• We booked a deluxe room (Room 6) and it was surprisingly big with an old-school charm that we actually liked. • Clean, fresh-smelling bedding, comfy beds, large bathroom and shower worked fine. • Room had a fan, big TV, iron and ironing board – even on a hot weekend it stayed nice and cool. • Handy USB ports by the bed. • Parking was easy with plenty of spaces, and check-in was straightforward. • The pub/restaurant on-site was great – we had the mixed grill and lamb curry which were both unbelievable. Football always on, good atmosphere, and the staff were friendly.

• The room wasn’t spotless, though still clean enough. • Only one 3-pin plug socket in the whole bedroom, which was frustrating – I’d recommend bringing a small extension lead. • Breakfast was advertised when we booked but isn’t offered anymore (didn’t bother us too much as there are plenty of local places).

I telephoned a week before our stay because our flight out of Heathrow was cancelled, and the replacement flight was hours earlier. I spoke to a lady and asked if the breakfast included could be changed to a sandwich, as we would be leaving well before breakfast, she said to buy a sandwich to take with us. The curry in the bar was excellent, really tasty, the bar staff was friendly and helpful, the room was lovely but no coffee for the machine, lots of sugar sachets and only 2 coffee and teabags

Take your own tea and coffee if you want to drink in your room as they do not supply hardly anything, except sugar. If you pay for breakfast and your flight is cancelled and made earlier, take a sandwich as they are not very helpful in replacing the breakfast included in the price.

Good location close to the village and shops/cafes and also on a main road giving good access to the area to explore. Easy to find. The lady checking us in also served us at breakfast and was very friendly and helpful

When we arrived early for lunch before checking in we were greeted by a miserable man who immediately said check in is at 3. Luckily his colleague who was far more welcoming confirmed all rooms were ready and gave us our key. The shower was lovely and warm but not very much pressure. It would be nice to have a glass as well as a cup in the room as we like water as well as tea and coffee.

Last minute booking and what a find!!! I arrived at a beautiful old beamed Inn, and was met by friendly and welcoming staff who showed me to my lovely traditional and clean room. I had a wonderful Indian meal and a great night sleep. A huge thank you to all the staff, especially Venus! A wonderful stay and evening. I definitely would recommend both the restaurant and hotel room. Thank you!!! Free parking available at the property.

I loved everything

Comfortable room - good value for money

Despite requesting a room with bath when booking I was initially allocated one with a shower - this was subsequently changed when requested I advised that I would be leaving early morning & confirmed Iwas aware of exit route however when trying to leave exit was not possible due to locked door at bottom of stairs meaning I had to use fire exit door then squeeze past kitchen rubbish bins

Apparently under new management I booked this as my husband is currently in Harefield Hospital. The room is lovely very clean and pretty. The food is excellent I chose the lamb rogan ‘ authentic style’ and it was stunning. The staff have been welcoming and for this lone female customer having a very difficult time they’ve made all the difference. Excellent. Recommend.

I had an impromptu overnight stay. I booked the hotel late Friday evening at 8pm and checked in at 8:30 pm. Check in was a doddle and staff were extremely helpful in directing me to local facilities in the town as I arrived too late to take of dining in the restaurant. The superior deluxe double room I stayed in was extremely well appointed and made for a much needed relaxing and comfortable night stop. I awoke in the morning fully refreshed and rested and after a delicious breakfast I was set up to continue on my way.

Easy to find and free parking with accommodation, friendly staff who explained how things worked.

Only nespresso machines in room to use as there was no instant coffee available, as only there for one night it wasn’t too much of a problem but I’m sure the staff would have rectified this if asked had we being there longer.

Lovely traditional pub. Great to stay in somewhere with character (eg original beams in the bedroom). And the staff were super-friendly and helpful.

Breakfast wasn’t provided-but it was very easy to pop out to M&S or Tesco (both a couple of minutes walk) for something. I used the kettle on my room to make instant porridge.

Nice Old character property with a great bar. Didn't eat there but the food smelled excellent (Indian restaurant).

Room 2 has the pub sign outside and was squeaking in the wind and kept waking me up, so get some oil on it. There was also no WiFi in the rooms, so I couldn't do any work upstairs.
