We (3 adults) stayed one night at Melin Tregib. Easy self-check-in. Our room was huge incl a sofa, the beds are very comfortable and there is a nice view into the green surroundings. Everything spotlessly clean ! There is parking on site. Breakfast was self-service in a nice kitchen area. Basic (toast, prepacked croissants, joghurts and fresh orange juice, butter and jam - some cereals and oats. Thanks to the previous reviews we knew what to expect so it suited us well for that night.

Outdoor area (and so first impression) could be easily improved by a bit more care for detail. It is not the typical cosy B&B with meet&greet of the host which felt strange at times, very basic decoration, no toiletries in the bathroom. But I guess this is what keeps the room price relatively low - for us it was absolutely acceptable.

What a gorgeous place! It's very well organised, from check-in key collection, to the help-yourself breakfast in the well-equipped main kitchen downstairs. We stayed during a heatwave and those thick Welsh stone walls meant we were cool and comfortable, while it was blazing outside, and lovely to have the fridge in the room too. Very comfortable beds. Atmospheric view over the (quiet) road, to countryside & a distant railway bridge. We had an exceptional meal in the friendly The 3 Chefs, a 7 min walk away, so everything we needed really. Thank you so much.

We liked the simple check in and breakfast set up, but others may prefer a more personal touch by meeting the owners? We couldn't fault it though.

An absolutely brilliant stay, the host sent us details and directions in advance, plus upgraded us which was such a lovely surprise for our 1 year wedding anniversary! The room was spacious and had a living area so we were delighted. Our little dog was welcome. Everything was spotlessly clean: the bedding, bathroom, sinks, kitchen, carpets etc. The room was airy but still a good temperature, the shower was excellent. The breakfast was kind of like what you'd have at home: toast, Jams, pastries, cereals, yoghurts - nothing super special but functional and nicely laid out downstairs. There's a restaurant nearby (The 3 Chefs) which does such great reasonably priced food that we went there two nights in a row!

Everything was great.

Lovely location, clean and well kept. Comfy beds, good, clean shower, and nice view. Good communication from the owner, giving us directions a few days before and the key code the night before. No reception, but this wasn't an issue at all.

Breakfast was a sort of buffet - there was food on the table in the kitchen, but there was no direction or signage as to whether it was actually for us or not. We assumed this was the case! You seemingly had to cook your own if you wanted anything hot, we weren't really sure if that was okay so we stuck with cereal and croissants. The food we had was good quality and plentiful. Not really sure it can be classified as a "continental breakfast provided" when you have to cook your own, but not a huge issue. There was no guidance on parking either - we parked on the wide pavement outside as there were already two cars in the gateway and one alongside. No issue though.

Good location for us, as we wanted something in west Brecon area; close to Carreg Cennen Castle and Dryswlyn Castle which are definitely worth seeing. National showcaves are fairly close too which are great. Room was nice and big, bed comfortable, beautiful building, nice breakfast inc. use.of a large kitchen (so you can make yourself a cooked breakfast, if you have the ingredients).

Nothing except there was a strong "country" smell from outside - but that's nothing the property can do about and I guess it's only certain times of year.

Location was walking distance to both Llandeilo and Ffarfach. Beds very comfortable and the large room with couch was comfortable for two people for a 4-day stay. We never saw any staff, but food was out for self-serve breakfast. Attractive breakfast room.

Things that could be improved to make the stay even better: More coffee options--beyond one single serve French press--would be nice. (We're American and look for coffee--not instant!--rather than tea.) Bathroom needs more hooks for hanging up clothes, and towel bars for hanging towels. Even with the heated towel bar (on early in the morning) towels rarely dried completely. Toiletries (body wash, shampoo) in the shower would be nice. We did find shampoo on a table in the hall, but better to have in the room, and not worry about who else might be wanting it.

Great location for us, not long into town where there are lots of lovely shops, cafes, restaurants etc. Continental breakfast was great, in a lovely large space too. Coffee, juice, tea. Lots of different cereals, brioche rolls, crossiants, yogurts etc. Lots of choice. We had the family suite room. Lovely large space. We used it as a sleeping ground to explore the brecon beacons.

Nothing we didn't like at all. The only thing I would say is the mattress dumped in the garden took away from fully enjoying the lovely garden space.

We found the accomodation met all our expectation, we slept comfortably and enjoyed the breakfast and facilities on offer. It's a beautiful location and building and we felt right at home. Would stay again.

It would have been nice to have a bit more communication from the owners - just little thing to make us feel welcome along with some instructions on the facilities on offer. For example, we parked in the drive, but weren't sure if we could, nor if other guest would block our car.

It was really clean and tidy, with the homely feeling of a proper country style stay. It is in a quiet scenic spot, within a good walking distance to town. The host was good, very responsive and provided detailed directions and instructions.

The property was good, however there were some noise from the room next door but it is expected from this type of building so no major issue and by all means did not impact our overall stay and enjoyment.

A great apartment in a nice old house on the edge of the village, Melin Tregyb is within 10 minutes walk of two good pubs, a bus route and a halt on the Heart of Wales railway. It's pretty close to Llandeilo, too. With a nice mix of older and newer furnishings, good sized room and pleasant bathroom, it was a good place for our one night stay, and would be good for longer, too. A nice self service continental breakfast was included, which was very welcome. We think it was good value for money, too.
