Our room was on the smaller side (compared to our son's room) but perfectly adequate for what we needed. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were close to the main road, but this was not a problem and we were unaware of any traffic noise. Breakfast was delicious and plenty-full. It was a warm day and evening during our stay, but there was a fan provided which was all we needed. One of our sons left his apple phone charger in the room. My phone call was returned within the hour with the news that it had been found and for a small P&P fee it is being returned.

Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again.

the hotel is set in beautiful countryside, the staff were warm and welcoming and very helpful. I arrived over an hour before the check in time but they made sure my room was the next one cleaned so I could access the room early. the room was spotlessly clean and very well equipped, I like the fact there was bottled water and a pack of biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities. The room was chilly when I entered but fortunately there was a handbook explaining absolutely everything about the room, I was then able to turn on the radiator and the room warmed up nicely. I slept really well, the shower was absolutely fantastic and there were free toilitries availble.

I cannot think of anything that could have been improved.

Nice and large room with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Good and cozy beds. The hotel has many facilities. The Lamb Shank in the restaurant was the best lamb I have ever had! 👍

Ordered a glass of white wine, was room temperature. There are no children meny or child friendly on the meny. My son (10 years old) ordered a burger only with bread, meat and cheese… Comes with fries. He did not eat the fries as they were soaked in old frying oil and tasted like that. Even the waiter said they were not good. But still we were charged £15.20 for a “child burger” with uneatable fries 🥹 There is a 10% service charge on the bill (£ 5,09 in our case) I almost always give tips, but I dislike its already been put on the bill and I would not have given it if I had seen it was already added.

The bathroom in the chalet room was lovely . We particularly liked ressi who was out of her depth on the bar . She explained is wasn’t her usual job but felt so sorry for her , she didn’t even get shown what a Prosecco glass was or how to use the till but her personality more that made up for it . Well done ressi . Comfortable beds .

No hash browns , tomatoes or fried egg The scrambled egg was grey and overcooked even though the chef came out to check he didn’t replace but we were probably the last two tables for breakfast . Really nice sausages though and a great chap who explained how the breakfast buffet all worked .

The hotel is a in a good location as a way stop and only 2 minutes walk from the drive of The Oaksmere Hotel where we were having dinner with friends. We had booked one of the larger rooms with balcony in the main building, so not able to comment of the standard rooms laid out 'Motel like' around the main reception building. The staff were very friendly and the bar was comfortable.

Ashtrays on the balcony had not been cleaned and the hotel fittings in the more modern main building are looking a little tired. Some maintenance required that is easier on the eye.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable.

Felt sorry for restaurant staff. Seemed understaffed, and rushing around . They never stopped being polite and putting a smile on their faces even though they were under a lot of pressure. Great Western should be proud of them, most are students working long hours hopefully they get well rewarded.

Hotel was comfortable & had a spa & other extras (didn't have time to use them) We booked last minute as our original overnight booking had fallen through. Young man who came to let us in at 11.30pm was helpful & polite. He got us a room key & showed us how to find the room

The shower was dangerous as it only ran hot, as the button to control the temperature was missing/broken - it was broken before we arrived obviously. Excrement in the bathroom on arrival - room obviously hasn't been checked/cleaned. The skylight window was dirty & didn't open

The breakfast was fabulous, the scrambled egg was exceptionally good. We could choose whatever type of breakfast we fancied, and plenty of it. Anything not readily available was cooked and served in a very short space of time. The staff and management were on hand to make sure everything was running smoothly and keen to make sure we were happy with things.

The entry was a little rough going over a few bumps, but all was fine thereafter.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very comfortable and clean. The only criticism I have is the evening meals don't match the standards of the rest of the hotel. Breakfast is very good, although I didn't try the cooked breakfast as I didn't have time to sample it Overall I recommend it for a comfortable stay

Evening meals were below the standard I expected, considering the high standards of the rest of the establishment. The menu is limited and not very appetising, especially the deserts

We were met in the car park by the manager who made us feel welcome and valued as a customer. He insisted on carrying our bag to our room and did everything he could to satisfy our needs. The breakfast staff were outstanding, attentive, efficient, polite and genuinely eager to please. The hot food was cooked to order which is a pleasant change from the usual precooked offering in many hotels. The bedroom was very large, good facilities and clean. The hotel had a health spa which although we didn't use we did look around and it was very well fitted out, we would definitely make use of this on our next visit.

Being told the chef had phoned in sick and no evening meals would be available, after a 10 hour journey this wasn't ideal. Paper cups in the bedroom instead of ceramic cups/mugs. The manager did find us some cups on request, but we shouldn't have had to ask. A minor niggle but on both of the days we stayed we were left complimentary packets of biscuits in our room, a nice touch but both days they were just broken crumbs, we felt this just by picking them up surely the room maids must have know too, as I said a minor niggle but it's the attention to detail to the little things that make a good hotel.
