall area where the rooms were - it smelt of something like damp or urine. The smell was not in our room nor the rest of the pub so thought it was abit odd. Maybe it was carpet cleaner fluid or something?

The inn is a charming little establishment with a pub on the ground floor and rooms on the second floor. The staff members were lovely to speak to and were very helpful in terms of recommending local places to visit. The room was clean and was decorated nicely. The location is nice and is walkable from the train station (as long as you don't mind hills). We very much enjoyed our stay.

The pub prices were a little high and we had to wait longer than usual to order, but I suspect that this is because the restaurant was short staffed.

The attention to detail – the owner has clearly put a lot of work into making the accommodation both comfortable and stylish, and we absolutely loved the decor of our room, but also the whole inn. It was stylish but also warm and welcoming. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was superb, especially the sea bass I ate on one of our nights. The location was great, and we really enjoyed our visit to Alexandra Park, which is close by and was recommended to us on arrival.

Only because I'm so fussy that I like sleeping in near arctic cold, I thought the air con unit could have been even more effective (it seemed not to be blowing out of the whole of the unit but rather on one side) and made the room a nice cool rather than cold.
