The view, the room (we had the balcony), the staff, the service and the food.

The bathroom, the tap on the sink doesn't allow you to wash without a major mess, the shower was a bit antiquated and the water temp wasn't consistent. I left without taking my medications, which I left in a bedside cabinet, I called as soon as I realised my mistake and was disappointed by the lack of assistance, I explained what I'd done and where the meds would be, I was told they would check and could I call back in 10 mins, I called back, to be put onto someone else who thought I was calling about a booking, then they said, they'd check and call me back, this didn't happen so I called again only to be told no meds had been found! Maybe I expected too much as this was my own fault!

The hotel is really conveniently located just outside Fort William, perfect for going to Glencoe or north to Loch Ness and Inverness. It is modern, clean and really well maintained with modern amenities. Beds were really comfortable and the room was spacious. The staff are extremely friendly and the breakfast buffet was varied and really tasty. The hotel were able to accommodate our request for a toddler bed in the room and breakfast for our child for a very minimal additional cost. The view from our room across the loch was stunning. There are plenty of free car parking spaces in the hotel’s private car park.

Nothing!

When I booked this room, I only looked at the room photos and the fact that it had parking - and of course the rating. I was pleasantly surprised with the lovely view of the loch, friendly staff and very good restaurant. All the Scottish details such as the clan tartan map on the walls were also a lovely touch. We had dinner at the restaurant too and the whisky selection is incredible, along with very good food. All in all a memorable stay.

Staff were very friendly. Room was large, comfortable and had great facilities. The views from both the room and the restaurant were stunning. The breakfast was great with hot food - bacon, sausages and fried tattie scones - as well as plenty of veggie options. The orange juice ran out, when I asked for it to be refilled they did it very promptly with a smile. And they had a nice cat called Archie who can be found in reception.

Some tiny observations that could make it better and would not put me off staying again. Very minor things with the room. There were a couple of spotlights out in the bathroom and the carpet in the room was also looking a little tired. Could also hear the person in the room upstairs sliding drawers open and shut. The music in the hotel bar at night was also a bit on the depressing side, they could have done with something a little more upbeat.

The view was the wow factor...took my breath away. The room was perfect , a nice big bed, just everything you could ask for. The staff were so attentive and friendly, love the fact it is family run and not a franchise.

The only negative for me personally as I have mobility issues was the bath was very low down... I would of like to have bars higher up but it was OK as I was able to use the shower as it had a bar. Not really a dislike , couldn't fault the hotel, just a lovely stay.

The location in the suburbs of Fort William is excellent for exploring Scotland. The check-in process was quick, and the staff was very informative and friendly. There are plenty of parking spots in front of the hotel to leave your car overnight. The view of the loch during breakfast will make your day. Breakfast offers a variety of food and drinks, all tasty, and the staff is friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The additional heater was useful for quickly drying our clothes. The beds were very comfortable, on the firmer side i would say.

the warm food was consistently too cold each day, so it would be good to make some adjustments

Lovely big room with everything you need including comfy bed. Booked room with no view which was good for me as away from the road so bit quieter, due to early start for hiking Ben Nevis, but was able to take my morning brew (tea coffee facilities in room, just took my little thermos cup) across the road and down by the Loch. Lounge, restaurant and bar all have Loch views to enjoy and ample car parking. Only about a mile or so from town high street, which is more then walkable. Relaxed and homely feel to the place. Early start on Saturday morning so out before breakfast started but hotel provided a packed breakfast bag (bottle water, juice carton, fruit, energy/protein bar etc) which was perfect for me. Breakfast on second morning was more than ample, with a mix of cold foods, cereal, yogurt, fruits and hot buffet, eggs, sausage, bacon, haggis, beans etc with toast and tea/coffee to order and plenty juice. Had the dinner specials both nights in the restaurant and really enjoyed them (I can be a bit fussy with my food), and the chocolate tart dessert was well earned after Nevis and made the cold and pain worth it.

Nothing worth noting.

The front bedrooms of the hotel have lovely views across the loch as does the restaurant and some of the reception bar areas. The main road does run in front of the hotel but we didn’t notice any noise at night. Plenty of parking and good WiFi . The hotel team are very friendly, efficient and responsive. The rooms are clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and look like they have recently had a partial re- furbishment. The bed was very comfortable (super-king) and the sheets and towels nice quality and soft. Everything was very clean. The shower over the bath was the best of that kind I think I have ever had in a hotel! We had a small balcony and had a bit of sun on the day we arrived so could enjoy sitting out. The meal in the evening in the restaurant was very good, and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. A great range of whiskies in the bar to sample too! We would definitely use this hotel again and enjoyed our one night stay.

The views from the Coffee room, Restaurant and bar are amazing and the staff will always sit you at a window table if there is one free. The food was amazing and an excellent selection on the menu with a special each night. The bar had an excellent selection especially of gin and whisky. The prices across the hotel for food and drinks are very reasonable and it was great to sit in the evening with drinks and look out at the view. The Room we had was in the lodge with a loch view and was amazing it was so nice to be able to sit outside in the morning or evening and watch the world go back. There was plenty of space in teh car park and I even noticed some charging points for electric cars.

There was nothing I did not like about this booking, everything was great.

Location was great, lovely room and reception staff very helpful. Breakfast was a bit late for me on first morning due to an early morning start but hotel offered a breakfast bag including water, juice, fruit, snack bar etc which was perfect. Breakfast the second morning was a variety of hot and cold options with plenty to fill up on. Great little lounge area looking out over the loch to enjoy a quiet cup of tea after a long day.

Differing styles of restaurant staff. On the first night the staff were ok but on the second I noticed quite a difference. Even just being advised of soup of the day, which was actually lovely, and completely missed the previous evening. Staff waiting at the rear of the dining area but unable to subtly get their attention.
