First visit to this charming Herefordshire town and pleased to discover the Talbot has a rich history of "welcoming guests for over 400 years". The rooms in the old part are therefore full of character and somewhat higgledy piggledy but comfortable. Ours (#1) was up a short flight of stairs immediately to the right of the main entrance. They have newer rooms in an extension at the back of the hotel. The Oak Dining room is very special where breakfast is served. Everyone we met on the staff was helpful and friendly and full of useful information about the hotel and the town. The bar and lounge is cosy and welcoming and there is further seating outside towards the rear of the hotel. It is more or less next door to its fancier neighbour, The Feathers, and a short walk round a couple of corners to the all day parking. The High Street and Homend are full of independent shops with historic Church Street right behind the famous Market House and home to the Heritage House and Malthouse as well as Tourist Information. We had a wonderful 2 nights stay with opportunity to explore Great Malvern just 9 miles away and Hereford 16 miles to the West. Great value for money.
New Street is one way and therefore you can't turn left towards the Talbot from the main road into Ledbury. If you don't mind a short walk, go straight to the parking first left behind St Katherine's immediately after the Feathers.

The first day excellent - Helen was very attentive and an excellent hostess. The food was excellent. My Son and Granddaughter arrived to pick me up and Helen offered them something to eat and drink. Louise (6) accepted with a very happy smile and had some toast and strawberry jam and juice! A really nice gesture fromHelen
On the second day Helen was away. Had told.me the day before. I came down to breakfast- nobody around. Cleaning lady had to search for someone.. no table prepared. The man in charge finally came and told me he'd been told.by a colleague I wasn't having breakfast - strange and not true. Was a sad situation because I wanted a lovely calm breakfast like the day before and this was anything but.

Loved the history and the fact that it maintained that feel instead of having been over-renovated. Bits of it were tired but the bedroom was spotless and bathroom had a big tub. Also delighted to find a very efficient fan in the room, as it would have been way too hot otherwise. Staff were friendly and cooked breakfast was well made and served fast. Dog was welcomed. Would choose this every time over the fancier Feathers around the corner - that had quite a corporate feel inside. This was creaky but cosy, and modern only where it mattered.
I liked all of it.

We stayed at the Talbot for 3 nights for a friends wedding in the local area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The town and building are bustling with history, the Talbot is a VERY old building (1596? I think) but they have done a lovely job keeping it intact. The rooms are lovingly decorated with modern furnishings but still keep some of the charm of the old building, the dining room for breakfast has the original wood panelling from the 1600s which is delightful. The staff were incredibly accommodating for us as we arrived to Ledbury VERY late Friday night and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.
My single, and only complaint was the bathroom in our room was just a smidge too small but perfectly still usable! I am a slightly larger gent. I would say if you wear a XXL usually, you'll have a fine but snug time. I would recommend regardless because you can easily still use the facilities in the rooms, but if you're tall you are going to hit your head too! People in 1600 were only about 5'8" and their buildings reflect that

A very friendly pub and hotel. Staff were most helpful. Unsurpisingly for a 300+ year old building there are a lot of low ceilings and uneven floors but they are all part of the character of the Talbot. Very comfortable room and bathroom. Bar staff were freindly and a good range of beers and ciders on offer. Good breakfast in the morning.
We were lucky to find a parking place right outside the front door but it would have been a bit of a hike to the public car park nearby. This is not a poor reflection on the Talbot - Ledbury is a very old town and it wasn't designed for cars.

The Talbot is a charming 16th century inn. Our room was in the courtyard and was lovely- spacious, clean and quiet, comfy bed, generous hospitality tray. The breakfast was amazing- cooked to order with lashings of tea/ coffee. The duty manager (Tom) was so welcoming. He even phoned us on the morning of our stay because of the storms to say not to worry if we could not travel, they would cancel with no penalty. How great is that? Needless to say, we did not need to cancel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Nothing!

The room was large and very comfortable. The manager was lovely. Very hard working. The meal in the bar was very nice with efficient and friendly service and excellent beers. A very pleasant one night stay to visit RHS Malvern. Very good breakfast cooked to order.
On site parking would be nice but not possible given the layout of the town and the hotels very central location. Overnight parking about 7 minutes walk away although I think there are closer options

Staff, particularly Helen (and Dolly the Cockapoo) were very welcoming. We had a bar meal in the evening which was great and had a good breakfast before departing for RHS Malvern. The hotel location is excellent, with 24hr parking a very short, level walk away (£7/24 hrs).
Could have done with a shower gel in the room, shampoo & conditioner, and lotion were provided. The room was clean and tidy, if you’re looking for immersive luxury this probably isn’t for you as the room is a tiny bit tired, but then the whole place is 400-500 years old, and steeped in history, so we can forgive a few bumps and scrapes.

Wonderful friendly & helpful staff. We ate dinners at the hotel & were all happy with our choices.. At breakfast I asked if eggs benedict could be adapted [as I`m not keen on eggs but love the sauce] nothing was too much trouble & I ate bacon & spinach mornay.......it was presented like a work of art & tasted delicious! The hotel provided historic references to the hotels history, thus adding interest!

It is rustic and a very old building. It was great to stay in a place of historic value. The service and food were really good. The staff were accomodating. It was central to the town, which was also lovely. It's dog friendly, which is a great plus! We would definitely stay again and recommend if you appreciate an old building, that's quirky!
The pillows were too hard, and that was all I could fault. Just having an alternative pillow left in the wardrobe would have been good.
