The central location was great. On a quiet street. Third floor city view over the rooftops was perfect as we were not overlooked.

Disappointingly small bar area although the barman was very good. Breakfast not value for money. Excellent breakfast choice to be had along the road at half the price. Surprised to be charged room service supplement! Receptionist said this was a ‘tip’ for cleaning staff and optional. Sad to be presented with extras added to our account when we are trying to pay the bill. Prior warning would have been courteous.

Modern, clean, comfortable rooms. Spa and pool area are outstanding and one of our main reasons for booking.

While the room rates are very reasonable, given the quality of the hotel, the food and drink prices border on ridiculous. We really wanted to enjoy breakfast in the hotel restaurant but £40pp is just abhorrent. Cocktails at £18ea - again I know this is Bath centre but better value drinks and we will drink more overall - not rocket science. A small coffee wins at £6 - wow. We would have dined in and drunk a lot more if the menus offered better value. As it was we spent several hundred pounds at many of the fine bars and restaurants immediately outside the hotel.

Lovely looking hotel and lovely spa in the morning before breakfast

We had a disabled bathroom which was strange as we had not requested one, but it was fine. The front desk attempted to hold back £15 from our £100 deposit as a discretionary “service charge”, despite us having paid for everything already and not having used any additional services. I thought this was unnecessary and cynical. They were not consistently charging this to guests who were checking out either, and seemed to rely on people either being too embarrassed to question this or not to notice at all. Very odd and not a good look frankly.

We went at great expense to stay at a spa hotel, when we got there, we were told from 10-6pm we would have to pay £70-00 per person to use the spa baths/pool which we were very dissapointed about considering we had already nearly spent £500 for the room for 1 night

The spa is only available to guests for free during very limited hours that are as follows , during breakfast 8- 10 or during dinner 7-9pm . Otherwise it’s 70 per person .

This is a superior hotel. Staff and service are top.

There are a lot of hidden extras at a high cost. We assumed hotel guests could use the spa at no extra cost all day. There was an extra charge of £70 per person between 10am and 7pm. Our booking included breakfast but to have a full English breakfast you had to pay an extra £40.

A beautifully restored hotel with all of the amenities necessary for a leisure vacation abroad. Bath is exceptional, yet our private tour guide took us to Stonehenge and the village of Mel’s for an exceptional meal. Highly recommend that visitors consider exploring the countryside. Lovely.

Very little to not like; e feel the spa was lovely, treatments a bit pricey but expected on Holiday in such a luxurious location as Bath, England.

Everything, apart from the spa.could not fault the staff or our room, restraunt was Excellent and very well priced.

The spa was a massive let down, most of it was off/faulty. Entry times were in the middle of breakfast or dinner. And Extremely busy due to the small time frame.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots to choose from. The hotel itself feels really luxurious, and the rooms and bathrooms are so spacious. The spa is beautifully designed and has such a calming vibe. The beds are super comfortable, and I loved the free Elemis soaps and lotions – they smell amazing. The location couldn’t be better, everything you need is close by.

The only downside for me was the spa. The steam room often stopped producing steam for long stretches, which I’ve never come across in other 4- or 5-star hotels and really does need attention. I also found the ban on phone use unreasonable, as it’s not a rule I’ve experienced elsewhere or necessary. The lighting in the bedroom could be brighter.

Food and beverage average excluding breakfast. Dinner prices expensive and service was scripted and didn’t feel genuine. The bartender was good. Poor service in the lounge on arrival. I’m Still waiting for my order to be taken! Dinner - food average- expensive steak with poor quality chips. Would expect hand cut or frites. No small bottles of water - not good for a solo traveler. F&B service not five star. I’m sure Bath is a competitive and difficult place to recruit genuine foodie team members.
