Staff very friendly. A warm welcome. Room and bathroom quite spacious. Loved being able to open the big sash windows.Food in restaurant very good.

Young staff wearing casual clothes. Would like to have seen uniforms in a 4* hotel. Not a very professional first impression. Pillows very hard. Nice to have a choice of softer pillows. No information in the room. On arrival, we had to ask times for breakfast and dinner but when we asked to see a menu, the young lady printed a copy for us which we appreciated. Visited during a heatwave but we couldn't get any cool water in the shower. Even on lowest setting it was too hot to stand under.

Beautiful country house set away from roads. The staff were delightful, polite and very smiley. The breakfast was good but the evening meal was exceptional albeit London prices The rooms were large and very comfortable

The weather but not the hotels fault!! My only suggestion would be to have a top sheet under duvet as it was still warm weather wise and the quilt was too warm .

Location was ideal, clean environment. Parking available. Well kept grounds. Staff catered for allergies extremely well and were very pleasant. Overall a good experience.

We were allocated quite a small room at the top of the staircase and were disturbed by noisy guests throughout the night. Struggled with the bath taps to get the water temperature right. Added to it a couple of flies and a spider visited us in the room.

A fantastic location, peaceful and picturesque. The hotel/house was magnificent and decorated tastefully and and stylish. Our room was beyond expectation. Beautiful views from large bay windows and a very handy and comfortable Chez Long to take it all in from. Spacious yet cosy, well decorated and set out. The roll top bath made for easy relaxation. Afternoon tea was fab, followed by a walk through the gardens and down to the river. The staff were both professional and friendly. Very helpful and cheery. Breakfast was a treat, the food was really tasty. We totally recommend a visit and stay here, and will be doing so ourselves again. Thank you everyone for making our stay as great as it was.

It was stunning. The building, decor, bedroom, bathroom-everything was beautiful. All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional and the breakfast was epic! (I wish I’d taken a photo!)

My only criticism is that the shower/water pressure in the bathroom wasn’t that great.

A beautiful building in a beautiful location. We were served cream tea on arrival which included the most delicious scones we have ever tasted. Dinner was fabulously cooked and presented and we were served by two very friendly, polite and helpful waitresses who actually seemed happy to be there. Breakfast was the same, obviously good quality food and very well cooked and presented. An altogether wonderful relaxing experience and we definitely hope to visit again.

There was absolutely nothing to find fault with.

Beautiful property in a beautiful setting and the staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. We were given a free upgrade of room which made the stay extra special. Breakfast was very nice, tasty, hot, presented well and the produce was fresh and of high quality. Room attendant was polite and replenished the room with cold water, both still and sparkling. She also bought mother a fresh cup of coffee which was a lovely gesture.

There wasn’t a lift and 92 year old mother found the stairs difficult.

Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful with any small queries we had. Dinner was far better than anything we had expected with a beautiful view, and service was immaculate. Manager took time to speak to each of the guests in the morning at breakfast. Very comfy beds and lovely, peaceful location.

To be expected in an older hotel, but noise travelled from reception to our room quite clearly - only really an issue in the early morning. Usually wouldn't be a problem at all, but TV signal was a bit patchy while trying to watch the Rugby World Cup. Certainly nothing that spoilt a lovely stay!

Dinner & Breakfast - all very good. Service was excellent, the Hotel was well mainbtained and clean. The gardens in particular are superb and well worth a walk around if you have the time.

No lift in original builkding - but its only 1 floor. They cant do anythign about it without HUGE expense and possibly destroying the character of the place - so pelase DONT put the lift in. Plenty of ground level rooms and suits however

Excellent location and mostly comfortable. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. Lovely dining room with an ideal view to the gardens.

The duvet had too much tog. I was sweating a good deal and got up for a pee to come back to wet sheets which made it uncomfortable. I would recommend putting a lower tog duvet on the bed with a 'throw'. My wife did not enjoy her evening meal as the fish was very dry but the hotel gave us a refund which was very gracious.
