Buccleuch Guest House was a great option for exploring the Highlands. We used it as a base for hiking Ben Nevis, which is only a 5 min drive away. The guest house is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff was nice and accommodating. There were a lot of vegan and gf options for breakfast.
We had booked the small room, which lived up to its name - it was very small. Opening up our one and only suitcase, we were able to squeeze it under the bed, just about. There were hardly any surfaces or hooks in the bathroom to put down/hang a bathroom kit. I didn't love the cooked vegan breakfast because the sausages were not to my liking and the rest of the breakfast consisted of a red and green peppers stir fry and baked beans. I would have liked some mushrooms and tomatoes instead of those peppers but was happy to even have the option of a vegan cooked breakfast.

The car parking was safe and ample. We had a very warm welcome, where everything was explained. Ordering the inclusive breakfast was straightforward - WhatsApp the owner who responded to all our requests immediately. Well appointed, comfortable room - spotlessly clean, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely views of the loch from our room. Within easy walking distance of the town and all it's facilities. Extensive choices for breakfast, including vegetarian options. We thoroughly recommend and would return if staying in the area.
There was nothing to fault.

It was a beautiful old building we had the front room overlooking the lake with lovely old period furniture and huge bay window with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was provided in the gorgeous breakfast room overlooking the lake Lorna cooked up a delicious full breakfast with fresh ingredients and was a lovely friendly host. We could walk to town to eat and go on the Jacobite Steam Train we didn’t need the car while we stayed there. We would recommend this property for your stay in Fort William

Me and my daughter had a fabulous stay here. The host was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. The breakfast was delicious and kept us full all day! There was a great variety of food and the host even cooked us vegetarian sausages with our breakfast and gave us alternative milk on request, it was lovely. We slept very well, the room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The location was ideal with only a short walk to all amenities. The views from our bedroom window was exceptional. We enjoyed the climb to Ben Nevis which was only a 5 minute drive away. We would definitely recommend and come back here again.

The location was great, within walking distance of the city centre and the train station. The view of the loch out our window was outstanding. The room was large, and the bathroom was modern and clean. Our host was very friendly and breakfast was delicious
This is not the hosts' fault, but there was a lot of traffic noise. The guesthouse is on the main road into Ft William and there is a large pothole in the road in front of the house. When large trucks go by (of which there were many) they made a lot of noise when they hit the pothole. Again, not the fault of our host, but maybe add something in the description that it is on a very busy road.

Excellent location after the end of the West Highland Way, exactly what was needed after our journey. We were also lucky to have a bathtub in our en-suite room, which was a welcomed surprise. The room we had was spacious, clean and cozy. The breakfast was wonderful and the hosts were a lovely couple. A top rated stay in Fort William.
Nothing, our stay was perfect.

The breakfast was really excellent! Superb selection of cold food and freshly prepared hot food cooked to order. Couldn't fault it at all on both days we stayed. Really friendly service by Lorna, the owner.

Buccleuch guest house is perfectly located for anyone climbing ben nevis like we were. We loved our room with a view of the Loch and the property was so tastefully decorated. Our room was cosy, clean and so spacious!!! The host was just the friendliest lady who even found a charging plug for us after we forgot ours.
Booking a slot the night before for breakfast didn't work for us as we didn't fancy setting an alarm on our weekend away from the kids but to be honest it wasn't a huge deal as we found a morrisons cafe and mcdonalds down the road to address that.

Very friendly welcome upon arrival. Although we arrived a bit early, the host welcomed us and checked us in. Location of the guest house is great - right near the river and walking distance (5 mins) from the town centre. Fantastic breakfast service (cooked to order) in lovely room overlooking the river.
Our room was quite small but we knew this upfront and was no issue for us.
