Strong heritage with the age of the Inn. Freedom to come and go throughout the duration of the stay, even at night time. The staff were lovely, very welcoming! The location was stunning both the countryside and the village - the car park across the way was secure enough to lock up 5 motorbikes worth over £50k with absolutely no bother too!

The furnishing was a bit dated with a few things broken, but the general age and look did fit the inn well - it would probably look unusual with brand new modern furnishings.

Excellent location at the heart of Llandovery. Reasonable room prices. We used public parking which is literally opposite the road and it was very cheap. Good comfortable stay and sleep. Helpful staffs. The pub offers good food. Overall relaxing and happy stay.

Stairs didn't bother us all. But would definitely cause problems to elderly or people with mobility issues. The bathroom has a macerator which is noisy. The shower cubicle was good, but the toilet was small.

The building is all wonky and characterful and the room we stayed in was exactly the same. It was perfect for a couple of nights. The pub was lovely and served delicious food and the staff were brilliant.

Not a dislike but they don't do breakfast - the staff recommended a cafe on the other side of the road and that was absolutely delicious. The shower cubicle could do with a spruce up on the sealant, but other than that, a fab stay.

It's a lovely listed building, with the quirks that come from being so old, narrow staircase etc. Food was excellent and staff were incredibly friendly. Look forward to staying again.

It's right in the centre of town, and it was a very busy weekend, so a bit noisy. Nothing they can do about that, and we were expecting it.

We went to the Bear Inn primarily for the food. We wanted to stay somewhere that served good vegan food and lots of choice. We were not disappointed. There were many dishes to choose from as well as good vegan wine choices and knowledgeable staff. Being a pub on a busy road, you wouldn't expect it to be luxurious or quiet at night. However, visiting just after the Llandovery in Bloom competition, it did look very pretty.

The pub is quirky and full of charm, great food and drinks options, the room was spacious and had comfortable beds and a clean bathroom, everything worked well and we had all we needed. A special mention must go to Alex who despite being busy with pub customers went the extra mile to help me out with some laundry and a drying rack and was good humoured and a great ambassador for the Bear Inn!

The only minor issue was the road noise, not a lot that can be done about it but as it was a hot night we had the windows open and the blinds banged against the window frame every time a car or lorry drove past the building. Maybe some softer fabric window covers would help to absorb more exterior sound and not bang so much.

Awesome loft room with exposed beams, lots of character, comfy bed. Separate generous bathroom. Just need to be careful with door heights if you are tall since this is an old old building, so you could bump your head.

shower kept dripping, soap dispensers needed refilling (really tiny niggles). The Bear Inn does not provide beakfast.

Room had lots of character (as did the rest of the Inn) with everything needed provided. Staff were friendly and restaurant was excellent.

Would have been great if the restaurant could be open for breakfast (although the cafe over the road was excellent). Room got very bright sun early in morning - a blackout blind would be very useful.

Staff were amazing! Lovely, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Food was great, this was particularly appreciated as the team cater for vegans, and gluten free vegans at that, as standard. Millionaires shortbread was fabulous.

We stayed for 3nights we had the room with 3 separatebeds., Food and drinks were good. Good beds. Had a very nice stay. Very friendly! There is also a fantastic bakery down the street! For breakfest you can go to the Tudor place or the breakfastplace down the road.

We parked the car on the local parking. It is payed for 8am till 6pm. So every morning i would get up at 7am and pay for 4h. But it was 1,7pounds, not expensive.
