Very friendly welcome, nice atmosphere in pub, had a meal. Room was fine, cute building

Room was pretty hot, could do with aircon. Opened windows but got woken by a drunken lady singing at 3.30! Not something hotel can control- actually no noise from the pub itself.

The atmosphere of the place is brilliant and the staff were so helpful and friendly. It's a gorgeous quirky old building but well formed. The twin room was comfortable with a great coffee pod machine. We had a light lunch of a cheese board which was delicious but the icing on the cake was their Sunday Roast which was amazing especially as I have a vegetarian roast and believe me there are some bad ones but honestly the vegetarian wellington and all the trimmings was exceptional. My friend had the Roast beef and she thought it was one of the best she has eaten.

Very minor issue which was the shower could do with a bit more pressure. The only other one was the Seagulls making quite a bit of noise (although they were humorous) but that is out of the Griffin's control as they are everywhere in Bath. None of these silly issues would stop me from returning.

On starting my planning for this trip to England I considered a cruise ship booking but I desired the interaction with local people and a cruise does NOT do that, resorts and fancy accommodations are not my thing even if they were in my budget. I searched for inns(pub below and accommodations above). #1 I've never been one to sit and socialize at a "bar" in the States but here in England the Pubs the communal watering hole and just a part of the culture her AND I always choose an Inn close to the train station and downtown. The Griffin Inn met and exceeded those expectations. Rycroft, the Inn keeper, and his merry band at The Griffin Inn made my 5 day stay one I will always cherish. The Griffin Inn was like staying at a room above Cheers(tv show). After a day of touring and exploring it was wonderful to walk into the pub and I was someone in a strange land and after freshening up upstairs I'd come down for a pint, or two, and possibly have a delicious dinner without going out! Great location which I didn't realize till id walked around Bath(beautiful city) for a couple days. My room was small( I'm on a budget, but it was clean, coffee (of course tea) in the room and perfect for my needs. just a great little inn but Rycroft, only one thing missing ,,I want a T-shirt with your proud and beautiful Griffin Inn logo on it! Food great, location superb, fantastic value!

That I had to leave and no T shirt to remember your lovely inn on future travels and at home on Kauai. well done!

Staff was very nice. I stayed in room 3, which was the twin bed and the separate bathroom. The room was very cute and bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean. The food downstairs was delicious. The location was perfect and pretty central to everything you could do there. Small fan was provided to help with the warm room.

I couldn’t get the window to stay cracked open or the curtains to stay up, I was going to ask the staff for help but they were very busy at the pub. The room doors closed forcefully which made me jump a few times but it didn’t bother me much. The shower head in my bathroom was quite dirty/moldy so it needs to be cleaned or replaced. I found it quiet throughout the night but I stayed a Sunday night.

The rooms are beautiful. Beds are so comfy. Tea coffee sugar coffee machine and toiletries are good quality. Bar and restaurant is great. Decorated lovely throughout. Location is ideal .Staff are spot on 👌 asked the inn before we arrived if they could help me with purchasing a helium balloon for the room as it was my mums 60th birthday and we were travelling from Devon to get there in the evening. They got the big 6 0 balloons attached to the headboard of the bed :) my mum was so so happy . They went above and beyond. Thank you so much guys . We loved it here were definitely coming back !!

The location was perfect. A short walk from the train station and a few steps from the city centre. It was especially convenient being able to drop things off at my room during the day and keep exploring. The room and bathroom were spotless and modern. The coffee machine and TV were a definite plus. They take great care in making sure you enjoy your experience, down to the little things.

The building is old so the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours. That being said, it wasn't too much of a disruption. I would still stay here next time I'm in Bath.

I loved the location of the Inn. It was very close to everything I wanted to see. I loved the charm of the place; being in such an old building had cool vibes. I liked being able to grab a drink easily at the bar right there. I liked it that there is a separate entrance to go in if I didn't want to walk through the entire restaurant. And I also loved that there was a special seating area/lobby that the guests could use which contained tables, chairs and games to borrow. I thought that was very convenient although I didn't use.

I'd say the only thing that was a bummer was that in the app it said we could reach out if we wanted to store our luggage. I text the phone number provided as well as called several different phone numbers several times and I was not able to reach anyone. So unfortunately on my checkout day I did have to carry my luggage around quite a bit which was a little bit of an inconvenience. But this would not deter me from rebooking, I would just plan accordingly.

The inn is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from the train station. It’s also in the heart of Bath, making it easy to get around and reach all the places you want to visit.

The inn is over 300 years old, so there is no elevator or air conditioning. However, the property is very well maintained, and the room is exceptionally clean. All the in-room facilities are fully functional and in good working condition.

Absolutely amazing staff. From check-in to pub service to an impromptu history overview from the manager on Friday night— staff are truly amazing. Also liked the room decor, and all the little extra touches included in-room biscuits, a radio, luxurious bedding, and an oscillating fan for warm weather.

Consider checking the shower drain in the « Orchard » bathroom. Drain may be partially clogged.
