The hotel was lovely, it was clean and tidy and served our purpose well. The Staff were very polite and helpful. It had character. Our room had low ceilings and crooked floor boards, it was a lovely warm,cozy feeling room.

The check in was a computer, I struggled to find my booking. One of the ladies behind the bar was on hand happy to help thankfully. Very low ceilings and steep stairs (this is because i am tall, it's not necessarily a negative as it gave the hotel a lovely feeling and gave it a lovely character. Its more an FYI for tall people).

A very warm and friendly welcome from a lovely lady on reception. A warm and cosy room which had all the essentials. Sweets were a nice added touch. Breakfast was lovely, and serving staff were amazing, Hannah is a credit to the team!

There was an issue with the key card for the "old" front door. Being a smoker I stepped out after reception had been locked up for the night, and when trying to regain entry through the door I was directed to use, the key card wouldn't scan and I couldn't get back in. Luckily I had taken my phone and was able to call my partner to open the door, but had I been on my own or not taken my phone, this would have resulted in me being locked out for however long before the night manager would have returned to reception and found me waiting at the main door

Very spacious room in the annexe with an extra bedroom for the kids! Plenty of toiletries and little extras! Beds very comfy and clean. Very dog friendly and breakfast was fresh and plentiful with lots of choice! Would definitely stay again and hope to next year.

Not much really! teeny tiny complaint was that none of the wall lights worked and so it was quite dim with there only being a small window. We couldn’t watch the tv as the Wi-Fi was playing up I think, and the lamp in the kids room got worryingly hot when on for a short time.

I feel that I got exactly what I had booked for and expected. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel basically clean and comfortable. Very convenient for the reason for my stay at Diss - travel by train and visiting Bressingham for a special event there.

Automated check-in system very confusing. Had to seek help to check in; staff seemed to be hard pressed and short staffed (but when I found someone, she was very helpful). Small shortcomings in maintenance, e.g. room light not working etc but no major problems.

Warm and comfortable room. Excellent shower and liked the complimentary toiletries and refreshment. Breakfast was excellent with a varied menu to suit all appetites. Dinner was a good choice too though nothing special. Staff were very helpful at all time and were always cheerful.

29 was one of their new rooms and could have benefited from a 'snag' inspection as the tap over the sink had a wobble. Fire exit light to big for a bedroom and the bed lights were to far away from the queen size bed. I had to get out of bed to switch on and off. The carpet had some paint on it by the door Rusty line down the radiator. Just silly things that could be fixed with a bit of attention to detail from a senior manager.

We stayed in room 12 which was on the ground floor at the back of the main Hotel, it was very quiet and had doors out to a patio area, when we arrived we were able to view an alternative room and chose if we wanted which was good. The room had all the usual features and was large enough for 2 good sized chairs to sit in. We had breakfast in the hotel and this was well served, restaurant was clean and comfortable, all the food was hot and we were able to make changes to the set menu without additional cost.

We did not find out until check-in that the restaurant would be closed in the evening due to a large party booking, this did not directly affect us as we already had plans but it may be helpful if this was emailed from the hotel prior to arrival to allow alternative arrangements be made, there are a number of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel. The bathroom could do with some limescale remover around the shower and taps as this is a hard water area and there was some build-up.

Pleasant, newly finished room. Not huge but comfortable. Pocket sprung bed provided a sound night's sleep. Well lit, modern bathroom with excellent shower. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Friendly helpful staff. who addressed our small niggles effectively and pleasantly. Diss Mere and park are less than 5 minutes' walk down the road and across the park. It's a lovely lake!

The website gives the wrong address for visiting purposes, so you turn up at 29 Denmark Street where there is only a rather shabby entrance door and no parking. Just round the corner, on Park Road, is the main entrance and large car park! Some of the doors, eg to ladies' loos, look really grubby with handprints. We found this quite off-putting.

The room was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. It had TV and Wi-Fi. It was in a convenient position central to the places I wanted to go. There was good variety in the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was available for an extra amount.

Apparently there were some rooms on the ground floor. I climbed several flights of stairs to get to my room.

I had another pleasant stay. A lot of parking space available and central location for anyone visiting or working in this area of Norfolk. Very clean corridor with new carpet and overall well maintained section of the hotel. I understand that there is another section of the hotel which is still being updated. However, all internal areas seen were very clean. Comfortable bed and temperature with reliable heating/AC. Enjoyed the shower and bathroom was generally very clean. The Internet worked really well throughout. I didn’t order food or drinks hence unable to comment on this.

Exterior of the hotel via the car park including entrance door could do with some attention even if it's just initial tidying to improve overall ambience for guest experience. Toilet seat covers will benefit from regular checking knowing that they are not exact fits. However, none of this was enough to dampen the enjoyment of my stay.

The hotel, in general, was dated, nevertheless the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and allowed us to store our bicycles indoors (we travelled there by bike as part of a cycle tour) which was very important to us. We were able to eat in the restaurant despite there being some problem in the kitchen with the oven.

The shower was impossible to turn on - the tap was completely seized.
