Great stay. Lovely hotel and staff, room full of character, and super location. Would stay again.

Was hard to cool the room during a heatwave. Wouldn’t be an issue 99% of the time. Also there was a fire alarm in the early hours which dragged us all out the building, and had to wait for the fire brigade to investigate before going back to sleep. No one from the hotel came to help so we worked it out as a group of guests (not the end of the world) so I assume no staff sleep on site but that wasn’t ideal when we didn’t know the property or even where all the rooms were to make sure everyone made it out ok without any staff help.

Location was brilliant; right by Charlotte Street Car park so a very convenient walk with our bags. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel prior to check in which was so simple and helpful. Our room was nicely decorated and had a private spiral staircase to the bedroom and shower with the toilet up another flight of stairs.

Apparently they were in the process of updating their booking system which led to me receiving a message detailing what I owed having already pre-pid online. Spoke to reception and they were very helpful and cleared up the matter quickly, confirming all had been pre-paid.

We decided to stop off in Bath on our way to Pembrokeshire so I had booked this hotel a few weeks back. It is nicely tucked away and pretty central for the city. 4 minute walk to the Roman baths and about 15-20 mins to the botanical gardens, crescent etc and close to the river walks also. You can fit a lot in during one day due to the great location of the hotel. Staff were great and there are some other good facilities in the building, eg restaurant, working areas, bar and lounge. Rooms are a reasonable size, comfortable and have what you need. Only thing I would change is the pillow size, they should provide the big one they already do as well as a smaller thinner one, it was too big for me and not great for the neck! That’s the only thing I could fault so it did pretty well! I gave it 8 instead of 9 mainly because it doesn’t have a gym or pool etc which I knew anyway but that’s what would have made it stand out even more than it already did. The price I thought was fantastic considering how central it was and how nice the accommodation is.

The customer service was very good, they were kind and accommodating. Our room was very cold, so I asked for an extra heater which they willingly sourced for us. I also needed regular ice packs, which they were happy to put in their freezer for me. As I was on crutches, i emailed in advance and they kindly ensured I was on just the first floor so I didn't have to climb up and down too many stairs. Very grateful! Breakfast was nice and was a perk with it being included as a booking.com genius extra. It could be improved by having some ham and cheese included in the continental. Really central location which made it very easy for us to walk around the city and enjoy all the things we wanted to see and do.

As mentioned, the room was very cold, I think it's perhaps just the nature of the building? And we didn't seem to then be able to open our windows in the morning to let some fresh air in, not too much of an issue in the winter though. The internal walls are also very thin, so you can hear conversations and footsteps of people coming and going, but didn't cause us too much of an issue. The hotel put disposable earplugs in the room for anyone who wanted them.

Best hotel we've stayed in for years every aspect of our stay outstanding. Location central with great pub and cafe opposite and everything close by. Less than 5 mins to Roman Baths. Staff so friendly yet professional Cleanliness perfect. Decor is amazing whoever is their interior designer to be commented it works well. Our bedroom so wonderfully decorated with all facilities coffee machine tea coffee etc and fresh water supplied. Breakfast essential with individual attention. We will definitely return

Everything was outstanding no faults at all

Perfect central location, wonderful breakfast options, great value, exceptional, extra helpful & friendly staff, fun room decor, fabulous communications and super comfy in a historic building.

Spacious bathroom but a little dated compared to superior room, peeling paint & some mould in shower grout, window condensation, broken blind and overlooked by buildings opposite. In a front room so aware of outside noise as bars nearby but it is a characterful old building in a city centre location, so not surprising. Staircases showing wear and a little hard on the eye! Personal colour preference. :) Otherwise would have given 9.

LOVED the hottub, staff were friendly and helpful. Great location, very close to the main town/Roman Baths etc. The staff really went the extra mile to facilitate a good experience for my partners birthday and really made it special. We were able to store our baggage before checkout and after checkout which was really helpful. The room was warm, clean and very spacious. The breakfast was fantastic, lots of options available including dairy free, the breakfast staff were attentive.

When I arrived it took about 5-10 minutes for anyone to come to reception, which would've been fine if I wasn't on a tight schedule. The hotel is mostly lovely but a little run down in places.

Nice boutique hotel in an excellent location for visiting Bath. Nicely decorated throughout Staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very nice.

Room on the small side - and very hot (though it was 30 degrees when we visited). It's a renovated historic building so perhaps to be expected. Be prepared to climb a few flights of stairs if you're staying on the upper floors!

Nice city centre hotel with an excellent location

A few things; the room are smaller than they look on the site - good photography! Very limited parking - the parking was a 5 min walk away with cases and costs £20 per day. Things like milk a coffee weren't refreshed in the room, our towels were left damp, and we found a pair of used knickers in our bathroom cabinet. To be fair, the staff dealt with this very well, cleaning it immediately and leaving us a small bottle of proesco and. acrd to apologise.

Location is perfect and just a 3-4 min walk from Charlotte Street Car Park. Is walking distance from all the great attractions, restaurants, hotels, etc. Room is sized perfectly for one or two people and the breakfast options are good (though I would personally recommend going literally 10 metres away from the entrance to Wild Cafe who have AMAZING breakfast options).

Very minor point, which is made clear before booking so not at all the fault of the hotel, but the rooms at the top are only accessible by stairs so it works fine with me but I can imagine may be a bit tedious if you have mobility issues or a lot of luggage. But this also comes with the benefit of some gorgeous views so it's more than worth it for me.
