Did you know Lord Nelson stayed at the hotel on the night of Friday 28th July 1802? He stopped while traveling from London to the estates of Sir William & Lady Hamilton in Milford Haven. Our Lord Nelson Suite is our largest room in the hotel, located on the 1st floor on the front of the hotel. This huge individually designed room with the antique four-poster bed has plenty of space with a large bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower.

Great value for money, room was great and spotlessly clean , well done to the housekeeping staff, it had everything we needed, food was delicious both the 2 for £10 menu and breakfast were fabulous, thank you to the chefs, plenty of choice available on both menu's.

Our waitress made a mistake with our order but this was resolved quickly by Adam. Both barmaids need to up their game with their appearance, uniforms un-ironed and full of fluff, and one just looked as if she needed to wash her hair and generally take more care with her appearance and also her attitude to the customers and to the rest of the team, breakfast staff waitress and Adam were immaculately turned out, both very smartly dressed.

very friendly staff on checking in showed us our rooms an explained the times meals were served during our stay .breakfast was good and fast service if you ordered a cooked breakfast with enough choice in the continental as well .

evening meal a bit disappointing as one of the traveling party asked the staff serving that night Sunday if the Curry was hot and they replied no mild it was not mild belive you me and another disappointment when I went to the bar to fetch more drinks one staff member was on the phone fair enough dealing with a customer but the other staff member saw me coming walked away and ignored me and was texting on her phone got served by the other person in the end .

The hotel is a very good size. They offer breakfast for guests and have meals available for lunch and dinner. We stayed for dinner one night and found the food very nice and the price quite decent. There is a nice variety for breakfast, you could have continental or cooked with a nice selection of cooked food. Our room was an accessible room. Much less fancy but a shower that I could use and far fewer steps. The hotel apparently has 4 floors with rooms. The staff are friendly and happy to help.

The only thing I could say we didn't like was the vibration in our room. There is some sort of machinery that runs all the time below the room. We had to move a few things around to stop them from rattling at night so we could sleep. They staff were informed and quite appologetic but not sure if the issue was looked at. The radiator in the shower room was on all the time but if we kept the door shut it did not make the room uncomfortable.

Comfortable and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Room was clean and comfortable with handy toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Great food. My 18 year old daughter really wanted the pasta from the child’s menu so they done her an adult portion. On the second night, we were so tired from our hike and asked if we could order dinner to our room at reception, they brought it to our room. The bar and restaurant were comfortably busy, lots going on but not overly noisy and our room was quiet. There’s a handy little shop next door too.

Nothing negative to say at all.

Convenient location and good parking facilities. My room was a good size and well appointed but could do with some minor updating as could the ensuite. The room was immaculately clean. The food was excellent and drinks quite reasonably priced. Staff were friendly, chatty and helpful which is a must when one is a solo traveller, it makes a huge difference to the stay. The only sight issue was there would usually be some kind of information in the room regarding menus, check out times and breakfast times etc. Notwithstanding this I'd definitely stay again, I was made to feel very welcome and had an enjoyable stay.

All the staff are friendly. The rooms had been updated since the last time we stayed, actually the whole hotel has been updated. Food was 💯 fantastic 😋 👌. Nathan was absolutely fantastic with us four and our demands of spiced rum , he was a highly recommended server , our best staff all weekend . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all the staff they are all brilliant 👏. Would 100% definitely go back and stay there . The Castle Hotel is still our favourite place to stay.

Not enough milk satchets in room and forgot to ask staff for more. The only thing is to sell Barti spiced rum. Or Bumbu spiced rum. Otherwise nothing else.

Hotel is in a great location in centre of the town. Very welcoming friendly staff. Clean, tastefully decorated room with comfortable bed. Very good breakfast.

Although room was a great size (room 6) it lacked a small chest of drawers for unpacked clothes. There was a corner desk with only three small drawers in it which unpacked clothes could hardly fit into. As the room has sloped beamed ceilings it may be difficult to fit a wardrobe in, but there was no coat rail, or pegs which we could hang coats or clothes on coat hangers on so had to lay all our clothes out on the desk or sofa. Yet it was a beautiful room so just needs somewhere to put clothes!

staff friendly, nice clean bar area, young lady on shift that afternoon, kindly made me 2 pots of tea as i was cold from touring on a motorbike, book in system easy, great communication, easy to park. nothing too much trouble

menu not brilliant for a hotel @ the prices they are charging, not really much veggie choice or even healthy salad choice, so we ate at the local hotel around the corner, i feel its a missed oportunity for them!not everyone whats chips & fired food

Room was large and spacious, the view was onto a rooftop but wasn't an issue. Had a bath in the room which was lovely. I booked an economy double room but had 2 large but comfy single beds. Room was neat and tidy. Breakfast was great, lovely selection of bread, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals for continental. The cooked options were good too. I had 2 lovely runny poached eggs on brown toast, couldn't fault it. Fantastic old building with lovely history and lots of character. Lovely attentive staff made the stay better. Thank you Castle Hotel, see you soon!

The only thing I did notice was there were a lot of coffee sachets, locally sourced, but only 2 teabags (also locally sourced), as I'm a tea drinker would have been nice to have an equal amount of teabags to coffee. Staying alone in my room, it would have been nice to have more secure windows, as the ones in my room weren't double glazed, some sort of security stay/lock would be appreciated.

We were given a warm welcome and the lady at reception kindly took our luggage for us as we were taken to our room. The dinner was fine, with a good range of choices, though the two very helpful ladies working at the bar and also serving food at the tables were very hard pressed on a busy evening. Breakfast choices were good though the one lady tending to busy tables and serving good food was rather overstretched but very courteous. All in all v good.

Not much can be done about the fact that our bedroom, 11, was so high up the hotel that we struggled as 80 year olds to manage the many flights of stairs and fire doors we needed. But the room was warm, well equipped, and comfortable. In future we would try to book a more accessible room.
