Beautiful room, huge and very tastefully decorated with plenty of original features. Loved the original windows and fireplaces. Lovely design with the roll-top bath behind the bed with a separate shower room. Robes and slippers were a lovely touch. Very nice breakfast, great quality. Wish we could've stayed longer!

4am wake up call from the bin men emptying the bottle bank - but that's not the venue's fault. I'd suggest refillable hand-wash and shampoo dispensers, rather than the little bottles. But no complaint - was nice to have the toiletries supplied.

We really liked the neighborhood. Everyone was very friendly. It was out of the hustle and bustle of center London, which was on of our goals staying there. The pub was a great local pub, the room clean and comfortable and the food was great. We loved the local neighborhood feel with a big park, great restaurants, bakeries and close proximity to the train . You need to be prepared to commute 20-30 minutes to center city London but it was easy.

Very little we didn’t like. Be prepared to walk a few flights to your room. No lift, typical of historic old buildings in GB. Not a fancy hotel at all but lots of character.

Comfortable, character hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for us visiting our daughter . Nice safe area and near to station for easy access to Kings Cross. Very comfortable bed, room very clean (respect to housekeeping staff) . Fridge with fresh milk , water and beer. Good quality tea, coffee and chocolate on hospitality tray. Nice toiletries. Above a lively, popular pub/kitchen, but that didn’t disturb us. Very good breakfast included in room rate and served in pub dining room. All in all an excellent stay and we will definitely be back.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Hotel staff were very helpful, observant and friendly. The room was very comfortable, clean and peaceful. Great facilities, tea and coffee etc… and the breakfast choices were plentiful with customisations available as an option if required. Easy to get to train station and a 10min train journey into London Vic and from there easy to get to anywhere. Good coffee houses and restaurants around the local area.

The bar staff working in the pub downstairs weren’t particularly helpful when we wanted to order food / drinks to take to our room.

Beautiful building, very comfortable spacious clean room with everything we needed, lots of complimentary higher end tea tray offerings & coffee machine. Lovely toiletries & robes/slippers in bathroom. Beds were very comfortable & had really good sleep. Breakfast was delicious. Also had evening meal one night which was also delicious. Staff were very friendly. Location is great with train station round the corner & Brockwell park also. Herne Hill area is quite cosmopolitan.

Love the Half Moon’s location, its lovely character and style. Great food and drink, and the service is always excellent. Herne Hill has unique shops, cafes and bar/restaurants, so is a great place in itself. We find it easy for going to gigs at the Brixton Academy as there’s close rail links or a quick bus or taxi ride.

Just the usual London traffic - sirens at night, and so on. But doesn’t really make the stay any less enjoyable.

The hotel, the staff, the room, the pub, we loved this place. They gave us a very warm welcome, showed us to our room en took the time to give us all the information we needed. The breakfast was great, there is a lot of choice and the scrambled eggs on toast are an absolute winner. It is very nice you can have dinner in the pub and everyone is very friendly and relaxed.

In the night you hear a lot of sirens/ambulances driving by and because it is an old building and I think dubbel glass is not allowed, it is good to take this in account. It didn t bother me to much and there are ear pluggs available, but it is good to realise this when you come over.

Location was great, a really lovely area and a short walk to Brixton Academy. Breakfast was exceptional. Loads of buffet options including vegan milk and yoghurt and the full English was faultless. Staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpful. We booked a small double room which was compact but had great facilities and a really big shower. I really cannot fault this hotel.

Nothing. only reason it wasn't 10 out of 10 was price

Room was great, a little small for our needs (couple with a baby) but would suit some. Bed was comfy, air con a welcome bonus.

The food needed much improvement. It was a shame as the restaurant is very nice, beautifully decorated, good vibe, but the food itself was substandard, especially for the prices. The evening meal menu was particularly poor, however, the breakfast made up for it somewhat.

Everything met my expectations, the food was excellent, especially the breakfast which was first class! The staff were wonderful and couldnt do enough for me. It is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, I would definitely stay there again 👍

Everything met my expectations, except the cabin room was not right for me. I have arthritis and am waiting for knee replacements. There are a lot of stairs up to the room and the mattress is on the floor so I found it difficult to get into and out of bed. It’s a lovely quirky, small room with a good sized shower room it has a coffee machine, fridge, iron and ironing board etc it is perfect for someone fitter or a younger couple. I still really enjoyed my break, it is a great place to stay!
