the service from the staff was very welcoming, particularly the waitress that served us in the restaurant, Natasha. she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to help celebrate my girlfriends birthday to the point of giving her a card and singing happy birthday. thank you Natasha :)

February 2025

We spent four nights at Cruachan Hotel, end of February and paid 414£ for a two-single-bed room with a view on the lake (breakfast included). We really enjoyed our stay. The room was large enough with a clean and large shower room. We only would have appreciated to have a lot more hooks for wet towels and coats (which are very probably going to be completely wet in the region after a few hours outside). The restaurant and reception staff were lovely. The breakfast is Scottish traditional (sausage, beans, hash browns, eggs...) although haggis or black pudding would have been appreciated. We had dinner at the restaurant, it was good but not always open.

Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice of cooked items. Room is a good size, however I found it was over-heated for my personal liking. Although located on a main road, the hotel is set back from the road, and all rooms are at the rear and not affected by road noise. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Means of reducing room temperature. Parking on site would probably be inadequate if hotel were close to fully occupied and directions to public parking were not obvious. Being on a hillside means that anyone with walking problems might find it difficult to get from their vehicle to reception.

Overall, the hotel was very nice. We were allocated a lovely room facing the Loch it was very scenic. The rooms were very well equipped with new ensuite furnishings. Nothing was too much trouble, all of the staff are very friendly and polite, there is a Sister hotel very nearby on the same road where we were asked to park our car and this was not a problem as it was a short walk. We had dinner at the bar where they cater for gluten-free vegetarian too, which is another reason why we booked this hotel. Thank you to all members of the staff.

A shirt walk from Fort William’s city center (10 minutes), 3 min drive to the train station. Comfortable, warm (smart heaters with manageable temperature both in the room as well as in the bathroom) Exceptionally clean!! Good breakfast. Enough parking space (+ additional overflow parking lot very close by)

I felt it was funny how the water bottles were only provided to Superior or Deluxe rooms (don’t hold me by the word) but for us, paying 150€ per night, they didn’t want to provide it when kindly asking if there are any (late at night). I thought that was quite rude and unexpected. The lounge area (bar / restaurant) was not very cozy, but some might like that :) we were just used to more warm, cozy hotel lounges around Scotland. But the staff was nice and offer was good, of both food and drinks.

Great location & very friendly / helpful staff. Plenty of parking. The rooms were clean and the buffet breakfast was good. Convenient for walking into town with a good choice of restaurants.

The rooms were a bit small. On first impression the bathroom looked amazing, but the shower was disappointing and the sink ridiculously small - not practical at all. Also the sound proofing was poor - the people in the room next door kept us awake until gone 2.30am just by talking! Reluctantly, for these reasons we would probably not stay again.

The room was clean and comfortable. There was a small desk and room for our bags (including one luggage rack). Hotel staff were friendly and the food in the bar was good. Parking onsite (or just down the road in council car park if hotel car park is full). The included buffet breakfast was also good. Our room looked out across the loch. About 10-15 minute walk to the Main Street shops, restaurants etc.

It was raining and we had a dripping down pipe right outside our window which kept my friend awake most of the night.

The breakfast is nothing short of amazing and everyone on staff treated us like five-star VIPs. The building is beautiful and inside is very well equipped. Everything was in good working order and it's SO quiet!

The bed setup wasn't too my liking; I'm not overly tall at 6' but the bed was too short. I had to pull it away from the wall but then my feet had no blanket. There's an extra blanket, so I used that and it's really no big deal but very weird to encounter a bed and duvet that were both too small for someone of mid height.

Reception staff Karen and her team were lovely. The room and the rest of the hotel were spotlessly clean and in good order. The breakfast was good if a little chaotic. The view from the bar was wonderful. It was a 5 - to 10-minute easy walk to town.

I would have given a 10 / 10 except for the bar stuff on the evening of my husbands birthday, he wouldn't allow us to open a tab or serve us at the table despite offering both to other customers and being fairly quiet. As a special occasion, we booked a deluxe room and paid top money and, quite frankly, would have got better service at witherspoon. We went into town the second night.

Great value off season. Service with a smile. Clean and comfortable. Great shower. Was able to park in their car park which is not always the case during busy times. Buffet breakfast was very good but ( inevitably) some items were hotter than others. One small point: when in-room.coffees and tea bags outnumber the milks you have a choice. I chose to ask reception for more, and they were delivered to order ( and more). Location is excellent, just ten minute walk to shops, restaurants. Stayed once before, will.stay again
