Oldfields House... what is there to say about this place than: Magical! My wife and I did a long two weeks tour through England where we spent every night in a different Hotels, Inns or B&Bs, and the only regret we have is that we did not stay longer at the Oldfields House. It is an old Victorian house turned into a Inn, with furniture and decoration like from a romantic novel. One has the feeling to travel back in time, from the bar to the breakfast room, everything is up to theme, kept in great conditions. However the most charming moments were upon arrival with one of the most adorable hostesses we have encountered. To this day we regret not remembering her name for she was so charismatic and quick witted that we knew upon entry that this was going to be a wonderful stay. (We do remember that she was a past teacher ;)). Like with a good book, I do not wish to give more away but rather encourage anybody and everybody to go and spent a night or two and experience it for themselves. When it comes to us, we are already looking for a great excuse to return to this place!

The location was very good and the staff were lovely. The building itself was also very nice. Staff were accommodating when I asked to swap to still water and also when I needed a fan for my room. The views from both the bedroom and bathroom were also very nice and the place was kept very clean and tidy.

The parking situation wasn’t ideal. Initially the website said it was free which sadly wasn’t the case. Then after we had accepted it was £10 a day, the spaces were incredibly difficult to park in and there were only 5 dedicated spots. The toilet was also very loud and rattly whenever you even thought about moving it or touching it. I do also think the room should have both still and sparkling water available rather than assuming guests want sparkling.

lovely friendly staff. we had a lovely little room with a king-sized comfy bed and a stunning view. now in a smart hotel in our next city and we definitely miss our character filled home for 2 days. breakfast was nice although my toast was warm bread but the eggs are cooked to perfection. it was my husbands birthday and bless them they had sent a card, balloons and rose petals on bed - so thoughtful. complementary large bottle of water and tea making facilities, biccies, kettle etc. ample covers and pillows although we slept on top of the bed with the window wide open as the weather was so warm.

en suite toilet seat was damaged and the coating peeling off and the shower tiles need regrouting making it look grubby but it was clean enough and nice towels and wash gels. would benefit from a mini fridge as I had to stand my oat milk in cold water. found fresh red but dry blood on duvet and both sides of the door sign but this was briskly changed when we mentioned and we think one of the housekeepers may have nicked herself and not realised. These were all little things that didn't stop us enjoying our stay at all.

Located in the outskirts of Bath. The GBP 10 unsecured hardly accessible parking with a few unorganised spaces only seemed like a rip off. I even didn't think of trying to fit our SUV. Upon arrival, I was not asked about my trip but welcomed by "Did you arrive by car? What is your number plate?". I had called the property before check-in to ask about nearby parking options and the answer was "I don't know". Well, check and inform yourself. They offer a street parking permit against GBP 10 per day. Tip: The parking on the opposite street is free from 6pm until 8am. The window in the room had a broken part and couldn't close. We waited for a male member of the team to come and fix it. He managed to close it which meant that we couldn't open it to ventilate for the rest of our stay. Bogdan was friendly and did the extra mile coming at night out of his working hours to assist. It is a shame that the receptionist said said there is nothing she could do. Good, she called him. I assume a room move was impossible due to full occupancy. Small shower.

The location was close to Bath with great views. Parking was a bonus but had to be paid for. Fabulous staff team. The rooms was large and beautifully decorated. Liked the bespoke vibe and antiques. Lots of white fresh towels and good toiletries. Selection of tea and coffee. Robes were a great bonus. We loved the room and will return soon

Maybe a choice of continental breakfast at a lower price. We did not eat at the house as we thought cost of breakfast very pricey and we are bot big breakfast eaters. Maybe coffee tea and toast etc for a better rate?

Location was excellent. The breakfast was great value for money and cooked to perfection.im gluten free and everything was on offer to meet that. The hotel was lovely and clean. The room was great fully equipt with everything. It was lovely and warm. Its a short walk from the town but also has a bus stop right outside. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend. The staff were so friendly and helpful couldnt do enough for you.they were an absolute pleasure to meet. Bianca that worked on our last night was an absolute dream. A lovely young lady whom we had a great chat with and she gave us some lovely ideas of things to do on our next visit.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. We were happy to be on the upper floor – the view was absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and tidy, with a nice tea/coffee set, and although the bathroom was small, it was more than enough for us. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the charming garden, a perfect spot to relax. The paid parking was convenient, and the town center was within walking distance (a bit uphill, but manageable). A lovely place – we definitely recommend it!

Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was warm and comfortable, clean and well presented. Access and security easy and reassuring. Close enough to walk to the city centre to all the attractions the city had to offer and there was a helpful guest pack with lots of information in the room. We were meeting family in the city so we didn't have breakfast.

Parking was very tight (not surprising given the city location) and I needed my wife's help to direct me to get the car out. The walk into the city is all downhill, so it was a bit of a hike back (but there are local buses). Room was in the basement so no view from the window, and the room was quite 'compact' - but we had enough room for our brief stay (and there is a large guests lounge available). There was some distracting noise (knocking on floor above?) and audible raised voices late at night. That said, I would not let it put me off staying again.

We came to Bath and stayed at Oldfields for a weekend getaway, and we couldn't be happier! It's not in the centre of the city but there are buses that take you, or its a lovely 15-minute walk into town. The bed in the photos was a 4-poster which isn't what we got, but that's a small negative! The bed itself was VERY comfortable, and the room was bright, warm and clean.

The only downside was the breakfast: we got the full-english both the veg and non-veg options on our last day before driving, but it was very disappointing. The portion was not as big as we'd expected, but more importantly the food itself was very dry. The veg sausages were overcooked and mealy, the toast was tough. The eggs were decent but in general the food itself was lacking flavour (including salt). We didn't try other breakfast options (eggs benedict was going to be our other option), those may be better, but honestly the full english and continental breakfasts were disappointing.

I liked being able to stay in a Victorian house. The room was clean, had plenty of light and was spacious for a single person. The house was in an area just out of Bath city centre, so it was quiet and peaceful. There was a lovely sitting room you could use, and although I did not have the breakfast it did look delicious.

There wasn't much to dislike. I do not drive, so I did have to walk to the house from the station. It is only a 10-15 min walk, so no issues. Again with being a Victorian house, there can be many stairs - no lifts - and the rooms are on the smaller side. This did not bother me as a solo traveller but could affect others.
