The on-site parking was useful. Mark and Karen were very welcoming on arrival and I was shown to my room which was beautifully furnished with a good array of tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk. Bottled water by the bed and fresh chocolates. The immaculately clean bathroom had Clarins products - very high class. The shower was good. Breakfast was freshly made to order. Good choices and tasty! The downstairs sitting room was very comfortably appointed with a fabulous well stocked honesty bar. There were also complimentary sweet treats - homemade flap jack, cookies and chocolate brownies, with a Nespresso coffee machine.

Too much to like so this stood out for us - Attention to detail, the warming welcome, the decor, the cleanliness, the chocolates in the room, the breakfast with home made hash browns, the fresh yellow roses on the breakfast table, the choice of breakfast, the white fresh cotton bedding, the smartly dressed host, the homely feel

Nothing to dislike, I get warm at night and the window was open it was a warm one. I could have asked for a fan though unless one was in the room and I didn’t look properly :-)

Amazing food and coffee. Lovely decor. Lovely little touches like chocolates in the room. Fresh milk in the fridge near the room for teas and coffees. Great array of teas coffees. Catering for different dietry requirements. Toiletries and bathrobes Great facilities. Friendly atmosphere. Well thought out layout. The owners had great knowledge of the area for walks, site seeing, local food and pubs, etc.

There was nothing I would change. Just a tiny little heads up. The jackdaws that roost near to the b&b are a bit noisy in the morning 🤣

We arrived a little earlier than we had planned but Mark was there to greet us and showed us to our room which was spacious, bed very comfortable and bathroom with rainfall shower. Breakfast with fruit juice, cereals and then an appetising range of cooked offerings (great work by Karen in the kitchen) was lovely and Mark was there to give recommendations for things to do in the area for the day ahead. The stay was to celebrate retirement and a big birthday and didn't disappoint - many thanks to Mark and Karen for all their hospitality.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of this historic inn. The rooms are a delightful blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. We stayed in the "Lady of the Lake" room, which was tastefully decorated with elegant furnishings and thoughtful touches that made our stay incredibly comfortable. A wide array of ground coffee bags and teas were provided, with fresh milk and water available in a fridge located in the corridor. Prior to our arrival, Mark checked our dietary requirements and made sure we had plant-based milk, which was thoughtfully labeled in little glass bottles in the fridge for "Lady of the Lake." Mark and Karen truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations or assist with any needs. Their genuine hospitality added a personal touch to our visit. The breakfasts were a highlight of our stay, with a wide selection on offer, including pastries, delicious granola with yogurt, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, avocado toast, and of course, a full English breakfast. Not only were the dishes cooked to perfection, but the quality of the ingredients really stood out—locally sourced wherever possible. It was definitely the best breakfast I've ever had at any guesthouse. Another absolute highlight was the cakes that appeared daily in the downstairs bar area, which we definitely took advantage of! There is also an honesty bar where you can help yourself to alcohol and spirits, simply noting down what you had. Location-wise, Llandovery is a picturesque town, and the inn’s location is perfect for exploring the area. Whether you're interested in hiking, visiting historic sites, or simply enjoying the charm of a Welsh market town, the inn serves as an ideal base. Overall, our stay at The New White Lion Inn was exceptional.

The rain! We were unlucky with the weather on one of our days but we made the most of it by doing a guided tour we found in the information pack that was in the room. Having such a lovely room to relax in was a definite bonus.

The Inn is gorgeous, and bright inside. Rooms are beautifully appointed, clean and quiet. Location could not be better for walking around and exploring Llandovery, or to head out more into the adventures Wales holds. Karen and Mark have created a lovely space, and the food is the best I’ve had in my 6 week UK travels, and perhaps you’ll also sit in the spot King Charles occupied on one of his visits to Llandovery. There just isn’t a more romantic, curated stay I could imagine, The New White Lion is a true highlight.

If I was to list a complaint, it would be completely unhelpful to fellow travelers and explorers. This place is special, it has a great vibe.

This place is lovely! The owners were very welcoming and accommodating during our stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel was quiet so they upgraded our room free of charge upon arrival. The room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, lovely fresh produce. My partner doesn't drink milk so they provided a dairy free alternative too without us prewarning them. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the area.

Mark and Karen were most welcoming and ensured we had all we needed. Our room, along with the rest of the property was very comfortable but also stylishly furnished and decorated in furnishings which totally suited the age of the house, yet made us feel at home.. The breakfast couldn't have been better, all home produce and freshly made. The fluffy towels in the en suite and the robes provided were a welcome touch as was the fresh milk for the room.. The little treat of hand made chocolates left in our room was also an added luxury. Location was great as close to places to eat and little shops plus parking available at the back.

Nothing really, except that the en suite was quite a tight spot but is often the case in old properties where they have been added.Oh and the twisty stairs were a bit dodgy to negotiate if any mobility issues

Exceptional home from home BnB - top quality bed and furnishings, food, refreshments, bar, and lovely owners, Mark and Karen, go above and beyond. Very knowledgeable about the area and took us to the amazing local hidden gem dam and nature reserve, booked us into pubs for dinner, provided audio maps, etc. They are friendly, attentive hosts whilst also letting you enjoy your own space and quiet. Wonderful stay. 10/10

Very warm welcome from our hosts, Karen and Mark who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Our bedroom was stylish and comfortable and some sweet treats were a lovely surprise. The large and very comfortable guest lounge was another pleasant surprise. Excellent breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of choice. All in all, our stay was everything we could have hoped for.
